I think that you have captured the essence of the golf swing here Johnathon. I have been caught in this backswing/downswing transition mindset which I believe has ruined my game for a long time. You should not have to continuously think about swinging in a mechanical way it should be a flow of energy as you describe. Many thanks.
What a novel idea Jonathan. Very refreshing after all the boring minutia A video on 'unlearning bad swing habits' would also be appreciated Regards, Bill
Does a wave stop before it hits the beach? Does a flag just stop blowing in the wind and then start blowing again? When swinging on a porch swing do u stop go stop go? The women who do belly dancing are actually moving their hips in a figure 8. Their body is going so fast that u can't tell. If u want your children to be athletes rock them in a figure 8 motion it will give them a head start.
@@JonathanTaylor63 I do have a question with that in mind. Always my problem with the windmill drill is that I can do the big circle and get good results. However, as soon as I stop exaggerating the motion and try to make the circle much smaller, it doesn't work, or at least that's when it seems to break down for me. How do I maintain the drill and translate it to a real swing so it doesn't look like a giant circle, but maintain that principle?

Love this felling. Great stuff.
That was excellent!
Was it?
Tried this today on the driving range and had remarkable result! Maybe it is just the releasing of tension.
Martin Ayres: Aussie Golf Pro genius has been touting this for years.
Thanks for that, I checked him out and he has some great stuff, especially with Steve Elkington!
Found this sort of independently. I’m amazed more people don’t talk about it.
Me too😂
The stopping at the top seems to be very popular with the Asian players of today, with great success.
Yep, and they drill themselves to work with it.
Can I stop between shots if I want?
No, you must never stop swinging
100 percent aggree

What you're talking about sounds essentially like the windmill drill

Playing golf not golf swing.
And what would you say to Hideki Matsuyama?
There will always be exceptions☺️
Anything you like, his English is terrible!😂
