HA! Ain't that always the way? "Do you really NEED that?", "What's it for?", "Don't you already have one?", "What about our bills?"....all kinds of trivial concerns! LOL My wife's MOSTLY fine with lots of guitars (she even buys me one on occasion), cigars (she likes them too) and a few cars (she actually picked out--or rather, noticed first--our first muscle car together, a 70 Plymouth GTX), as long as I have a good reason for any of them (yeah...I may kinda make some of them up as I go...on occasion...but all my "investments" always end up coming in handy and really, 27 or so guitars isn't THAT many.....right?), and in reality she is actually the more spendy of us anyway (she has over 70 hoodies...i've seen her wear maybe half of them twice in 17 years...I rest my case haha). Well, long way round the barn, so to the point: she didn't grow up with weapons, is kind of scared of them, so I've been softening her up. Seriously, I can buy a relatively cheap, knicked-up old Corvette to flip as an investment/hobby/side-gig but not a rifle? lol Apparently, all my stories about basically being born with a .22 LR bolt-action and a Ruger single-six in my hands, growing up target shooting off our back porch at 200 yards (we lived in the mountains, had a fixed target across a valley), and even a couple goofy trophies from my childhood (from a church men's retreat under-14 competition I entered at 12, which even I keep in a box, so I can't really blame her for not being impressed with those haha), made ZERO impression. She's disabled, has no interest in shooting, and hadn't fully understood why I would want such things (she DID like the idea of a bow). That is, until I broached a new topic--as we have both been chefs at one time or another (she is actually award-winning)--that wouldn't some venison, elk, duck or goose be nice once in a while? She almost immediately said, "Oh...yeah that's a GREAT idea!" (She already loves when I fish for our dinner). So long story...still long (I'm either thorough or boring...so, apologies if you've made it this far haha), she's since warmed up to the idea of a 12-gauge and a .308. I may be pushing my luck, but I said, "Well, if we have those, why not something also differently practical...you know, just in case?" Now, I'll probably have to forego a musical item or two, finally work on and sell that Corvette, but I might yet get her on board for another .22 LR, because hey, I've got to practice and it's cheaper, right? Well, I mean, a 1911, .357, or a S&W .40 (my brother's operator side-arm of choice) because...um, bears? Maybe a Creedmoor 6.5 too...you know, because, what if the deer are further away that day? LOL

Great video as allways. You should do a wallkthrough video on compiling your own motivation for a new lisence application as well as lisence renewal motivation. It might even be an interesting topic for your international viewers to see exactly what we have to suffer through and help your fellow south africans to have less lisence rejections.

Any chance we could get a story-time type video telling about what went down with the gun shop and your rifles? I'm interested in the story, but also the process you had to go through to get them back and why. Stuff like that is interesting to me, especially when it's in a different country with a different outlook on firearms than we have here in the US. :)
I love my Howa 1500 in 7.62 in a Nightingale stock. It's super heavy but it's my baby :) It's for target only as I can't imagine dragging it around hunting! P.S Love from the UK

Should try some mil surplus rifles. Like the Finnish M39 or SwedishM96. Older than dirt, but they can be incredibly accurate!

It's Bob not Patty and my son gave me a Remington 700 Sendero 7mm magnum and I haven't had the time to go out shooting but I'm curious what you think about the gun and the ammo. I had a Savage 110 in 7mm and it was a great gun but kicked really hard and the Remington doesn't kick much because it weighs so much more. I recently found you on RUclips and I enjoy your content. Keep up the good work my friend. I'm in the US so ammo seams to be a problem currently.

Nice collection man i have some howas aswell a223 and 6.5cm in oryx chassis pretty stoked with my collection and u have inspired me having some nice rifles not necessarily quantity my chassised rifles and stocked rifles r budget builds but still really nice, i have limited funds as have a chrnic health issue walk a fine line with the setups to get the most outta each gun and value for money all up have 9 rifles and they are all set up to be used for hunting and target shooting on the farm......best wishies to u man.oh am hand raising a little joey baby kangaroo shes just 1 kilogram.

I would love to know what you would recommend as a safe. Is it better to buy a massive safe or potentially more safes that are relatively smaller. Really enjoy your informational videos they help me a lot (a beginner indeed).

What muzzle brake was on that Howa 223? Not that 223 has much recoil but there was absolutely no movement when you fired it. Thank you sir from the southwest corner of the USA. Love the channel.

@@rickoshea8138 we can all dial, key points would be energy on target, having a 10-12” barrel setup (crazy light weight rifle) getting intense terminal ballistic while being shy louder than a .22lr, I get all Piet setups and they are all great choices. Back to my original question on how firearm are registered… a simple barrel with go/no go gauges would provide impressive fun. Who wouldn’t want a lighter rifle, less recoil, low sound signature but yet hard hitting round?

Wich would you choose for a hunting rifle. My reason for doubting the 308. chamber, is because the 30-06 is faster. What is your point of view. Hope to hear from you.
