    Tip for y'all. Eat the peas and carrots straight from the tincan, no smoke to give you away, no hard work lighting a fire, no burning hot pans to quickly pack away, less signs of you having been there, and less washing up !!!

      at least in real life this post apocalypse times have not come yet.
      we would all die in the apocalypse when ever it comes.
      world population will fall from 8 billion people to less than a billion people in the apocalypse.
      we cant do better we will be lucky to still be on the earth then maybe we are real old but we live in a under ground bunker some where in New Zealand far away from the civil war ii in America.

    Rule 2, you finished with the fire, now get away from the smoldering coals, they can be smelled half a kilometer away downwind. Rule 3, sit within easy view of a clearing such as the one you built the fire in, but put that clearing between you and your threat axis of approach. It will give you more warning time and allow you to see them first. Pick a spot behind that moderately thin screening shrubbery that you built your fire next to. Smoke passing through leaves and branches will also help to disperse the smoke. Rule 4, Avoid being too studious of your campfire and become acutely aware of those snapping twigs and suddenly startled animals.

Since it's German language film, I assume it was filmed in a Non USA nation that doesn't have common gun ownership. The StG-44, the K98 and the MP-41 (wooden stocked version) were all nonfiring replicas from Denix. (lol they all look way too new, the wood is undamaged and the blueing looks a little weird)

    Okay I can understand that this is taking place somewhere in Germany but I do have some problems with it first off a lot of weapons that are used our World War II weapons such as the sturmgewehr 44 the PPSh-41 and the kar98 when in fact a lot of the clothing and even some of the gear such as a face mask is fairly modern like within five or six years modern so the likelihood of those weapons still being functional much less they're being a sufficient number that's just laying around for people to find would be very rare especially in a post-apocalyptic setting unless it's directly after World War II but that's kind of hard to portray because the modern clothing does not say World War II era also he did not pick up the woman's PPSh-41 nor did he pick up whatever weapon was on the guy that he shot coming out of the tunnel which would have been a very first instinct thing to do given the situation that he was in other than it was a phenomenal movie short little film whatever you want to call it especially some of the running scenes the camera work was very good it was very steady so I appreciate you guys putting your time and effort into it and sharing it with us :3

    • @jacobrobertdesio9265
      @jacobrobertdesio9265 6 лет назад +1

      Jacked Toe Productions, if you are going to do a western you have to do something unique that nobody has seen. Westerns can be ruined with cliches so drop all the typical "western" stuff. Also finding funding will be hard because westerns aren't very popular anymore. I wish you luck though, just be original and maybe consider blending genres.

  • @markkesseler8891
    @markkesseler8891 6 лет назад +7

    I did like it. There is a lot that was done well. However, please note that the writer looks stupid if: 1. One character has a gas mask while another in the same place does fine without one, and 2. If characters seem to be using the same gas mask long term (which was not the case here). Too many post apocalyptic films throw in a gas mask when it makes no sense.

    • @SeptemberTales
      @SeptemberTales  6 лет назад +4

      Thanks for the comment! Now, surely the masks main purpose was to make the character remarkable. However, we wanted to keep the apocalypse as vague as possible. A good example for this being used in a major production is "The Road", where we never get to know what happened to the world because the characters probably don't really know either. In that case, if you come across some gas mask that just might raise your chance of surviving whatever led to the extinction of mankind, you'd at least give it a go. Also, you look darn intimidating with that thing, which is obviously the main reason people tend to use them in so many movies.
      But yeah, that's just what we tell ourselves so we can sleep at night. -josh

He was probably the one who put a round into that girls neck also. If things ever got that bad, having numbers, a decent shelter, and a 360°good field of vision, I think would be the best route to survive. I give it a 5.5 outta 10.

Now I wouldn't consider that as something easily affordable, but in the end it all comes down to lighting, planning and post production, not the camera itself. Don't make you camp in the middle of an open area. Start the fire, then put your pot on it. Never take out of your pack multiple items, always be packed and ready to move. Never waste water to put out a fire throw dirt on it. Good job on actually having the rifle safety actually in the fire position when approaching a possible hostile. If you are being shot at why would you rummage thru a pack? Grab the pack and move to cover. A sniper would never have stayed in the same position and a smoke grenade would not smoke anyone out of anywhere. Why knock someone out then waste ammo shooting them and give away your position? If you are more than arms length away from your rifle you are an idiot.

    I don't see how a person can be running their ass off. And the person chasing them is walking. And the person walking catches them

    Wait. I got 40 seconds in before I couldn't watch it anymore. The one guy was running full force and the guy behind him/after him, was merely walking, and no sooner did the dumb guy trip and fall, the walking guy was over top of him and shot him. I can't do extremely unrealistic.

    OK, I haven't given up on this yet, but one minute in and I am expecting Don LaFontaine to cue up the ominous music and Narrate "IN A WORLD where a slowly walking man can easily catch up with you when you are running full out and kill you" ...OK now I've seen the whole thing. The acting was ok, but the story seems like it was written by somebody who has played too many computer first person shooters. Finding weapons caches, People randomly in watchtowers sniping. Why? And if your priority is survival, why waste a perfectly good grenade on attacking a tower you know nothing about. Was it where the guy lived. Were there supplies there? was he a lookout for an army that could destroy you. None of these questions need to be answered in a game, but they should be at least touched on in a movie. And the girl, not even discussed? The note and the gun, where did it come from. At first I thought he was going to rescue somebody. He had a map. But so sorry this story makes little sense. It was mildly interesting from a survival standpoint until the guy started acting very stupidly and never stopped, and there was no reason or motivation.

    I think everyone loves seeing what characters in post apocalyptic films finds in the their savaging ventures. Scavenging seems to be a big part of what people fantasize about when concerning the end of the world, sadly many films don't dive deep in this facet of activity. Moreover I believe people like to see how individuals utilize survival techniques, and if possible, learn real ones from the film they are watching. People can watch a war movie if they are interested in guns and people killing each other, there are plenty of films like this already on the market. However, what draws in the apocalyptic film fan in ? The devil is in the details and I like how many facets of the little apocalyptic touches this short film has that separates it just from another Call of Duty Warfare remake. I will be looking forward to the sequel to this short film !

    Stuck indoors so I'm looking at shorts. I find all of them entertaining, not overwhelmingly destructive or too pessimistic or optomistic. The guy here likes his beans. Great show and I really need that mask. It's funny how bugs survive the apocalypse, just saying.
