So can I take out the original, but a new one and get it flashed by APR and install the flashed ECU. Then I can put back the original one if I need warranty work?
I'm not a 100% but I think that would be more body control module or ignition. ecu is usually strictly engine management. just like the tcu is strictly to control module :) can always check with your local vw tuning shop
+ghostlyrich shit smh what should I do ...Jst pray idont have any engine related problems ? .. or just tell them to stay away from hooking up a computer to my car?
I’m a little confused in regards to mine. I have an 08 rabbit MKV. Apparently mine isnt telling the fuel injector on cylinder 4 to operate. So do I need a whole new ECU? Or is it possible to fix my existing ECU with a reflash to stock?
Ohh...it's there. Just look more closely. I've had a mk5 & mk6, and that's where it "should" be. This dude's vid is on point, so go slowly and you will find it eventually.
Guy shows how to do the easiest parts, pooping off the wiper bolt caps and lifting up the wiper cowl? But not the absolute hardest part, how to remove the windshield wipers??
Brilliant engineering at its best. Why not put the ecu inside the engine I bet it will be easy to take it out.

great video thanks i just wondering if i want to replace a ecu isit plug and go or need decoding the system and key extra to do it set to my car

+Young Rios if they want to be dicks yes. I been told it keeps track of how manatees the ecu has been flashed

+Young Rios just flash to stock and go from there
watching this vid made me think what you need is a GoPro strapped to your head for some of these shots so you have both hands free.. :)
Yea been looking at new cameras head mounted go pro might be in order lol
Question: my 2012 mk 6 gti audobaun edition caps my speed at 121 mph, is that because of the governor, does your do that?
thats exactly what it does. thats gone after the tune
@@ghostlyrich so I take it to a shop and ask for a gov removal?
Do you need to disconnect the battery first?
I would just to negate all chances of a short
@@ghostlyrich okay thanks. I just had the ecu disconnected and battery still connected. 1997 VW Polo 1.4 8V hope all is still good.
Perfect explanation, thanks
Got me out of a jam. Thank you.
Unitronic! Great job.

Did you ever figure this out? I’m having a similar problem
@@oropeza190 Turns out it wasn’t the ECU it was my wiring harness
Have checked the ECM is not located there, where would it be on a 2009 VW Routan.

Thanks! I was wondering how it was possible to remove that metal clamp off the ECU. Now I know!
Where do you get refurb ECC for 2010 gti?
If I replace only the pcm and reprogram the key, should it turn on? I should not change the vin of pa pcm or anything?
You need to write the vin and add the security key for the skim module
Is this the same for an MK6 TDI?
