How do I win ?
Part one, nope.
Part two, wait…huh???
Part tre’ …August 8th is a beautiful day.
Fuckin’ hippies.
I saw Tre in the waiting room of my ADHD doctor. I’m not saying he has adhd or anything just that he was in the waiting room.
Did you ask for an autograph?
@@BreaxSkatez I thought about it but being in a Doctors office I thought it would’ve been inappropriate.
Nice bro
That’s sick man
@@rockerbob949 Mad respectful 🤘
Way underrated drummer his speed and more importantly his accuracy is amazing. He always is on point and not many could fill his role in the band.
Fr he’s interesting he’s like fat mike from NOFX
I am a drummer because of 'MudStock'. Watched on PPV as a kid while it was happening and said "I want to do what that guy is doing". Love the respect and love shown towards Tre in this video, he has done a lot more for drummers than people know.
jimmy fallon had the same villain arc
I saw that, recorded it on VHS lmao. My respect goes to Dirnt who had a tooth blown to bits and *still* finished the rest of the set with a busted smile on his face.
Tre is Cool
I was there
Lucky boi
Tre's drums are actually memorable and somewhat iconic. People instantly recognise the drums in Longview and the fills in American Idiot. He stands out in solos like Jesus Of Suburbia and Burnout, and Are We The Waiting is simple but legendary.
I can't think of any of his contemporarys who you could say the same about
I wouldn't say he's on the same level of memorability, but Travis Barker is extremely talented as well. Hell, I'd rank him above Tre Cool on pure skill as a diehard Green Day fan.
Definitely one of the most pivotal punk bands ever, and all three are to thank for that! Tre's drumming with Billie and Mike's guitar and bass made them a force to be reckon with.
The American Idiot album was one of the main albums that got me into drumming! So much love for these guys.
@@DrumBeatsOnline For sure! They rule, especially in the 90s and 00s!
BuT gReEn DaY iSnT pUnK!!!
the impossible job .....lolllllllllllllllllll pretty average
You clearly don't know what punk is.
Tre is a fucking beast, there’s no doubt about it! Him an Neil peart are my biggest drumming inspirations of all time.
Neil Peart was a legend 🫡
Agreed
Finally Tré gets the recognition he deserves ❤
Hell yeah go green day
hello fellow good omens fan
@@killjoy9431 hello fellow MCR fan!
Bruh
I started off drumming to Green Day songs back in 2017. Still playing today loving it more than ever. Tre is a legend
Been a fan of Green Day and Tre's drumming since I picked up a copy of Dookie in the 90's. Not going to deny I've used a few of his licks in plenty of songs over the years since.
Hi Tim how’re you, it’s amazing to know you’re such a great fan of us. When are you from?🌺🌺🌺🌺
Green Day are like the Powerpuff Girls. You cannot switch or replace any of them, they're all brothers of equal talent and it's either all or none of them.
It's so inspiring that they've loved each other and stuck together for 30 years. I think Insomniac is the perfect example of what they can individually do combined. And yes, Tre' is a fantastic lunatic and a lovable dork of epic proportions.
Like sublime was..up til Rome showed up....with no name change. Sacrilege
tre cool is the reason i’ve played drums now for 18 years. they were my first concert when i was 10. i still play along to green day to this day
I heard somewhere that when he was first given a drum kit, he loved the symbols so much he was just continually playing them, so Larry Livermore took them away until he could play the kick, snare and toms really well. This is probably why he has the stile he does.
Tre could not be replaced, he is an absolute monster. I got the white cassette of dookie at age 9 and I have been absolutely addicted ever since. Green day brings the magic and inclusivity of ICP without some of the embarrassing ass bs that made me retire from juggaloism, but I will always love green day
What Happened to the original drummer.
He quit to go to college. @@4touchdowns1game29
He left the band to pursue a college education. I'm sure that, to this day, he doesn't regret that decision in the slightest. @@4touchdowns1game29
Even before Blink 182 and Travis Barker, it was Green Day's American Idiot album that one thing that got me into music. Jesus of Suburbia's video was everything I was feeling back then and got that angstiness that would make me embarrassed of watching it with my parents.
They were my gateway to punk music and lifestyle and later to learn how to play drums
None of those listed were punk. I don't know what gateway you went through, but you seem to have ended up somewhere very far away from punk rock.
@@ManifoldSky yeah definitely, after going throught bands like casualties, clash and all the ska thing, ended up in the NOFX Fat wrechords thing, Then hardcore, then.... oh man nowadays I just listen to sublime and play drums over rap artists 😂😂
@@ManifoldSkyman, I started with green day , ended up loving nomeansno, dead kennedys, descendents
Loving the new features in the Academy. Make sure you all get on the list. Gabe is an amazing teacher. You can not go wrong. Hope to see you all there. DBO FOR LIFE.
So glad you're liking them! We're working hard on some new ones as well!!
@DrumBeatsOnline heck yeah. I can not wait.
Fun fact: Green Day picked Tre Cool during a talent show where he played drums dressed up as a clown.
just repeat the video why dont you
False. They saw him playing with The Lookouts at Larry Livermore’s house.
@@ligairithat’s what I thought
I heard it was at a house party
It was a shower cap and a tutu
I remember hearing “disappearing boy” on the Plan B skate video and was hooked. I learned every song on 1,039 and can still play it too to bottom. Thank you Tré for being a huge influence 🤘🏽
You know that’s the one record Tré wasn’t on right?
@@limpneckmike yup, by the time I picked it up they were coming around with Kerplunk and it had the same effect. Love all the tunes and drumming 👍🏽
@@cvnb77 dang, you’ve been listening since the Gilman days! That’s crazy!
It makes me so incredibly happy to know that my dad had them play for his band once. I’m not totally sure on the details, but I think it’s so cool!
Hi princess merry Christmas, how’re your. Where are you from?
7:36 absolutely 100% yes. This was one of the reasons he became one of my most influential drummers of all time and one of the reasons i started drumming. I freaking love Tom Drums and the sounds they can produce, and when someone knows how to use em right, it just makes me love them even more lol The famous tom drum parts in Holiday and American Idiot are so fun and satisfying ASF to play along with. Tre Cool is just insane on the drums
Everytime someone says punk music, I can't help not to think in Green Day. Basket Case was my favorite, just seen the drummer in a wheelchair was iconic. After watching him (by the time in MTV) on Woodstock, I knew that he have some loose screws, but that was not a problem in the rock/metal industry. You are never too crazy.
Tre cool is one of my favorite drummers not only for his chops but because of his feel. I don't care how fast some metal drummer plays, you can't replicate musicality. Nuff said.
Tre cool is one of the best drummers he can cut and trem anything
I'm not much of a fan of Green Day, but I gained a certain appreciation for them after one of them (I forget who) mentioned that they were just trying to emulate Husker Du. The day I realized that their heroes were the same as mine, I guess I saw them a little differently. I don't necessarily listen to them, but I'm glad they're around.
This is the kind of mutual respect that should be around even if you don’t like a band, you can acknowledge, understand and respect what they do.
honestly same. I fell out of love after American Idiot dropped. It didn't live up to what I loved about Dookie and Nimrod. But I can't deny I'm happy that a rock band got the recognition they deserved in a time where the genre was/is dying.
Dave, Travis, and Tre, my three favorite drummers (honorable mention to Taylor Hawkins)
What about Alex Bent from Trivium? He is insane ☺️
Tre is HOW i learned to drum. Played dookie and, insomniac, and nimrod on my walkman till the tapes nearly wore out and i would air drum with makeshift drumsticks. Ended up as drummer for my church and then choir. I would throw in a little tre spice into things 😅
I’m a guitar player, but this channel is very inspiring and confirms the value of a great drummer in any band. I try and program midi drums in my home studio, but I just don’t have “drummer blood”! maybe I should take this course and better understand how to create killer drum grooves?
Now I love this bend even more didnt know it was possible to love a band THIS MUCH THANK U GREEN DAY
They were the 2nd concert i ever got to go to. Saw them when they were touring right after Revolution Radio dropped, and Tre MADE that show. Billie, Mike, and the touring members they had definitely put out some energy and it wouldve been a great concert, but Tre turned it into a performance. He started solo kickdancing while singing, was pulling all sorts of drum tricks, and even had a few solo interludes that were amazing. The trios a phenonal act.
I don’t know much about drums but THAT at 10:02 is so good, I remember playing that part over and over as a child just bc of how good it sounded, so cool to see you play it perfectly
What surprised you the most about Tre Cool?? Let me know 👇

that tre cool is a madman
Tre Cool's persistence is unmatched! One of the best modern rock drummers alongside taylor hawkins and travis barker
each member of green day is so incredibly unique and talented. put all 3 together and you get punk rock heaven
People will tell you Green Day isn't punk because they are popular, while praising Misfits in the same breath.
and billie got inspired by Ramones…the punk band that basically started the whole essence of punk
@@chaoticfanboy47 every Ramones "fan" I knew in high school didn't know a single album of theirs, but could namedrop and insult Green Day's whole discography lol
I saw Green Day live for the first time @ Lollapalooza ‘94. I actually ran into Tré Cool at a little setup where they were selling hemp shoes. Anyhow, Billy Joe asked the audience to give him their Birkenstocks & everyone threw them on stage. They also had a weird mannequin on stage. Although I wasn’t a big fan, they were amusing & I enjoyed their set.
I was just watching the foo fighters episode and this pops up 😂
Heck yeah!
Seeing images of Rush in a video about Green Day is awesome, two iconic trios and even more iconic drummers
Green Day and especially Tre, the music and the humor and the conversations that their music makes totally healed my relationship with my dad.
This is exactly why Billie, Tré and Mike are like family.
Grew up loving these guys and typed out the bands name every time for my email for 15 years before switching to Gmail and retiring it.
Awesome! One of my favorite band, and one of my first covers ( Novacaine) this one I could do but a lots of the others I have to half hi hat to be able to follow when jamming with friends ( for now lol working on it ) thank you Gabe for this video, I looove this serie ✌
That's so awesome! Yeah his hi hats are always super quick, but I know you'll get there soon enough!
Trey is and always will be one of the greatest drummers in musical history! Seeing him preform live is a must if you are a fan. His energy is incendiary!
Found your channel through this! RUclips knows I click on Green Day videos. Love this. Amazing narration and editing 🤘
One of my favorite band during High School. ❤❤❤ Green Day.
When you said knew these tendency’s tre looked naked😂
Definitely sick toms!!! My favorite in the kit. Well, except for the double base. Mix those and 💥
2:12 ..... OMFG! Billie Joe's NECK!!!!
*Calling a Chiropractor to the stage please, again, a Chiropractor to the stage 😵
Green Day's graduation song is the most bad ass song of all time!!!! I listen to it 24/7 it's so good!!!
Ironically, Warning was the album that made me a Green Day fan. I never warmed up to Dookie much, and Warning has Macy's Day Parade.
Warning was an awesome album. I was surprised that they had a second wind in them and could do American Idiot. Nobody paid any attention to them at that time. They were old news.
I loved the Warning album but yeah they weren’t hugely popular at that time. They opened for Blink 182 then and I have to say GD blew Blink outta the water. Such a tight band 🎉
I am 53 and my dad was into brass bands so I have heard a lot of drums from stuff like Skin Deep right the way through and can honestly say he is the best drummer I have ever heard for one reason that you haven't mentioned: His timing is perfect. If you listen really carefully to any Greenday song and then listen to the drums on any other rock track you notice the timing is out; Not by enough for a casual listen but still a bit out. With Tre there isn't a beat out of place anywhere.
I am 70 years old and my husband and I went to see them in Charlotte 5 days ago and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to my life and yeah I've been to quite a few great ones
i do not know if this is a series, but i love this format
theyre legit, thats it. best damn concert i ever went to and they have good songs. end of story im not even a huge green day guy
His hi-hat and tom moves are all taken right from the Tommy Ramone handbook. Granted, they're taken to their logical extreme, but yeah, he owes it all to Tommy (and by extension Marky) Ramone.
You HAVE to do one about Dan Searle (drummer of Architects, my all time favourite band)
Late to the party but one of the three guys who got me into drumming with Dave grohl and Travis barker
I saw these guys a few weeks ago at Nats stadium in DC…hadn’t seen them in 25 years and they still rocked the heck outta the venue…for 2.5 hours!🤘
I didnt know what the term was before but now I know It's the Tom! You'll know it's Tre immediately!
Controversial take: Objectively speaking, Green Day is the greatest punk band ever
ノア、ああ نوح اه Նոյ, հա Noah uh
2:05 Them playing this specific song to the host is wild 💀
I just saw green day for the first time this past sunday, their Saviours tour...they played 2 entire albums..and a couple covers...the energy was intense! I've seen a lot of concerts and these guys are definitely the hardest working guys in the music business...all 3 of them barely had anything left by the last song...21/2: hours of straight up punk rock mayhem...at one point you could feel the whole stadium literally bouncing
I did not realize the whole first ballot Hall Of Fame thing. That is incredible.
They didn't just take over and play a song... they played The Grouch, lol. Recovery was morning Music show on a Saturdy in Australia... Utterly Brilliant.
It's so crazy a band that plays nothing but bar chords is so good lol. Dookie literally consisted of like 6 different chords and it was an absolute masterpiece, paired with the absolutely insane drumming of Tre
I'm so glad I saw this video and see Green Day is still getting love, I see kids wearing Green Day shirts and they don't even know who they are. This band will always live in my heart 💚🖤💚🖤
My favorite drummer of all time who constantly inspires me!!!
As I move toward 30 and still love drumming, I realize a lot of what I picked up on was from the Insomniac tape my grandpa had when I was a kid. He got it for my cousin who, by that point had moved on. My sister and I, 10 years younger, were enamored.
i don't even know why this video made my cry for like 20 minutes and i still can't stop
Green Day is one of the most influential punk/rock bands in history, it's no surprise that they were first ballot.
You should do one for Dave Grohl and Nirvana, and Sean Kinney and Alice In Chains
He definitely one of my favorite drummers ever
The editing on this video is really cool. Kind of reminds me of the MTV stuff I used to watch growing up
wow dude. what a world we live in. Keep livin the dream dude, I love your band.
John Dolmayan from System Of A Down also has an interesting style of drumming
He doesn’t get the amount of recognition he truly deserves. He’s so talented and extremely technical in his drumming skills that I have a hard time figuring out how he does some of the things he does on the kit
@@michaelbubnis4768 thats what ive heeard and noticed too truly talanted but doesnt get the recognition at all
I love tre cool so much
Not to mention Billie Joe is a very percussive guitarist and Tre is great about finding drum beats that compliment that rather than overpower it, even when Tre is also playing at breakneck speeds. Or all the times Billie Joe has Tre and Mike playing the same measure over and over while he interacts with the crowd, showing how much endurance Tre and Mike have (especially in the Nimrod-Warning era when Billie would do this during "Platypus" which is one of their fastest songs).
I yesterday went to one of their concerts, tré is just so silly and funny, all three of them are amazing and gave an absolutely sick show, THE SAVIORS TOUR HAS JUST BEGAN !!!!! ⭐⭐
Always loved Green Day, Tre is such a wakey guy. Love it!
1:53 was staged. That show was about a depressed TV host trying to get himself back together
Tre is freaking awesome!!
Green Day is my all time fav!
10:33 I think Mike was also preparing for a fight with the way he was holding that bass
I remember buying Dookie just because the store clerk recommended it. Still have that CD to this day
Learning that Tré went to circus camp is hilarious and I’m surprised I didn’t figure that out sooner!
Lots of drummers make crazy faces, but Tre Cool's are unforgettable lmao.
He snorts donut sprinkles!!!! 😳🤣❤️💯
Its all thanks to Greenday and their song Basket case I started drumming over 17 years ago! Thanks alot!!!
I was pulled on stage at the warehouse in Toronto in 2000 to play drums, inspired to play cause of tré
3:53 yes and i plan to
I saw them do a fan band at Mesa Amphitheater on their Warning Tour, back in 2000/01. It’s pretty rad!
I’m so excited to see them on tour in 2024
My english teacher used to be the neighbor of the garage they used to practice. we got to meet them too.
He shaped so much of my style, alongside Brett Reed, Ron Welty and Smelly.
Gotta love the subtle Grohl shade 04:20
I was at that Tower Records show! It was so awesome!
Ironically one of my favorite albums is Warning and i was upset we didn't get a 20th anniversary release but we have the 25th next year if they warn up to it
This is making me have second thoughts about going to a concert...
Tre's job is so hard because he'll have to vamp for 10 min while Billie Jo does his routines lol
Shut up
Tre COOL 😂 what a name 🔥
