Just installed mine and a 6.5 Creedmoor predator installed day SWFA 10 hour fixed scope with a 42 mm objective outstanding piece of gear and very excited to take it out and shoot

This is really cool. They are giving magpul some competition for the budget stock market...... With that said ,they need to make long action variations to! **EDIT** Yes, I saw the part about the long actions, just making sure my voice is heard!
I have this stock and have been very impressed with it. For the cost this will be an incredible successful stock for MDT. It has the metal support where its needed and polymer where it okay to have it. Reverse comb and adjustable cheek riser, adjustable length of pull, vertical grip, light weight, imbedded metal block, M-lock ... its all the things we need to make a rifle fit us and make the rifle fun to run.
Best thing about this stock is how narrow the buttstock and cheek piece are. MDT has traditionally had a fairly wide cheek rest but they corrected that on this stock.
Worst think is the torsion capacity of the forearm. A bit more rigidity to fix rifle cant would be nice but you cannot "have it all" at this price point.
Over all this a great stock and I expect to see it on a lot of rifles.
still waiting the tikka t3x model to come out....
I'm still waiting for HNT26 to be inletted for the Howa SA.
I already have that same stock on my Tikka T3x Lite. I bought it from MDT on Black Friday this past year.

Need an inlet for the Mauser M18 in the US
thats what i need for my axis savage 223 .. the boyds is to heavy for hunting but way better then stock ..its become a test bed stock ..as wood i can drill cut, grind to test things .. but this just might be the end all one and done .. the factory axis with the mdt stock / chassie is to front heavy.

I think this for the axis would be a solid upgrade. Magpul has one coming out for it also if it isn’t already out.

Wish this stock had a flush cup on both sides near the butt stock! It would make so much since then you could put one at the fore end and had your rifle sit flush on your back!!

Bought one of these back in November, their website said it was in stock but I didn't get it until February.. I like their products but Man!!, their delivery needs some work

Not sure why my post disappeared. I will try this again. I have a Howa 1500 in .223 and my question is does there need to be any modifications made to the MDT field stock for the 1500 in .223? I have looked at a couple other manufacturers and there stocks were not true drop it. There needed to be slight mods to action to get to work correctly. Thank you.
You need to consider whether your action is mini, short, or long. (In this case, I think .223 in a Howa rifle is a Mini action, but you should confirm yourself.)
After doing that, you'll need to look at the MDT Field Stock you are trying to buy - is it for a mini, short, or long action rifle?
Make sure to purchase the model that matches your action. (I.e. mini to mini, short to short, long to long)
As an aside - I don't think MDT makes the Field Stock in a Howa Mini or Long action, but you can google and confirm that.

It is only $295 after all, for the money its great value. But if you want premium feel, there are other options to look at.
