Great video Shane, I've just got a drone myself (Mini2) I am really enjoying getting into the drone as well, haven't done any night flying as yet though, I look forward to watching you with great interest - thanks again Shane you continue provide us newcomers with great apexes to try ourselves - thanks for effort!! Brilliant.
Cheers mate. Although I got a message last night from a mate that let me know youre not allowed to fly them at night without a licence..... did not know that.
Hey Shayne. I don’t know if you mentioned this, but the mavics can be set for the camera to look above the horizontal - about 30degs, which give more sky. Not thought of using my drone for this but worth looking at. unfortunately, in GB night flying is a big no-no.
I also enjoy astrophotography with mavic air2. Last year, I photographed Comet Neowise. Drones that can be taken from the sky are effective for objects in the low sky.
Great video Shayne, must admit I've not tried this yet, but certainly will be doing with the Mini 3 pro. Be good if you could do an updated video on this sometime?
Stacking a few photos should have yielded noticeable improvements in picture quality. I like Starry Landscape Stacker, very easy to use. I haven't tried night drone photos yet- I'm 150 miles from any really dark sky!
Is it just me that gets looks that i am some wierdo, stalker or psycho when i will be doing such camera things with phone or other gadgets at ungodly hours 😂 and i live in a big city, like the way people stare its funny like nope i am not psycho, i am just nerd 😂✌🏼
We need to try this again when the Milky Way is back. I say “we” because I have a similar drone and I’m keen to try this 😁👍🏼
I will need to sort out a licence first I think.
I exactly know what you mean but, 'when the Milky Way is back' is a very funny statement hehe.
Again, no disrespect intended whatsoever. Peace!
Update?

@@ShayneMostyn In the United states you can fly at night if you have a stobe light bright enough to see at 3 miles away

I didn't mention that, but thanks mate.
I have an Air 3 and been considering this and put the photos through a stacker program

Possibly mate. In AUS you need a licence to fly at night. Dont want to be getting in trouble
Ah right, had no idea.
Stay safe then pal@@ShayneMostyn
Amazing video and a wicked experiment! Going out with mine now! 👍🏼👍🏼
Have fun!
Thanks for doing mine and probably others ideas!
Cheers mate, thanks for watching :)
Great video. Any update?

Hmm.... thats a really interesting idea. I do it with other pics, never thought of doing it with the drone.
Yeah I was going to suggest a bunch of 2” exposures and stack. Surely eliminate the drone movement
You are a bloody legend for sure.
No, you are!
@@ShayneMostyn you fly drones too!
Very cool. I have wanted to try this myself, now I will. It's the best camera own. Can video images be stacked?
Thanks mate. Iguess they could, I see no reason why not, although I have not tried this myself.
This looks interesting🤞...
I thought so mate
Nice!!
Maybe with sequator It will stack?
Yep, I was going to do that, just a little too breezy up there to get consistent images.
@@ShayneMostyn Ahhh got ya mate!
Can we maybe get some carina nebula action in the future?
Nice one
Thanks 🔥
Nice toy! Too bad if you live near an international airport then there are too many restrictions.
Absolutely mate.

AHAHAHA Only the cows look at me like Im a weirdo mate.
Strap the iPhone to the drone😂
