I remember having this same discussion with my mother and our pastor when I was a kid, I loved dinosaurs and my mother would say they not in the Bible so they didn't really exist and for me I'm at the museum like they right here so we know they existed. Then it hit me, we as humans are the most educated arrogant creatures ever, I said mom, when God created the heaven and the earth in 7 days, who said 7 days was 24 hrs each? To God 7 days could ver easy be 7 millennium, and then she conceded. Now I don't agree with everything he is saying as far as the dinosaurs died in Noah's flood because no human existed in the same period of time as dinosaurs.

He talks about a dinosaur creature merely existing along and all of a sudden, "poof !" You have a mutated offspring. Talk about language manipulation. "Poof" implies that it happened suddenly, whereas anyone who knows evolution knows that it happens because of tiny variations over LONG periods of time. The plain truth of the statement in Ecclesiastes 9:5 has nothing to do with the living attempting to contact the dead, it means exactly what it says. The dead don't know anything. Psalms 146:4 says the same thing "His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish."
      Ecclesiastes 9:6 goes even further
"Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun."
Love and hate are emotions on opposite ends of the spectrum, so not only are the dead incapable of thought but feelings as well. This truth Biblically eliminates the possibility of any afterlife.
Shame? Is that what you said, shame? For understanding and spreading what God has inspired? No, I am the opposite of ashamed. Belief in God and his written word is exactly why this truth is so important. The lie about what happens to the dead has caused more suffering and wasted more time around the world than any other. Whole cultures obsessed with pleasing dead relatives or spending what little they have on lavish ceremonies for the dead. Or God dishonoring practices like Halloween. All because they believe a lie that is not taught in the Bible. A lie started by Satan when he told Eve "you positively will not die".
Belief in an afterlife is in no way required to believe in God, in fact to please him it is key to listen to his inspired word. Merely professing belief in God while ignoring what he wrote, that would be hypocritical.
This is also no denial of heaven, those with the heavenly hope are resurrected (restored to life by God), there are no dead in heaven they are very much alive.
Please don't listen to people who dream or hallucinate or lie for book sales. Listen to God's word.

It's a very fascinating book, and gives us a glimpse into how people believed things about astronomy and our own planet, and how absolutely wrong they were. Yet they wrote it down as if it was Godly wisdom, when most likely its author was just mentally disturbed, and very imaginative.

However, not all sedimentary rocks form in water - there are some beautifully preserved fossils formed in volcanic ash deposits. However, I think you are trying to convince yourself that fossils are evidence of a global flood, which they are not. Fossils vary greatly in age and distribution and testify to the great age of the Earth and provide evidence of evolution, not creationism/ Noah's flood etc. To contend you original point, many fossils do form in water borne sediment.....how long to you imagine it takes for an animal to be covered in sediment, that sediment to be covered over, by many hundreds or thousands of meters of sediment, to be compressed, chemically changed form organic to inorganic material, for this sediment to be uplifted (there are fossils on Everest for instance, from the bottom of the Tethys Ocean no less) and weathered away to be revealed? A few thousand years or many millions? Answers please on a postcard....

      @3dcowboy1980 Год назад

@@roydodds3693 Evidence 1: Fossils of sea creatures high above sea level due to the ocean waters having flooded over the continents
We find fossils of sea creatures in rock layers that cover all the continents. For example, most of the rock layers in the walls of Grand Canyon (more than a mile above sea level) contain marine fossils. Fossilized shellfish are even found in the Himalayas.
Evidence 2: Rapid burial of plants and animals
We find extensive fossil “graveyards” and exquisitely preserved fossils. For example, billions of nautiloid fossils are found in a layer within the Redwall Limestone of Grand Canyon. This layer was deposited catastrophically by a massive flow of sediment (mostly lime sand). The chalk and coal beds of Europe and the United States, and the fish, ichthyosaurs, insects, and other fossils all around the world, testify of catastrophic destruction and burial.
Evidence 3: Rapidly deposited sediment layers spread across vast areas
We find rock layers that can be traced all the way across continents-even between continents-and physical features in those strata indicate they were deposited rapidly. For example, the Tapeats Sandstone and Redwall Limestone of Grand Canyon can be traced across the entire United States, up into Canada, and even across the Atlantic Ocean to England. The chalk beds of England (the white cliffs of Dover) can be traced across Europe into the Middle East and are also found in the Midwest of the United States and in Western Australia. Inclined (sloping) layers within the Coconino Sandstone of Grand Canyon are testimony to 10,000 cubic miles of sand being deposited by huge water currents within days.
Evidence 4: Sediment transported long distances
We find that the sediments in those widespread, rapidly deposited rock layers had to be eroded from distant sources and carried long distances by fast-moving water. For example, the sand for the Coconino Sandstone of Grand Canyon (Arizona) had to be eroded and transported from the northern portion of what is now the United States and Canada. Furthermore, water current indicators (such as ripple marks) preserved in rock layers show that for “300 million years” water currents were consistently flowing from northeast to southwest across all of North and South America, which, of course, is only possible over weeks during a global Flood.
Evidence 5: Rapid or no erosion between strata
We find evidence of rapid erosion, or even of no erosion, between rock layers. Flat, knife-edge boundaries between rock layers indicate continuous deposition of one layer after another, with no time for erosion. For example, there is no evidence of any “missing” millions of years (of erosion) in the flat boundary between two well-known layers of Grand Canyon-the Coconino Sandstone and the Hermit Formation. Another impressive example of flat boundaries at Grand Canyon is the Redwall Limestone and the strata beneath it.
Evidence 6: Many strata laid down in rapid succession
Rocks do not normally bend; they break because they are hard and brittle. But in many places we find whole sequences of strata that were bent without fracturing, indicating that all the rock layers were rapidly deposited and folded while still wet and pliable before final hardening. For example, the Tapeats Sandstone in Grand Canyon is folded at a right angle (90°) without evidence of breaking. Yet this folding could only have occurred after the rest of the layers had been deposited, supposedly over “480 million years,” while the Tapeats Sandstone remained wet and pliable.
I know you said you wanted it on a post card which meant short and not explained fully. There are many more things the bible that have found to be true over the years and will continue to be proven by atheist scientists. Have a blessed week.

He also doesn't touch on centennial drift, or the fact that the land doesn't stay in one place. Marine fossils found on land may not have been land in the past, as there is uplift and, well, continental drift. Land moves, yet he assumes it doesn't move. His whole argument hinges on things that can be explained fairly easily. He barely touches on these topics. Or, the tail of the animal he was talking about. It didn't say that the tail looked like a cedar. Just that it is stiff, or moves, like a cedar. A hippo tail fits that description quite well. But, the bible translations, which are not 100% accurate like this guy might have you think, either say that the tail sways or is strong like a cedar. But, that's literally the only thing in the entire bible that might point toward the existence of dinosaurs at the same time as humans? Dinosaurs... these huge beings that we have direct evidence of all over the world roamed the Earth with humans, yet the only reference to them is that one single passage in an interpreted and translated ancient text written by multiple humans at different times? Also, the carvings or drawings have been debunked over and over again. The one he points out as his biggest piece of evidence on Kachina Bridge is quite obviously not a dinosaur. When you look at pictures of it that include more than just that section, and where it isn't enhanced, you can plainly see that it's a mud stain or something, and there are a bunch of other blotches and lines surrounding it. He glossed over the whole enhancement of it. He should have shown the entire full image of it, rather than just he part he wants you to see.

And we can do this all day, but the Old Testament is not more important than the New. The former only helps us understand the latter. It's a foreshadow but Moses, Elijah, and the rest of the Old Testament saints won't get you into the Kingdom of God. That's the bottom line.
Lastly, as Jesus said in John: You search the scriptures- the Old Testament- and in them you think that you have eternal life, but they only testified of me. So salvation is not in the Old Testament but in him whom the Old Testament spoke of.

There's just one little thing wrong with his analogy about The Flood on sealife, nowhere in Genesis does it say that Noah took sea life aboard the ark, just land animals, creatures. So if by what he says is true about all sealife was buried during The Flood, how did the sealife repopulate the Earth after God made the water recede, seeing as how Noah DIDN'T take any sealife onboard the ark,nor was any provision or accomodations made during construction of the ark to include all sealife on the Earth before The Flood?

    Amazing Dinosaur Facts
    Origins of the Word Dinosaur
    Sir Richard Owen
What is the origin of the word dinosaur? I ask many people this question and surprisingly most people don't know. One of those little known dinosaur facts is that the word dinosaur is a relatively new word in the English language.
The word dinosaur literally means "terrible, powerful, wondrous lizards." The word became popular after biologist and paleontologist, Sir Richard Owen coined the term "Dinosauria" in 1841. The word dinosaur derives from two greek words (deinos) "terrible, powerful, wondrous" + (sauros) "lizard".
So what would a person prior to 1841 call a giant, powerful, wondrous lizard if they saw one? The answer to that question is really quite obvious especially if we look back into the historical record for evidence of giant, powerful, wondrous lizards. Can you Guess?
Another amazing dinosaur fact is that every culture had names for these giant, powerful, wondrous lizards.
Explorers described them, historians wrote about them, and they have been romanticized in many cultures throughout the world. Can you guess yet?
Find out the answer! Watch the movie: Forbidden History.
So what were dinosaurs called prior to 1841?
There are some theories that have been promoted as dinosaur facts. Many people have been taught, as fact, that the dinosaurs died off millions of years ago when a meteor hit the earth, but can this really be proven?
Did a meteor really wipe out the dinosaurs?
I was taught, along with just about everyone else, the above theory, but there is evidence, a lot of it, that indicates that dinosaurs and man have always existed together.
After my own 10 year study of the issue, I am fully convinced that dinosaurs have always existed with man.
O.K. enough suspense. The most common English word used to describe terrible, powerful, wondrous lizards was...Dragon. That's right, Dragon. Many other names were used as well. To learn more about this fascinating subject start with the historical evidence.
You might be wondering...Were did all of the fossil dinosaurs come from then?
There is a simple logical explanation for this as well. Use the hyperlink above to learn what really happened to the dinosaurs or you can Watch the FREE movie: Forbidden History to see more evidence.

As the bible shows we were not here for millions of years which means dinos couldn't have existed. Besides that fake fossils and bones are different. All scientists believe in something which they choose as the starting point for their researches. The object of faith need not be a deity. It can be whatever worldview -based presumption. Naturalistic science is based on the belief that there is no God, or that God can not influence on the physical world. Naturalism sets its own religious baseline as a criteria for what can be considered science. It dogmatically holds the fallacy that it has the privilege to science. That’s why it does not honestly participate in scientific discussions with those who have a different baseline. This kind of abstinence is against the scientific principle of self-criticism.
The evolution theory, favored by atheists, is in its pivotal parts based on imagination where the laws of physics and genetic realities are bypassed and replaced with assumptions.
Unlike the natural scientific study which leans on methodological naturalism, creationism is based on critical rationalism which adheres to all principles of science. Critical rationalism sees that absolute objectivity is not possible and that the boundary between natural and supernatural is not in all cases possible to strictly draw. Which through mutation can slowly or sometimes fast(after extinction level events or environmental pressures)start to drift away from the parental animal and if keeps going without the animal going extinct. New species can occur. Look at the two sqeaurls at the Grand Canyon. Or after when the non-avian dinosaur went extinct. And they do reproduce to their own kind the ancestral dog could reproduce other animals like it. And we know it doesn't take long for diversification to occur, chickens in particular only need a couple generations. There is no undeniable proof, however, that every living thing came from one ancestor, let alone a chemical soup. We assume because of DNA similarities. If there was only ever one single dinosaur, I doubt you'd find much fossil evidence for it. If there were 10,000 Jesus' graves, then we might have one or two of them known to us.
The ark was a wooden ship that is about 4-5,000 years old. I'm not sure what evidence you expect to find of a wrecked 4-5,000 year old ship. Also, when explorers landed, they would often dismantle their ships to use the timbers and materials for houses and structures. I don't know if Noah and his family just walked away from the ark or if they reused the materials for their new lives. Either way, I'd be skeptical if someone came forward with some sort of 5,000 year old wooden ship.
As for "stuff that's in the Bible," there's actually plenty of archaeological evidence for the towns/cities mentioned (that are long gone) and even things like Jericho (evidence of both the thick walls and some event that caused them to crumble). If you remove all of the God stuff from the Bible, it still ends up being a pretty good history book.

I’m a Christian and I think the belief dinosaurs walked around with humans is nuts.

    • @67L48
      @67L48 Год назад

It's no more nuts than God flooded the entire earth and that only Noah and his family lived, than the languages and peoples of the world were the result of scattering after the tower of Babel, than some obscure prophet named Jonah lived 3 days inside the belly of a great fish (whale?), than 3 guys getting thrown into a furnace so hot that it killed the guards around them as they remained safe, than a virgin giving birth, than a man who resurrected the dead, than the son of God being incarnate as a man, than a guy getting crucified and then raised from the dead 3 days later. I mean, how is the creation story somehow more unbelievable than all the other things in the Bible? How do you believe in the Gospel message, which is borderline insane, but then balk at the creation story?

    • @amark350
      @amark350 Год назад

@@67L48 Yes, I believe in miracles... Jesus rose from the dead, Jonah was swallowed by a whale, etc etc..... BUT there is a significant difference when you talk about the age of the Earth and Dinosaurs. Here are two reasons:
      1. Our God would not plant "fake evidence" for us to find (suggesting the Earth is old) because that would be deceptive. In other words, we have very clear evidence (rock layers, carbon dating, etc.) that says the Earth is old and dinosaurs were around millions of years before people. It's only a small segment of Christians that believe otherwise (most of which are not scientists).
2.) There are many theologians that do not buy into the whole Young Earth theory. Probably more that do NOT believe in that vs do...
So you add these two things up, I feel pretty good with my original statement.
