Thanks Albert. Super clear and useful as usual. I was really hesitating buying a DJI Mini but your video convinced me to do so (even though you are not sponsored by DJI...)
Hi Albert I bought the Mini 4 last month and I can confirm you I have a lot of fun with it. So light, compact, easy to use, doing good shots.... absolutely perfect for travel photography! Thanks again for the video that really convinced me to make this choice...
Great advice, really great! A couple of things I noticed that however there is always a strong dominance in the colors and a strong vignetting (in RAW) you also use ND filters! to dim the lights! Thanks if you can.
By chance I found this tutorial. I thought I know at least the basics, but many thanks for thesevery helpfull hints. Highly apreciated. And by the way, wonderfull images 😉
Good points raised in this video. Thank you. The Mini 3 Pro, by the way, can handle much more than a breeze. It is a tough little drone. But it is true that as wind gets stronger, taking multiple photos to overcome the sensor's poor dynamic range or taking panoramas, becomes more and more of a challenge. Even in higher winds, I was able to take manual panorama, with multiple exposure per frame, but baking it all together in post took hours of work. So it is feasible, but will require lots of technical work in post.
Thanks Albert, ik vlieg niet bijzonder veel met de Drone, zeer selectief, maar dit zijn hele fijne nuttige tips om mee te nemen naar de praktijk. Tot slot prachtige beelden! //Dave
Thanks so much for all the information, advice and tips in this video - I'm just a novice, but you've inspired me to get out and challenge myself with my drone!
You are one of my top favorite photographers, along with Daniel Kordan and Ted Gore. :P. The captures are just mind blowing. I have the same drone and yes, as you mentioned 48mpx is good for non moving things, otherwise you are getting purple artifacts or something like that . :D
Albert, I have just subscribed to your channel and have been so impressed with your photography and your editing of images. I was looking at your editing course, would it be suitable for my mainly editing drone images, as well as camera? Many thanks, Gary
The first thing is to thank you for the time you have dedicated to this video. I have a Mini 4Pro, with which it is possible to take up to 7 shots in AEB, with fixed intervals of 0.7 between photos. My question is, is there a program with a reasonable cost for non-professionals, that for example can merge a group of photos that have been taken in AEB mode, and it's possible to make color corrections for example? What is true is that it is not the best drone for taking photos, but it is what it is, and it cannot be compared with the bigger brothers with sensors larger than one inch. All the best, and thanks again.
I just saw this video, hence late commnent. I use mi mini 3 pro only for photographs. For the 48Mp picture, dxo deep prime + lens correction does an amazing job. Far better then new LR denoise as the lens correction/len sharpness is really amazing. Sending you a 100% partial picture via messenger for comparaison. Not sure how messange will tamper with the result though.
Hi Albert, thanks for the video. I got my mini 3 pro just 2 months now and i was a bit disappointed about the image sharpness. So your tips are more then welcome. Im also having trouble editing, but im sure your other video will help me with that too. Im following your course online too. Is there a separate topic about Drone photography?
Great information. For the manual panoramas, do you rotate the drone a couple degrees between exposures or move the drone 50 meters or so without changing the camera angle? I would think that there is an element of distortion introduced by the former method and an element of inaccuracy by the latter, but the example photos look great.
Thanks Albert, excellent video. I just purchased a Mini 4 Pro and starting to learn how to best use it. One quick question, when you shoot burst mode to stack and remove noise, it wasn't clear it you typically shoot in 48 mp mode or in this must be done in 12 mp mode.
Thank you for this great video and the super helpful tipps! As a drone beginner with a mini 3 pro this was exactly what I needed! I was wondering however, if you use any filters on your drone? With a CPL for example would you rather bring your drone down to adjust it before turning the camera from horizontal to vertical or would you rather shoot the pano in the orientation the CPL is currently positioned for? Love your work and really enjoyed reading your landscape photography book! Thank you for sharing your tipps and tricks with us!
thank you so much! I actually do not use the CPL a lot, but for water see through it can be great. I would be careful shooting panos with a CPL though.
If i buy mini 3 pro without that remote controlled with lcd, would i be able to see stitched panoramas on the phone? Great tehniquest i used on my g7x before sony a7 iii
I have fond this a great video thank you. A couple of questions as I am brand new to the world of drones and not familiar with photography too much either. If they auto settings for 48mp is not recommended how much of a quality difference is there from the 48mp manual to the 12mp auto? Is it significantly better for the 48mp photos or do you get 95% there as well as having a much easier set up with the 12mp auto settings? Also, regarding post and the use of LUTs... now I have no idea what LUTs are or how to use them but I've hear them mentioned a few times. If they are so simple to use to improve the colour profiles, why are they not implemented as standard as part of the main recording/capturing process? Why is the base output quality so poor?
Hoi Albert, top video, bedankt! Ervaring, tips hiervoor?

RUclips showed this video to me on my home screen and I enjoyed watching it. My plan is to take a closer look at your channel content. I have a sidebar question you may be able to address. I use Cyberlink applications for video, photo and advanced color editing. I started out with Cyberlink years ago when Adobe went to an expensive subscription business model. The various Cyberlink platforms are, I would say, very robust but with drawbacks here and there. Processing LUT overlays on D-log M video files being one of them and just to name one. My question to you is....have you ever looked at or worked with anything else besides Adobe platforms and secondly, do you consider the Adobe platforms to be of good value for what you have to pay for a subscription? Most people use Adobe platforms which means that most of the tutorials and advanced techniques are shown using Adobe. It is a big jump to make, diving into Adobe not to mention the expense. What do you think?
Thanks for the video. I recently bought the Mini 4 Pro and like to take 5 AEB panoramas. My problem is that it takes a long time to save the bracketing in the air. Is there a solution for this?
Yes I do! And no the 48mp is better IF you use it correctly! Meaning perfect exposure. Also because with CI if there are lots of detail in the shot. Like a top down shot of a harbour with lots of small boats for example. This is sometimes tricky. In that case I take some 12 mp shots as well, kind of as a 'backup' if the 48mp file has issues.
Hi Albert!! I have the dji mini pro 4... I notice a lot of moire patterns in my picture ... blue bands in the roofs and brick walls...l aways shot in .dng 48M... Do you have the same problem? Any solution? thank you so much!
When you edit in lighrroom, do you get the adobe profiles? I noticed when I try to follow along with photo editing videos on youtube that adobe landscape isn't an option like most people are using. Not sure if I need to do lens correction as well? Thanks for making these videos.
I think these are profiles based on your camera and RAW files. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but it could be that some people simply have different profiles because of their cameras. I wouldn't care too much about it. Honestly, I never even look at it and I have also never changed it! With lens correction it's the same thing. You can apply it when LR has the profile of your lens. Otherwise it's just greyed out.
thanks for the great video and your hints Albert. I have the mini 3 pro too, but I am really disappointed about the quality of the raw file - my raws (in capture one) has a huge vignette and massive chromatic aberration so that I am not able to compensate these in raw editor. How is it with LR? Does LR have a profile for mini 3 pro?
the CI can be a thing and I found out that some drones have less issues with it. The first Mini 3 Pro I had had more CI than the second one. Also, I don't have much vignettes to be honest. You're talking about the RAW file of the 48mp right? are the normal 12mp files better regarding vignetting?
