Actually, you are not "half white and half Asian." You are half-European and and Half Asian." You reduced your "white side" to a stereotype, instead of celebrating the ethnicity of a your European culture. You reduced it to 'whiteness," like when you cringingly said "I like my half pumpkin Latte." Wow, you are tone deaf. I thought this was an anti-racial-stereotype T Talk. Not a supportive one.
well most americans who are white aren’t connected to their european culture because their family has been in america for so long so it would be a little weird to claim that european heritage when you know nothing about it and it wasn’t passed down to you. at least that’s been my experience as someone who is half white and has been around white people. i would love to connect with my european culture, but i wasn’t raised in it so i feel like it’s a bit of stretch for me to say i’m european. and honestly, i don’t think she was stereotyping her white side by calling herself half white. i am half chinese and half scandinavian but i just tell people i’m half asian and half white because to me, white and european are interchangeable. it’s really not a big deal.
I agree what ur saying. But the thing is we all are ok with positive stereotypes bit people don't like negative stereotypes. And stereotypes are made after seeing repeatedly actionss
@@funkykong9778 What is your evidence of the contrary? Are you stereotyping (in a TedTalk about "stereotypes")? Bravo! You are an example of everything going wrong with the left
Its ignorance. If you understand korean history this isnt a problem. But Korean history isn't taught in Canadian Schools, I'm taught Canadian history. That's the difference I've self read on Asian cultures but I dont the difference between Iraqis and Iranians? Because I haven't researched that. It's just ignorance. Rascism is a by product.
I am white and converted to Islam and also the stereotype about Islam is that it is a race but anyone can convert to Islam it is a religion not a race and also I was raised christian and also know alot of Christian scripture from my christian upbringing and also I am also a Republican and very conservative and also a trump supporter .
It is noteworthy that stereotypes do not happen in a vacuum... and the fact that human beings have a natural tendency to stereotype does not mean we don't want other people/religions "to exist". This is dangerous BS

@@iagd106i3 I said "an example", not everyone... but good try man, good try 😂
Recent events in Florida don't seem to be supporting your argument of accepting everyone lmao. It's everyone until LGBTQ people exist I guess.

But when it happens over and over people start to create stereotypes. That's how the brain works.
