Allen Saunders Yep Billie Joe even said himself “Nobody leaves this band, unless it’s in a coffin”. One of the many great things about Green Day, that all of them stay together.
Same here man, kids these days don’t know real music anymore. I’m glad that I got to grow up listening to these guys. Definitely up there in the top best bands of all time.
He actually provides keyboards for the band but in this instance there are no keyboards to be played. Therefore they didnt set it up. Besides, it's for one song and it is small in there. I can appreciate the honesty and transparency of the band.
This guys doesn't age. They defied the laws of nature. Still the same after 12-13 years. I discovered them when I was a high school freshman and now I am a working class dude and still listens and still a fan of them.
As a guitarist I can say because when you’re making a big jump from high up to the lower frets. You wanna make sure you hit the right strings. It’ll suck to try and show off and have it sound like shit. Especially live.
Yep. I just finished Metallica and now I'm on Green Day. All the artists sound so good on the show. Always look forward to musical guests on the show - Def Leppard was on this week.
When he started singing Say Goodbye in there, I was so happy, and I wish I'd get a medley with Holiday and Say Goodbye. I think those two songs will play mesh well together.
Interestingly enough, when I was younger I heavily preferred Green Day's older stuff over American Idiot, but as I've matured, just like Green Day did, I've really come to appreciate this album more.
I’m guessing you’re joking, but he was timing the song right for him to start singing the “Say Goodbye” part from their album Revolution Radio that was released around the same time this was recorded.
one of the few bands who sound the same as the album
A twelve/thirteen year old album at that.
and 12 years later
And when Billie Joe Armstrong has hardly performed in four years (aside from the odd festival), so he's really out of practice vocally.
They never sound like the album dude, they sound much better and energetic
It's punk, so I don't think that's really difficult to recreate the album tone.
I feel their drummer is highly underrated
doyle white hes decent so hes worth mentioning
He writes some great drum parts!
doyle white I would of liked but you didn’t use his name
doyle white that’s why he looks sad
nah
Shout out to the guy in the back that’s just there for the “Hey” parts.
Don't you ever fucking offend Jeff Matika
Live it's really hard for Mike to pull off the "hey" while playing bass, you should see rev radio live
He's backup
Levi Stutzman and the guys who’s paid to play the most complex power chords ever that Billie can’t play
Levi Stutzman he usually plays sax a third guitar part or whatever other instrument they need
"say goodbye to the ones that we love"♡
Lovely bridge add on
It's weird how well that fit into that part. Loved it
Mike and Billie harmonize so well together. What a great blending of voices.
nailed it!
Love the fact that the band stayed together. A real band. Not one person who hires others to be in there band
Allen Saunders Yep Billie Joe even said himself “Nobody leaves this band, unless it’s in a coffin”. One of the many great things about Green Day, that all of them stay together.
@@NovacaineRebelxx bodybag
because they don't have ego and are very humble, you can tell by how they speak, play and behave!
I'm so glad I got to be alive when Green Day's making music, they'll go down as one of the greats
They already are man.
Green Day are on par with The Clash and The Ramones. They'll never be forgotten.
Make sure you see them live they put on a great show.
agreed 100%
Same here man, kids these days don’t know real music anymore. I’m glad that I got to grow up listening to these guys. Definitely up there in the top best bands of all time.
I was just saying how "Say Goodbye" was a perfect sequel to "Holiday"! Absolutely lovely!!
Haley Lavach but boulevard of broken dreams is the official sequel
Yeah😂
Haley Lavach only thing better for this set would be that last chores going into boulevard of broken dreams
Is it officially a sequel?
The dude behind Billy is just paid to say "hey"
fucking sucks
I know. I tried out for the part but I have a weird kind of UK accent and it kept coming up more like "high" so they hired that other post.
hahahahaha
Kody Stott he also backup sings
He actually provides keyboards for the band but in this instance there are no keyboards to be played. Therefore they didnt set it up. Besides, it's for one song and it is small in there. I can appreciate the honesty and transparency of the band.
Mike isnt himself if he cant move around the stage
TheUnifiedGamer if they played welcome to Paradise there back in the 90’s the stage would have to move with him.
It's like watching Mikey Way (sorry I had too)
lol
Too little space to move
Probably there was no space to jump
Still badass always will be! Green day is fucking legendary
Agreed
love the mental preparation of the backing-vocals-guy in the background on the right.! 0:24
Epic observation mate! :D That's Jeff Matika from the Jeff Matika Show! :D
HEY
His name is Chris Fehn btw
this comment made me bust out laughing, good shit mate
Wow your good
Damn that was good.
Shotgun Rain 4 Lyf
"Jesus I gotta get in a band...Im inspired"
Where's Seamus? dw, we found him.
Come back, moose
Where's Seamus? not in the creatures
BJ never fails to impress me with his vocals. Gotta be one of the best live bands.
Billy's voice is always so clean
I love that they have a back up vocalist.
He looks so awkward though
Hi Travolta
Danny Starr Mike and Jason?
jeff matika, hes been there a while
Danny Starr and rythym guitarist
That bass guitar part at 2:18 🔥
Woah I loved the mixture of putting in 'Say Goodbye' in that bridge section and the lyric change
"Pulverized Donald Trump tower"-
Wiizardii that sucked haha
This guys doesn't age. They defied the laws of nature.
Still the same after 12-13 years. I discovered them when I was a high school freshman and now I am a working class dude and still listens and still a fan of them.
They always sound so incredible when they play in Howard Stern's studio. 💜
1:40 just looking at their hands
Yeah?
Why?
As a guitarist I can say because when you’re making a big jump from high up to the lower frets. You wanna make sure you hit the right strings. It’ll suck to try and show off and have it sound like shit. Especially live.
That’s usually what I do when nobody’s singing. It’s so cool to see them all moving in sync.
One of the best live performers. And they still kickass
Honestly, it seems that in this show the bands sounds best! First Metallica, this time, Greeen day. Awesome sound! \m/
František Vtelenský Nirvana?
František Vtelenský Stern is lucky to have Legends performing!
What does \M/ mean
Maroon 5
Yep. I just finished Metallica and now I'm on Green Day. All the artists sound so good on the show. Always look forward to musical guests on the show - Def Leppard was on this week.
@3:02 I know you all heard that 😏
When he started singing Say Goodbye in there, I was so happy, and I wish I'd get a medley with Holiday and Say Goodbye. I think those two songs will play mesh well together.
Uncle Dirnt with sleeves? Wat
He finally has the right amount of sleeve! :0
ikr
MandishFyre not full sleeves so it's fine
"Uncle dirnt" lol
It's a Mötörhead shirt, so i'll allow it
These videos let you see how the band really sounds live without them trying to yell over the audience
Bryan R Yep they’re one of the few bands that actually sound almost identical to their studio albums.
Awesome. These guys haven't lost a step
2:55 best part
They sound exactly like the album's. It really is amazing. Awesome voice!
the bridge is absolutely killer
Interestingly enough, when I was younger I heavily preferred Green Day's older stuff over American Idiot, but as I've matured, just like Green Day did, I've really come to appreciate this album more.
I'm in a serious relationship with the replay button right now
😂
I hope the play button was 18
Jajajajaja replay and replay Jajajaja XD me too
So am i
; )
Can we give a hand to Jason White? He carried the band all the way through the performance. That was awesome!
Geoffrey Gentry he’s not a great guitarist...
SO tight. Sounds like the studio version.
2:22 Billie - hey wait...did i take a shit before coming on stage..??.....yeahhh...i think i did..!!
Aww man i shouldn't have broke the toilet.
You...you missed a perfect opportunity to say Dookie...
I’m guessing you’re joking, but he was timing the song right for him to start singing the “Say Goodbye” part from their album Revolution Radio that was released around the same time this was recorded.
Glad to see Rivers Cuomo found additional work singing backup in Green Day
haha 😑
This band is absolutely timeless
Sounds EPIC! What a confident and flawless performance! Love it!
Sound is so incredible. Live version as good as the album version
Mike has a really good singing voice
Yes, yes he does...
Seriously fucking amazing
Absolutely fantastic sound engineering!
4:12 Jason: “Billie stop the songs over.”
Esta es la mejor versión live, lo hacen tan coordinados y muy limpio lpm
2:54 Billie nailed that part 🤟
is it me or does it look billies goes reverse, every year he looks like he goes younger rather older
he looks a bit older compared to when 21st century breakdown but Mike man, he looks the same as he looked in 1989 but with different hair.
make-up
tre is the one that looks more changed out of them 3
TheCellRazorMedia to me it looks like your grammar has gotten younger
how old is he I never really noticed.
3:01 🤟
That studio sounds amazing the sound is absolutely perfect whoever set that up😲🤘🔥
Mike with a Motorhead shirt.
I have to have one of those.
Icad Adli haha back in the 90s, he had the screeching weasel T for the Woodstock, now this motorhead..😅😅
Yeah so does my dad
Wow!!! This has to be one of the best Holiday performances ever! Awesome
Fantastic. Can't wait to see them in March!!

THIS IS THE SOUND OF NOSTALGIA 🎵 🎶
Green Day Holiday. Eu amo essa música. Melhor banda de rock do mundo.
They clearly have their live setup down to a science. This sounds like the album!
Seeing stuff like this makes me love everything about bands even more
I’m really not a green day fan, but I must respect that they kept it tight for about 14 years. His voice is brilliant
They still got it!
This band has brought so much joy to my life. Thank you Green Day, my first love ❤💕 rock on forever! \m/\m/
People rarely talk about the drums and bass, but they are so tight it allows Billy to do the thing that gets all the attention.
2:44
Damn, he sounds tired XD
Howard Stern's sound tech is badass at his job. Everything sounds pristine.
What a amazing performance!
It never gets old
Greatest band ever Billy you’re amazing in every aspect of life and music
Their earnings don't show it and neither does their musical prowess ...
2:43 I get the impression that billie is tired of that part
Yeah the eye roll
Maybe he’s tired of playing the song.
Rock is the best genre and Green Day proves it
I love you Green Day!!! you give me butterflies!!!
I love Green day forever....
The added members add a great fullness to the song.. Sounds great.
green day never fails to impress
The Best...From Kuala Perlis, Perlis Malaysia
You can always tell a good band when they sound the same if not better than the album version, Green Day is extremely talented
I met them yesterday in my store and got a selfie with them, they are very cool
🤘🏽 Green Day rocks! 💚 see em
In concert if you haven’t!
So so (so) good. Just awesome
I think its amazing that Billy Joe, despiste looking old and tired, still sounds awesome! Good old Green Day deserves out respect!
Kaio Fragoso He doesn’t look old wtf... he looks like he’s still 25
Loving this version. And can I just saw how much I love Tré and his drumming? I mean come on!

One of the best I’ve heard live!
one of the few bands who sound exactly same as the recording. great!
My favorite band😍😍
I love Green Day!!
Best version of this song out there
A melhor banda de todos os tempos

Love to see these live .
That was faultless!!
0:40 Billie didn't cross himself :(
No! I was trying not to notice it, but I have now and it will haunt my nightmares.
Being the "hey" backup singer must be a sweet gig
