Also, don't take this to heart people! Black cars are COOL. They look sexy when clean; this is just me complaining about how hard it is to maintain and/or other drawbacks associated with owning a black car!

Without a doubt, black paint is the hardest color to maintain on a car. This video will go into my 4 reasons why you should definitely consider other colors if you're serious about keeping your car clean!

Yeah, I got my Honda Civic Si in white and I am extremely happy with it. The pearl pops in the sunlight and it’s beautiful at night as well!
These are very valid warnings, but oh my god. I started with a white car, thought I loved it, and black was boring. Then I got my next car in black, and that has made me appreciate my car so much more. I love a blacked out car, so pulling up in everything all smokey just feels great to me. And learning to take care of it SUPER good, because you have to with a black car, has made me appreciate it soooo much more.
A ceramic coating is what you need. Expensive but worth it.

All this time, I've been having a little trouble deciding which color should I choose for my future car, but after watching this, I realize now that black is NOT a good choice. I think I'll stick with white, which is much easier to handle.

White vehicles look like company vehicles without logos on them. Now pearl white that flips colors in the sun light is nice but you don't see that often. I believe it came factory on some Cadillacs.

Silver is my fav color, in regards to practicality, for look wise ceramic finish or matte finish almost always looks soo much better than most
White is my favorite. I've had a white Ford Fusion, two white Super Duty's, and now a white Camaro. But one thing I would say against white is it's a very bad idea for those who live in snow country. And for that same reason, I shy away from gray and silver because they blend with the road surface.

Have a '96 SVT Cobra, #3341. Black on black. Air conditionong keeps it cool in the summer. The swoopy coke bottle shape looks absolutely stunning in black, and as long as I dont use dirt roads, stays relatively clean looking.

I got a charcoal gray car with black accents and rims. And I can go for weeks without washing it because it camouflages dirt so well. Probably the best color to keep clean
@Nathan Cruz: My G35 was a color called Desert Platinum - looked silver most of the time, but with right light/angle looked gold. I could go over a month without washing - and it always looked clean! My '86 Buick GN was black over gray cloth wasn't so bad with heat, but ALWAYS looked dirty. Got an unlimited wash card from White Glove. I'd have it washed 4-5 times a week...

Steam ships back in the day had black hulls... But when they were new, they'd be painted white or light gray for press release pictures so that the curvature and details would show up better on older cameras.

lol. slapping a Ducati sticker on a vespa doesnt make it a Ducati...no matter how hard you revv at a red light. A V6 on a muscle car does nothing but kill the brand. Underneath a V6 mustang body is still just another family sedan. Too many in my hood if you ask me haha. they all sound like they install silencers on the exhaust.

1. Wash + Clay Bar + Rinse with distilled water (1 gal) + Pinnacle Wax (2 coats)... fixed. (only have to rinse off car once per month or two after that)
2. Tinted windows to the legal limit (SolarTek 3M)... fixed.
3. Corvette C6 Grand Sport looks great in black. Lines are sleek like a cat.
4. Clay Bar (see 1) and don't swirl-on paint, apply with the lines (sorry Mr. Miyagi).

dont clay bar the car unless you are going to professionally polish it with a company or by yourself at some point. clay barring will scratch your vehicle, you might not see it at first but you will over time. if you arent going to polish but want to remove the tar build up, use a high quality wax and tar remover with several new microfiber cloths for each panel and throw them away, this will cause far less scratching than clay barring. just wax your car every 3 months and use a quality shampoo inbetween with two bucket cleaning method and a pressure washer used at distance. if you want to keep your paint nice, get it professionally polished once a year, you can clay bar before you take it in to reduce costs.
I own a blk 335i, with black leather interior, and I agree. BUT, the upside is I can hide in the shadows at night when I go to Mexico

It really depends where you live. I own a black car and even if it's slightly dirty, it still looks very nice. Sometimes it looks clean for up to 2 weeks.

I should have watched this before I bought my 2015 BLACK mustang. After I took it for first time to carwash I noticed thousands of light scratches when sun was hitting
A good detailer and polish will usually take those fine scratches right out.

That’s all true but fully black outside with solid black rims and tires and heavy tinted windows go perfect in the night!
