electricpants yeah but it takes skill to keep that tempo up the entire song once you’ve decided it, especially when you have long rests where the drummer doesn’t play

Any band that sounds just like the album when they play live is a good band
That's because they had to add 2 more people to the band without actually having them being In the band.
Their albums are heavily over dubbed with multiple players of guitars. So when they played live it didn't sound the same. For years they didn't sound very good live. Then they got another guy to cover on guitar and a keyboardist to fill in all the gaps.

Rock will never die, it's still one of the biggest genres and I'd even say the rock scene is more alive than ever, but its happening less in the mainstream media. The mainstream media needs simple content for simple people, but just take a look at the album charts, mostly rock, since rock fans spend more money on the artists they love because they're not replaceable.
Crazy that they still sound amazing live in 2019. Never heard a bad a performance from them.
I really love how tre plays the drum passionately at the same time having fun even at that age

I love Tre's drum sound in these Stern clips. It's very basement/garage band sounding. The sound seems more intimate than a normal TV show/radio show set up. 3:23 old school Billie Joe guitar solo!

I saw Green Day back in the late 90s in Knoxville Tennessee on the Vans Warped Tour, and they were freaking awesome, me being a little bit older based rocker these guys put on a hell of a show. Pulled this kid from the audience and strapped a guitar around him and the kid did a great job jamming with the band. How cool is that.
