Good morning world! Jake, what a great video to wake up to. You knocked it out of the park on this one! Great story telling , editing, music and what outstanding footage. Now you have added Alaska winter and the Aurora to my bucket list. Thanks so much for this great work.
These aurorae were so prominent that we even saw them in Ireland. I was fortunate to see a full display in Canada about 20 years ago (at 4am in the winter). Great video and very glad you were finally able to test this out.
Yay! Very cool! The Hyperlapse looks great capturing the northern lights, as well as being able to see the surrounding trees, hills, well done! Wish it was easier to pick and choose a night when you can do that.
This is an incredible life experience to capture. Amazing work Jake. Happy to know that the Mavic 3 works well, in hyperlapse mode, for these conditions.
Unbelievable work there jake . Big well done to you and your friends a proud moment to remember. Amazing sites to see. What a great drone … hope you all got something warm after looks very cold. Hope all is well
This is probably the BEST drone video I’ve seen. I have the Mavic 3 too, can’t wait to get some night shots with it. They won’t be as spectacular as your shots of the Aurora though!
Wow, Wow, Wow, Incredible imaging, Jake! Who would have thought shooting in hyper-lapse would give you this kind of results. Thank you for sharing more of the Aurora images you posted on Twitter. Yes, I'm sure glad I posted that Aurora image from the Netherlands due to the Sun's activity. You nailed it, Sir! Well Done!
I cannot believe the RUclips algorithm did not get this video to the front page yet. That hpyerlapse of the Aurora was so epic it almost looks like CGI. Awesome video!
I love your videos! Locations are always epic and videos are easy and fun to watch. I always refer this channel to my friends who are trying to get into drone videos. I sincerely hope this channel takes off a ton.
Your one of the Creators I started watching in 2000 when I got my first drone. You have been a great inspiration to me. Don’t have the great scenery here in Florida like you have in Alaska but I make due with what I have. Please check my channel out and subscribe and leave a comment. It’ll mean so much to me. Thanks and keep me entertained like you’ve been doing.
7:50 I've always seen hyperlapses of it, but never video. Interesting to see a real time video. I was not aware that it stayed visible in the sky for that long. I thought it was like lightning, where it flashed for a second, and then flashed again. Now I know! Very awesome, Jake!
Thanks Leigh!! every time I see anything 505 I think of you and mike lol. I have some ideas for some cool things we can hopefully do this summer WITHOUT freezing our faces off lol
Awesome! I loved the northern lights when I lived in Fairbanks. You get a slight glow from them in Idaho but nothing like up there. Time to start saving $$$ and trade in my Mavic Pro.
Its nice to see someone actually film a night video in a place where its DARK. Everyone else is like "Here's what the football stadium, looks like at night". Or they shoot at 20 minutes before dark LOL... Thank you!
Incredible!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Hyperlapse video makes sense to use. I wonder if using waypoints Hyperlapse gives you more flexibility in post by using the raw images. Now, I want to take my M3 out their and do the same thing. 😀🚁 Again great video!👍🏾
Didn't think when I watched a video that I'd also learn some new vocabulary: Snotcicle. Can't un-hear or in-see that. 😂 Thanks for enduring to get some great footage! Wait, snotcicle... nope, still there...
EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! So frickin happy for you dude, such an incredible sight and a joy to film when you realise the gear can see it, beautiful video, loved it and your energies ❤🤙🏻
Absolutely love the honest portrayal of just how difficult it is to capture video in EXTREME low light - I am curious to know with your attempt to capture video using the Mavic3, where the lights out of focus, or is that the way the lights truly look? - I also own a Mavic3 & understand the difficulty in low light video & how you have to think on your feet so as to make the most of very rare events - GREAT JOB! 👏
thats how they truely look but also remember there is a lot of noise which degrades the sharpness quite a lot so to your eye they will look sharper. Thank you so much
Oh my! WOW Jake! This must have been the most incredible and unique drone shot I've ever seen. You gave me goosebumps! Thank you for the shots and the hard work especially without gloves in the frigid cold.
I've been meaning to test this out with hyperlapse! Incredible work here. I know it's not easy trying to set up a well composed hyperlapse in the middle of a freezing night, but you nailed it.
Finally got around to watching this (I wanted to be"First" lol), but BOY! this one is an absolute BANGER, Jake! If there's any justice in the world you need at least 10x views on this. even having seen the display irl I was NOT expecting this.
oh dang thats unfortunate! I did have to calibrate my compass a couple times, with the aurora this strong it's not surprising that there was interference with the GPS and compass systems
That Hyperlapse turned out great. That's been an impressive drone for me at night, but I didn't realize you could do that with it! Fun to watch and well edited video my friend! Excited to see what else you do up north. Happy Monday!
Amazing video, Jake. I was wondering if you would be willing to share some of the settings for your aurora hyperlapse? Can you please tell me what interval and exposure time you used? Thanks you! Cheers!
Hello Jake.. Just spectacular results !!! I am going to Noway in about a week.. With my Mavic 3.. Can you give any info on your settings you used ? Interval, shutter speed etc... Amazing !! Cheers
Awesome Mike! have a blast! for my settings I set the shutter for 3.2 or 4 seconds and the interval for one second more than that. the ISO was set at 400 for the 4 sec shutter and 800 for the 3.2 second shutter and shot in raw and used the raw files to process and stabilize in post. Cheers and good luck!
My settings for this were: Hyperlapse mode 3 or 4 second exposure 800 or 400 ISO with a 5 second interval. Set your White balance to 4000k or 4200k
for video I shot D-log at max iso and a 1/30 shutter speed I also did night mode at 12800 and 1/30 shutter speed with white balance at 4200.
You got be effin proud of yourself for capturing such an incredible sight with the drones....seriously stunning
thank you very much!
Good morning world! Jake, what a great video to wake up to. You knocked it out of the park on this one! Great story telling , editing, music and what outstanding footage. Now you have added Alaska winter and the Aurora to my bucket list. Thanks so much for this great work.
Thank you so much James!
indeed; now THAT is a hyperlapse!!!
agreed!
Thank you answering my question by releasing this video. Great.
you're welcome
These aurorae were so prominent that we even saw them in Ireland. I was fortunate to see a full display in Canada about 20 years ago (at 4am in the winter). Great video and very glad you were finally able to test this out.
Thats awesome! it's funny because I think it was about 20 years ago when I last saw a display like this one!
Probably the sickest drone lapse I've seen! What an accomplishment 👏
Thank you very much!!
What a great video! I don’t know what is lit up more, the Aurora or your face while experiencing this beautiful moment of nature. Wonderful work Jake!
Thanks Jonathan! I've been here 25 year and it still fills me with wonder every time
That is stunning. I can't believe it came out so beautiful. Bravo.
Thank you so much!
impressive piece of your kit no doubt !
Definitely amazing what a small drone can produce!
Just hearing your reaction was the best…great work and what a once in a lifetime experience!
Thanks it was a fantastic experience one of the best I've seen in 20+ years of living here
Yay! Very cool! The Hyperlapse looks great capturing the northern lights, as well as being able to see the surrounding trees, hills, well done! Wish it was easier to pick and choose a night when you can do that.
Thanks Mark and yeah I agree an easier time scheduling this would have been great lol
I've NEVER seen videos of auroras as stunning as these hyperlapse drone shots !
Abloodymazing !
Thank you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this incredible experience. I am in awe of your talent. Cheers from Wisconsin to you and your mates, Jake.
Thanks George! Cheers

Unbelievable work there jake . Big well done to you and your friends a proud moment to remember. Amazing sites to see. What a great drone … hope you all got something warm after looks very cold. Hope all is well
Thanks Michael! It was awesome and yes we finally got home and thawed out lol
This is probably the BEST drone video I’ve seen. I have the Mavic 3 too, can’t wait to get some night shots with it. They won’t be as spectacular as your shots of the Aurora though!

Ok… that hyperlapse is insane!! I was at my cabin in Talkeetna that night and couldn’t stop howling like a lunatic. Great video.
Lol neither could we. That was such a spectacular night for the Aurora!
That is truly amazing! I hope to see that in person one day
I hope you do too!
That was just incredible! WOW….
Thank you!

Definitely and the great thing is this is possible with the Mavic 3 classic too!
I’m not even there and I’m feeling it … bringing back the feeling from when I filmed it from north of Helsinki, Finland … oh man
oh that is awesome and thanks for watching it!
Watching your videos really makes me want to move to Alaska
LOL nice!! if you don't mind cold and winter it's a spectacular place to live!

Hi Jake.....Thank You for the INCREDIBLE STORY ADVENTURE !!! Did you manually fly the drone in hyperlapse or were any way points used.....
I set waypoints and flew it using them the drone does a better job lol
Excellent work Jake! You're still one of our favorite creative outlander influencers! Much gratitude! ;-) T
thanks so much!!

Incredible video! What type of strobe light are you using? Thanks
this was the lumecube strobe but I also have one from firehouse that works just as well
@@JakeSloan Ok, thanks for confirming.
Was the LumeCube the bottom light or the top light?
