Ram is missing out by not offering a traditional bed on the 4500/5500 IMHO. Thanks for showing us this one!

Hey I agree! 19.5 wheels/tires, wide trac, and a few of the options mentioned would sway me to a 4500! Thanks for sharing bro 👍🏾

Been saying this for years. Even lower the actual payload like ford does with the f450 that has a bed. That way you avoid regulations of being in the mid duty class truck “cuts back on power, no high output last I checked” but gear it lower than a normal 3500 and slap a bed on it and it would be perfect

Mopar always does that. Leave room for Ford and GM to beat them. Look at the 2500. Why not offer the HO Cummins as an option there too along with the Aisin transmission. Everyone who knows Ram knows that the Aisin is a much better unit in the long run. Also Mopar doesn’t have an suv to really compete with the other full size SUV’s. Plus it’s about time they upgrade their Hemi engines to be able to compete with the amount of power Ford and GM put out. they do it every time. Fall way behind before they answer. That’s why i haven’t gotten a new truck yet. The new truck has the same engine as my 2014.

Thanks for doing a video on the big boys. Your channel is great because of the more detailed descriptions you give us of the vehicles. You go much more in depth and show more of the options and just give a better over-all discussion of the trucks and all that is available in them. The dealers need to appreciate that your videos are much more detailed and are more likely to sell a vehicle than many others because of the better info we get from you. Good job covering this big Ram.

If you pump the tires to recommended pressure. There is little difference. I’ve done about everything possible to remedy the problem including 3 sets of tires in 16000 miles. Michelins now have improved some. When I talked to kelderman they said I have to remember it is still a medium truck. They suggested air bags at 8 inches and tire pressure at 75. Far cry from recommended 100 psi. Also more weight. I pull a 44 ft toy hauler which is somewhat hitch light. And the hauler bed is all aluminum thus it is too light. It needs the bed filled with concrete, seriously. I’ve added a 4000 lb block when Bob tailing and it does help. I look at the 5500 as a big mistake for pulling a camper. For construction work pulling a heavy trailer it would or well. Another thing is the 5500 gearing is too low and the Cummins is. Not high performance, thus it has low power from a dead stop. Chrysler should not sell that truck excep for construction.
