As a fellow content creator and a guy who has been building cars since 1996, I have two project cars. A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT and a 1975 Ford Maverick. Every one of the things you mentioned... yeah... don't get me started. However, your list could have gone on longer. How about RUclips creators telling people to turbo engines for more when the engine may not hold up to a turbo... or the stress a turbo puts on a daily driver and how it may not be right for the build. There is a ton more that we could talk about that is hurting the culture.
I had a very modified 1G Eclipse Turbo “missile” as a daily driver when I was young…er. Had to start in second gear to avoid way too rapid acceleration in traffic - or at the drive through. The clutch friction point was minuscule. Suspension could hang on to turns like frickin’ glue, but you felt every Midwest asphalt bump like it was a ditch. It’s much easier to get a fast car designed to be used on a road instead of modifying an “ok” for track and tooling about to work and the grocery. Great video!
if you're broke, you should probably reconsider getting a wrap in the first place. put your money where you actually need it, not in luxury goods. maybe use it to invest first so you can have more stuff that you want to get in the future. to clarify, i mean luxury goods as in stuff that you dont actually need in order to do a living.
@@hoehere_Gewalt You think investing is easy and a walk in a park, but it's not. I may know NOTHING about investment but I know for a fact that it's a risky game and if your not careful, you can lose EVERYTHING you made and own.

In Sweden, A Volvo 740 and 940 can cost more than a 3rd gen V70 (aka "Fas 2"). The cheapest V70 you can get is probably the 2nd gen V70 (V70N, aka "Nicklas"). At least if you want one in good condition. It also depends on what year model it is. A base model 2013-2016 V70II can set you back a good 150 000 to 200 000SEK (equivalent to roughly 12-16k USD). If you want a more powerful engine or a more luxurious interior, you might have to pay about 10k more. A V70N, in good condition can cost between 15 000 and 150 000SEK, depending on if it's an 01-04 or an 05-07. 05-07 is the facelift version and they tend to go for a higher price. They come with painted plastic lists on the corners and on the doors, as well as clear glass headlights. Sun roof? Turbo? If so, which engine is it? Summum or Momentum package? Leather, half leather or plush seats? Electric or manual adjustment seats? Black or baige interior? Has it been recently inspected and is it taxed? Has it ever been in an accident? I bought a newly inspected, silver, black leather interior, 2001 V70 2.4T (200hp) imported from the US. Set me back 20 000SEK (about 1800USD, or so)
@@rohdger3390 not really no. it's only prohibited when it significantly decreases safety for yourself and/or others, emissions worsen, sound is unreasonably loud or the parts are not allowed on the streets in the first place. many mods can just be slapped on no problem but performance enhancing mods and anything of great significance have to be noted and checked if it raises risk of accidents or lowers safety in case of an accident. there are guidelines to what mods need to be noted in the papers, are prohibited or are free to be installed and also what mods that don't have to be reported alone but when in combination with other mods could cause them to have to be reported and checked. it's strict, yes, and not very clear what is allowed and what not but all in all I'd say it's for the better. body kits for instance might be legal or might be illegal. depends on what does the "TÜV" says. does it compromise safety? has the body kit been specifically made for this car in germany and has already been regulated? are there already cars around that have been given a "yes" with this kit? you have to do a bit more work and check what you can do to your car if you wanna stay legal and not have to pay up but it doesn't mean you can't have some fun. i saw an extremely stanced beetle with a VERY obnoxious body kit the other. perfectly legal.

Sounds like a boomer's take on car cultures. I lost all hope when the word interweb pops out. Here is the thing. He had about half of them right, like the JDM hype and the over the top showoffs. But many of the other things? People spend the money they want it to. If they want to "ruin" their car with a stance, what harm will that do to you? These movements are not ruining the car culture, but the gate keepers saying what is cool and what are not, are.
Exactly! I have never been turned away from a car meet simply because I choose to keep my 88 Chevy IROC Z bone stock. Hell I even have the original GM Delco cassette deck in it.. There is NOTHING wrong with what a person expresses in their car. The only wrong is when a hipster tells us it's wrong solely because HE doesn't like it.
@Sickotato Speak of the devil. We got someone here that matched all the description. How you doing gate keeper? Having fun minding someone else's business? You can express yourself but you better keep that to yourself because you are the exact people who I am and have been taking about.
You're such a hypocrite, honestly, You start with how wraps are "ruining" car culture yet you have a wrapped Porche, I don't see how wrapping a car ruins the culture when it can be part of the culture and good for people who can't afford paint. It's easy to find shops that wrap well and it's not too expensive. Painting is nice and all, but so is wrapping a car; wraps if done right can actually protect the paint from being scratched, isn't as much money, and sure they might be a pain to remove or if it tears in one spot you might have to remove the whole thing, but that's what happens when you pay less. Wrapping isn't ruining the car culture, infact if anything it's improving the culture by allowing more creativity and cheaper way(s) to improve the look of your car while expressing yourself. Stancing cars isn't ruining the culture either, like you mentioned you'd prefer a lifted Porche over a stanced one while others may have a swapped opinion. Yes, stancing has become popular in the recent years, but it is in no way ruining the culture and community. Not everyone would want a lifted Porche, not everyone wants a stanced Porche, that's how it is. A lot of the time stancing is done to improve the driving, for example cambering the front tires on a drift vehicle/missile helps improve grip, as when turning the wheels dependent on the angle the wheel will gain positive camber, therefore adding negative camber to a certain degree helps improve grip and all around drivability. Widebodying a vehicle isn't ruining the community or the culture, just like stancing, these can all be counted as sub-cultures as widebodies may be used for multiple reasons, whether it be for looks or to help with aerodynamics. None of these ruin the culture in the slightest. Just like widebodies, stancing, wrapping, and more, these add to the community creating jobs for enthusiasts and allow you to further express yourself with your car and be creative. Sure there aren't too many big widebody manufacturers, but there are plenty that make fully custom widebody kits. They're just more expensive so you don't see them as much. As for hyped up prices, you're honestly making yourself look absolutely stupid here, it's called supply and demand. Sure the cars are older but that doesn't mean the price is going to be lowered due to the age. Like the example you gave of the Supra. For reasons such as The Fast and Furious movie(s) this vehicle has had a lot more demand. Unfortunately they do not make the Mk. 4 Supra anymore as they've moved on to the Mk. 5 which means there's less supply. What happens when there's less supply and more demand? Prices go through the roof. That's basic knowledge even an 8 yr old would have. As for the prices being all over the place, again, that's how it works. A vehicle may drive like a $10,000 car but cost $50,000 for supply and demand reasoning. A vehicle may drive like a $50,000 car but cost $10,000 because there's more supple and less demand. As for missles, you don't exactly explain how these are "ruining" the culture so I'm not going to talk about it too much. Yes, you did mention how some people take them on the streets when they're meant for tracks, but that could be for reasons you don't even know. They could be transporting the car, bringing it to a meet, just trying to drive it around, show it off, have some fun, whatever the case may be. I don't understand how these in any means would ruin the culture ame with the rest. The title for this next one is "RUclipsrs" but you mention almost nothing about them. This just makes you more hypocritical as you are a car youtuber yourself. Though you do mention that you see so many Lambo's but nothing else. This is just peoples taste and if you can't tell, Lamborghinis are a popular Supercar across the world. You mention that you want to see more Supercar variety then start to complain about McLarens which aren't even Supercars. Yes they're super popular across the car side of youtube and the youtube platform in general, but again, this is peoples taste. It's so stupid to the point I'd call you a toddler as you mention that you can pick up a Murcielago for the price of a Huracan. You are mistaken. A 2021 Huracan EVO goes for around 208,000 whereas a Murcielago SV runs for 354,000. Those don't look close to me... I'm not even going to start on talking about how you compared a Huracan to an R8. McLarens are classified as Hypercars btw. You mention how the 650s looks Identical to the 570s, but say the 650s looks better. Want to run that by me again? At this point just change the name of the video to "8 Trends I personally don't care for" the way you word this whole video you do nothing but go on about how certain things are hurting your feelings. I mean come on. All of these are preferences people have with their own cars. They aren't ruining the culture but making it even more diverse. Who hurt you? Sure plastidipping isn't always the best option, but instead of hating on plastidip how about you make a video explaining why plastidip can be harmful for your wallet and your car at certain times. Actually educate people if you want to run a channel about cars and the community, don't hate on peoples preferences. Sure, showing off can be dangerous (especially stang drivers, we see you with those tally marks on your window) but it isn't ruining the culture. It may be annoying when that happens and you're either the driver or you and or your car get hit. But at the end of the day it's all about having fun and sometimes that means spinning out and hitting a tree. Lesson learned. Besides, we all know there would be no such thing as those popular "HILARIOUS Car FAILS!!!" videos without our beloved Mustang drivers.
The one trend that annoys me is cars that have the look, but not the power, to back up mods like aggressive front splitters, stances or cambers. I think you covered that, but I just had to mention it again.
@@briankramer8434 wrapping is literally better for people that like to change their cars color multiple times in less than let say 2-3 years. There is no point in spending $6k+ in paint when you can buy 3 different wraps for that price.

Germany has this problem, where if your car mods arent from the factory, its prohibited from the streets. Or something like that.

@Sickotato OK boomer
Why you mad. He even said that he was guilty of it. He just think that it can ruin it. Grow up and act your age.
You're such a hypocrite, honestly,
You start with how wraps are "ruining" car culture yet you have a wrapped Porche, I don't see how wrapping a car ruins the culture when it can be part of the culture and good for people who can't afford paint.

@@beto.satxxx nah buts it’s interesting when they look different
Use a heat gun for wrap removal and you won’t peel the clear lol
My least favorite trends IMHO are:
1) Turbo everything. Don't get me wrong turbos are great, they're just not the end all be all.
2) Big wheels & skinny tires. I miss the days of 15-16" wheels that looked good and still gave you enough side wall to give you a good ride as well.
True. I hate guys who turbo the beautiful ap1 motor of s2000 like that motor has the record for highest hp/litre of na engine ever and your literally insulting the car by turboing it
I don’t see how stancing my car, wrapping it and putting a wide body is RUINING car culture
Because its like a trend that dies quick… like spinner wheels
i'm ok with wrapping and wide body, like, i love it, but please no stance cars, btw, this guy seems like an idiot
Whos here when the title is wrong bc he said there was 8 trends
we may talk trash about stance cars but have you seen the ppl that drive them half the time they got a huge smile
I really love it when people attempt to personalize their rides. They always get my attention. Both good or bad. Do I customize my rides? Nope, but I also (usually) hold onto vehicle long enough to form that relationship with. Besides I currently have 4 (really 5) vehicles. I’d sooner just find another cheap used/discounted bar find. Interesting trends though. Thanks for the video.
That Fairlady Z in the thumbnail looked cute!
Purrr
I fucking loved it lol
The widebody cars look so nice, like stop hating just because you don’t like it 🤦
agreed
All of it is "Ideal's opinion" and isn't ruining any culture. Close-minded taste to cars is against car culture... And 9:24 to another fallen boi that can't keep up with Fonzie's guideline...
Wrecked handling for stance is not an opinion though.
Lamborghini Huracan and Nissan GT-R are just ridiculous common nowadays. I'd rather take the R8 or Honda NSX, because they're more special and genuinely look better in my opinion.
Which NSX? The new one or the old one?
@@johnconnor7501 the new one, since we talk in general about new cars here. The old one is a charm though
@@DefinitelyNotEmma I like the old one more. The new one looks too generic, like a Hyundai from far away.
Ideal Media, you So killed this. One year after & these trends got even Worse, smh.
Hello ! to the EARLY GANG🤙

I 100 percent agree with the wrap but as you said in the video wraps are cheaper and they can look absolutely stunning when done right so if you want to change your cars appearance it can be a great option
I feel like he's the type of person that only listens to one genre of music and says all other music isn't real music
POV: your reading my comment.
I can't disagree
You're sorry
It’s hard to argue with his assessment
Yup
At least if you correctly differentiated "You're" and"Your".
If u hate wide bodies,stance and wraps u ain’t a car guy 😂😂
I'm gonna be brutally honest, I love the content you guys produce and its very informative. However, the format of this video just made it sound like old trends hating on new trends. It just people who cant adapt to new trends and new generation tastes. Not trying to talk smack but the video just sounded really old head like.
I agree in some things and disagree in others but i respect that
I appreciate your vision of the car culture, i hope it keeps evolving forward to see whats next to come!!
I dont have a car for now but im going in this train for years, when i have one i will take care of him better than myself 😂
