@@ughwhydoyoudothis i might not read comics these days, and just relying on channels who narrates, but from the looks of it that thomas at that time never knew bruce is some kind of a key element to keep the world intact. what I meant to say that, thomas did this to force bruce into ceasing on continuing being batman, without ever realizing that it will get worse if he may succeed doing so. just like the last part said in this short, thomas wanted bruce to be a father he never experienced, and it is for the better sake (in thomas' belief) if you were with batman's journey, it meant that being batman means you have to carry all the burden of being one (and more of that as well)
The only times we see Batman lacking discipline and in hysterics is with his family (including the Robins and such) and when he loses his most valued comrades. It's sad to see it when it happens tho
Like that episode of justice league where everyone thinks superman died but Bruce doesn't give up hope and spends the whole episode with a piece of Clark's cape
