    Sam- can you confirm.. purchased the steppers in the link for my mega x... the chips seem to be on the underside, so fitting the heatsinks on the top wouldn't do much? also, is it worth checking the settings of the existing stock steppers before removing so that the tmc2208 can be set to the same on install? Great vid, but was a little quick- watching it back a couple of times as don't want to knacker the printer by installing wrong.. also, can you add a link for the bed springs please?

    Hi there, I ordered a MegaX a week ago and I'm exited for it to arrive. I was looking up tips and tricks about it and stumbled upon this video. I was wondering if using different versions of the tmc2208 would have an effect on the printer. Thanks for such a great vid!

    Thanks!

    • @TheRealSamPrentice
      @TheRealSamPrentice  2 года назад +2

      Hey There, okay so is the wobble due to the hex nuts needed to be adjusted? If you pop the printer on its side you'll see the little black wheels a couple of them with have a nut that you can slightly tighten. Be sure not to go crazy! just tweek it. Hi Sam,
    Did you not feel the need to fit an extra fan as is recommended for the TMC2208 drivers?.
    How do you check the drivers with the multimeter and tune them?.
    Also is that an app that you used to measure the sound?.
    I have a Mega X and the same TMC2208 drivers but I plan on changing the driver heatsinks to lower and wider ones so I don't need to move the fan.

    • @TheRealSamPrentice
      @TheRealSamPrentice  3 года назад

      Nope I didn't fit another fan, I felt that the airflow was adequate. I also didn't check with a multimeter either, the printer is spot on tho and printing day in and out :) The app I used is called BD meter on the app store :)

      It was the new drivers you were checking or testing in the video with the multimeter, I couldn't quite see what parts of the drivers you were touching with the leads. You mentioned that you tuned the drivers to 0.85, is that fairly simple to do?.
