Snowrunner is so Zen but can also make you fly off the handle in an instant. Such good games.

the scouting part of Snowrunner (This channel is how i learned about that game) was by far my favorite aspect. This game appears to be more in that vein, but even if it isn't I'm still excited about this.

Exactly. There's nothing like getting to a fresh map and finding your way.
Absolutely. The missions that sucked were like 'deliver this many logs to this place' except you only had enough room for 1/3 or 1/4 of the total amount, meaning you had to do the exact same drive over and over again. That's not fun to me. There were parts of the obscure goals that I did like, but mainly scouting and looking for upgrades is what I preferred. This looks amazing.
4:11 this is encouraging, as I enjoyed snowrunner a lot, but I think I stopped playing because it was a bit TOO open for me. A tighter mission structure and more standard type gamification / rewards system will probably hook me in even deeper than the previous games did 👍
My issue with snow runner was that a large majority of deliveries were unnecessarily tedious

I just hope they don't milk the DLC like they did with Snowrunner. That game was never complete. The continuous DLC really turned me off the series.
Honestly I agree I bought everything because I love the game but have to delete it time from time due to the constant crashing mid mission with out it even caring to save my heart from the cold pain of slowly getting closer hoping it won't crash. Sad how that's how I started to look at the game not even scared about tipping but scared of it crashing. 😪
I don't see how that's an issue. Snowrunner launched with 3 maps and a handful of trucks. In now has like 5x more content and is going on still being relevant after 4 years. Some of the DLC maps and trucks have been better and more extreme than anything from the base game. I think they handled DLC well and even at a fair price. The DLCs are bringing hundreds of hours of new content.
If you mean the truck packs I would agree with you, if you mean the season passes I could not disagree with you more. They are a great value for the money. Even 4 years later and hundreds of hours of gameplay I am getting fresh content.
I'm sure they already got the milking routine ready for season 2 😂
Eh, sure they have a lot of DLC but it's pretty good value. You can get it for a decent price when it goes on sale (quite often) and it's probably 300+ hours of good content
Videos for both car based games I've been keen on for this year in a row? Right on! Excited for this one, I do like the direction this is going
I'm a huge fan of Snowrunner, but unlike a lot of others I was always more into the transport and logistics side of things. I'm hoping they aren't moving away from that fully and that we'll see a Snowrunner 2 in addition to these Expeditions games.

I have played all these games and love them. Often playing them while listening to the ACG podcast actually. This looks amazing. I've always wanted them to do a WW2 version that's based in a warzone. Not as a combatant but in European locations navigating active combat theaters, forward operations and supply line missions on large maps using time appropriate mechanics to simulate how they navigated at the time.
That’s actually a cool idea and one i think would do well. Hopefully the devs think of this and do something like that

Mud Runner games need a Firewatch style narration and story.
the suspension model in this is something that is missing from snowrunner also the tire deflate and inflate mechanics... the gameplay loop is certainly unique, will look into this after the finalize on snowrunner season 3

I am glad Spintires keeps getting more advanced. Mudrunner was mostly about delivering wood, and Snowrunner was about fixing the towns and getting everything running. I was hoping for something just like this as the next idea. Just exploring can be very fun and can more repayability than the first Michigan map on Snowrunner after 100% completion.

Do they still have that unrealistic pseudo gearbox instead of a proper manual? And tires with stats random to what they actually look like? I have a lot of hours in Mudrunner and Snowrunner but honestly have dropped them when I discovered BeamNG.
I hope we get either a Ford or Chevy scout truck. American Wilds DLC for Mudrunner had the best combo, with the 90s Ford pickup and the late 70s K5 Blazer. Snowrunner also had the 90s Chevy stepside. I also find it odd that they went with "A Mudrunner Game" since Snowrunner seems to be what really put the series into the mainstream, and graphically it looks almost identical to Snowrunner. I did prefer the physics in Mudrunner, so I hope that makes a return, or even better, an improvement on the physics of both games. Where rocks don't feel like ice in Snowrunner, and where highways don't feel like ice in Mudrunner.
I've never even heard of this game series before --- not sure how that happened haha. This certainly looks interesting. I've never played anything like it, so I will definitely add it to my watchlist and see the verdict on release! Thanks for the preview :)
Spintires and MudRunner are unique games when it is hard to find anything new.

Coop ,crossplay. That's the only thing I care about with this one. If it works I'm definitively buying it.
Definitely interested in this one. I checked out Snowrunner a month or so ago when they played it on the Let's Play channel, and after obsessing over it for about a week, I realized that the game has multiple 100s of hours of content. At that point I decided to delete it to protect me from myself, as it's a very addicting game. My favorite part by far was the exploring and scout missions though so this seems more like my jam, but I really hope they streamline the story/missions so there's less content. Give me like a 30 hour experience and I'm in. If it's another behemoth of content, then I gotta pass and good for those that want as much content as possible.
I love snowrunner man but it does eat up time
To each his own but I'd rather spend my time in an addicting game than something that's only ok lol. Put in over 400 hours on Elden Ring and loved it. Recently bought MudRunner on really cheap sale and was surprised how much I really like it because I'm not interested in big rigs, trucks. Decided to go ahead and buy SnowRunner and can't wait to play. Should be finished downloading soon. As far as this Expeditions game it looks good as well. I'll definitely be watching reviews on it.
@markadams5009 If you love it and you're going to enjoy all your time with it, then for sure play it. While I was absolutely enjoying my time with snowrunner (also surprisingly as I also have no interest in trucking or off roading), but I was staying up way too late and ruining my sleep and thus my life because it was addicting and I have no self-control lol. I would have kept playing if I knew there was an end in sight, but it's just a behemoth of a game content wise and the progress really is at a snails pace. I also played probably like 200 hours of Elden Ring back when it first came out and I loved it, but two full playthroughs (with 2 of my buddies so it was like beating it 6 times) was enough for me.
I also didn't drop snowrunner for games that are only okay lol. I have way too many games I want/wanted to play in my backlog. Since quitting snowrunner I've beat Sea of Stars, Cocoon, Neon White, and Hades (still playing a bit of Hades but gotta move on from that soon). And now I'm playing Chants of Sennaar. I'm contemplating playing Death Stranding actually as I hear there's similarities to snowrunner and I bet I'd enjoy it even more as there's the whole narrative aspect.
This is gonna my style of game! I love watching Matt's off road recovery, Casey Ladelle, Robby Layton, Fab Rats and Trail Mater. this is right up my alley!
I kind of like the idea of a more streamlined experience. I bounced off the original Mudrunner because there was so much to learn and I don’t have the time to really dive deep into a super mechanically complex title. This looks good. Willing to give it another shot.
These type of games shine when you have a pedal and wheel setup it makes it 50% funner for sure
I had to stop playing Snowrunner cause I upgraded my G29 for a DD.....it's a shame that in 2023 and now 2024, games with vehicules are not compatible with any kind of wheel.
As convinced I am that this game should only be a Snowrunner DLC (it stinks the scammy copy-paste of the 2 previous games), I may give it a try if Coop is a thing, and if my wheel is recognized. If not, well...I'll be able to say "I told you so" to my friend ^_^
@@papimtl9885 yeah I hope it recognizes more wheels I had to download a third party program to use mine in snow runner which is very user friendly and they refused to add any new or update any wheel configurations
@@papimtl9885 yeah my wheel didn't get recognized either had to download a program to set it up the only driving game I played that didn't I usually play Sims though so I'm unsure about other more arcady games

I even played the OG when it was Beta. So I talk about Spintires. I played essentially every game except mudrunner. Snowrunner was so freaking big. Its so cool to play with friends and take 2 h for 5km. EPIC
Mudrunner was a beautiful and very detailed game. Snowrunner was more of a console game, stripped from most things that made Mudrunner unique. This looks the same.
My favorite parts of the Runner games is the exploring, scouting and recovery missions. Hope they fixed the way throttle works though. Nothing like letting off the the throttle in top gear just a tiiiiny bit and the vehicle drops to 1st gear faster than Mike Tyson would drop me in a fight.
Saber needs to fix snowrunner on Xbox before I even consider buying another of their game. The game has been unplayable for months.
Love these games. I look forward to working endless hours to get nowhere. Just like life.

Played the hell outta Snowrunner and my favorite parts were taking a scout (Yar87) and going to explore the map and unlocking stuff. The other bits of the game were fun as well but glad to see expedition is going to live up to my hype.
Ya will be an interesting title to check out when its released

ACG : I love SpinTires, Mudrunner and Snowrunner....I've been playing them since 2014 when the first SpinTires came out and it was less than 700 MB in size only !!!!
I loved Snow Runner even though I had one of the early trucks you find and have to tow back to garage got stuck in a river and had to wait until I had a much more powerful truck to get it out of that…sat there for 2 months before I figured it out.
It’s so Zen at times that it loops back to chaos.
I own spin tires and mud runers and snow runners.
I haven't played the snow one. I would classify them as casual gaming. Maybe even puzzle gaming.
They are fine. Something to do.
One big issue tho is they have at least one truck with a snorkle yet they still use the engine level as the water limit.
I'm a die hard Gran Turismo person. Been playing since the first one.
I want Hideo Kojima to let them make a death standing type skin of some kind since it's basically the idea of death stranding's stressful traversal where the journey is everything but while being in a car almost always.
I'm still playing Snowrunner and I enjoy it. The main thing I'm interested in knowing is: Variety of the locations, if there are new types of missions and if completing objectives/missions/contracts have a similar/bigger impact on the map than in Snowrunner.
I've spent countless hours doing this kind of thing in Forza but never bought a Mudrunner game because the maps are too small and people always complain about bugs.
Expeditions looks like it's more up my alley, might buy this one if the map is big enough.
I’m kind of hyped for this game. I just hope the hud has reasonably sized menu text. That will ultimately make or break it for me.

There’s been no mention of any kind of wheel support. In the Snowrunner game the wheel support was there but the auto centering force feedback was very buggy. Hopefully they don’t have this issue again
Do they have proper transmission in it? Cus that was my biggest issue with snow runner. All trucks felt under powered and transmission in it were unrealistic. You don’t go from 5th gear then all the way to 1st. That would blow transmission,clutch or wreck something. Snow runner did that and compare any other car/truck driving game. I hated how unrealistic the transmission was in snow runner. There was no down shifting on PS4/5 version. Thus many times couldn’t get power to the ground.
Also gaming physics and weight seemed bugged in snow runner at times. Fifth wheel often would hold truck up off the ground, if you found right hill. The devs never fixed that issue.
Good review, I think when I came here I was already going to pre order and I still am but thanks for the good and the bad about the game I am very interested in what its got right and what could be better.

Thanks for this quick preview. - I had been thinking about playing this game as far back as there was "Spintires", but I never got around to it, and it became even worse when this whole controversy between that title and its creator(s) and MudRunner happened, which was (and still is) a whole confusing mess, so I never bothered to go with one or the other (although, the original isn't available anymore). - So since this one was announced recently, I might as well just go with the newer one. - I just hope it won't be one of those cases that it's like "not as good as the originals, so better go with those" or something. You know the reviews... - But by the sound of it, it seems like a nice step up and a good one for newcomers indeed. - I'll hold off for the public reception, though, and who knows what might happens after release as well.

I am glad that this will be a good game too. I have 200 hours on Snowrunner and I enjoy trucking more than scouting in that game. This will complete the package with more fleshed out scouting. Hopefully both will be combined in Snowrunner 2 in the future.
I hope they take their time and add a ton of expansions for this too.

The Mudrunner games are like periods of stardew valley while listening to Michelle Mclaughlin piano, then suddenly you're in bloodborne fighting Laurence, The First Vicar with Lorna Shore playing at max volume. They're awesome.
My main gripe with Expeditions is that it's singleplayer. Snowrunner was way more fun when playing with friends.
Karak, you would have done offroading. Are the Mudrunner games how real-life offroading actually feels like? Or is the game still a bit arcade-y to make it fun?
No. They are a midline of it.
Started with Snowrunner on PS5, now playing it through on my PC as getting head back in ahead of Expeditions release. Did try Mudrunner, but after playing Snowrunner it just didn't compare. Really looking forwards to Expeditions release

Have been playing MudRunner and Snowrunner lot more than MudRunner. Both are good games but I prefer snowrunner better.
This game looks pretty nice and aspect looks the same but little bit different kind and more variation on it.
One thing I hope they have done better is motor sound in snowrunner is not the best one BUT doesn’t make game any less good.

the deciding point for me is if the co-op works without constant disconnects like snowrunner. Really interested in the game but very hesitant to go anywhere near a pre order for that reason.
Played and loved both Mudrunner and Snowrunners. If this is "Scouting - The Game", it's going to be a hit for me because my favourite part of Snowrunner was the scouting.
Hopefully they’ll come out with the Roy Scheider sorcerer DLC

I’m interested in this, I hope they don’t completely abandon the old style of game, I found it really compelling and so far, this doesn’t feel like it will scratch that itch, but I hope some of the toys make their way into the other style of game - if they aren’t going to let us get out and test the depth manually, a sonar makes up for that. Likewise the drone for scouting.
Love the originals and have put more time than I'm willing to openly admit playing each of them....but I'm also pumped for this more trail riding exploration driven entry....ad I feel most in the community will be based off the kinds of mods that do best in the older entry's particularly snowrunner as it was the first will console mods and a wider view of the whole communities interests
I love 4x4... I dont like hauling logs and whatnot. I hate the industrial aspect. I love exploring. Just an enthusiast. This might finally be the 4x4 game ive been waiting for.
I loved snowrunner and some scouting was in the game but, to me, that wasn’t the most exciting aspect of that game. I have been wondering about the game loop even though I’m prolly getting this anyway
The runner games are incredible. The most zen games I have ever played. I have racked up over 1000 hours of singleplayer gameplay in Snowrunner and that is insane to me considering I prefer 50ish hour RPGs. I am very excited for a new twist.
I'm looking forward to this, but damn do I hope they fixed the UI. In Snowrunner it was a 50-50 battle between the terrain and trying to navigate the menus, maps, and objectives. It's been 2 years since i've played, but I remember thinking it was one of the worst UI's I had seen in a long time. I hated to see such a stupid and simple set of issues plague what was otherwise a great game. Fingers crossed.
Yeah it was very confusing and obscure often. Sometimes I would do what the mission seemed to be asking but it just wouldn't work. Plus a lot of the missions required you to bring three or four truckloads of supplies to the same spot. No thanks, I appreciate my own time more than that. Mainly my interest was in scouting and finding upgrades because a lot of the missions really sucked.
I Hope they will put a manual gearbox option
My Snowrunner disc has spent more time in my console than it has in the case since I picked it up on release date.
If they want to be successful, they need to bring back the vehicle physics and feel of Mudrunner or Spintrees.✅⬆

I adore MudRunner, unfotunately the amount of DLC turned me off to SnowRunner. I may go back and try it if there is ever a Complete Edition affordable.

I would add creatures, hunting, fuel management, food and shelter, weather and if you don't keep your health up you can die from exposure to elements. Go another step and you can add bad guys and other survival stuff.
Snowrunner is basically the dark souls of driving video games - you can get where you need to go, if you do it slow and smart... if you get overconfident and arrogant you will not make it.
I initially kind of skipped on them because the slow pace of it just didnt seem my type, but this one having actual objectives in a way and being somewhat strategic in its own twist might be interesting. I'd have to try it to know for sure because im generally not a fan of driving games (the only one i ever loved was Carmageddon and Motorstorm) but this looks *just* different enough to take the detour for.
This looks promising. I always lost interest in the previous games when all exploration was done and you were just ticking off lists that were taking you over and back the same roads carrying materials. It was even worse playing on your own because you felt like you were barely progressing. Curious how multiplayer will work in this.

Maybe its just the rock/dessert setting, but it looks like there isn't as much terrain damage/ruts caused from the tires. Makes it look like the trucks are floating on top of the surface of the map in some shots??? Anyway, I loved Snowrunner and though it did a much better job of explaining things and helping learn for a new player than Mudrunner. Mudrunner I had no clue what I was doing and still find it more difficult even after lots of hours playing Snowrunner.
I’ve been playing fort a horizon and thinking how cool a rock crawling game would be. I’m glad someone else thought of it and it looks fun.
I have played a bit of The Crew with a friend and there is a place where you can go with either bikes or buggys in the mountains. Most fun we ever had !

Is there multiplayer/co-op? I'm seeing conflicting reports all over the place. If there is, they really need to fix their steam page cuz I would have been showing it to my friends by now if I knew for sure we could play together.

I just hate that you can never get out of the car in these games. I mean I get it, that's not the point, but these worlds are so beautiful and immersive I really wish it was possible.
