In my opinion, this is one of the few nearly perfect games ever made. There are just so many memorable moments, including my all time personal favorite moment in a video game - the Opera House scene. You had a story that was much deeper than what you usually got in video games at the time, characters who you felt emotionally attached to, and some pretty dark themes for a Nintendo game, including attempted suicide. This is one of the rare times where everything came together perfectly in one game, and one of the few times I knew I was playing a masterpiece. I spent a majority of my Christmas Break playing the game, and actually managed to beat it the night before I was supposed to go back to school. Fortunately, the weather was bitter cold and we had a lot of snow, so there was little reason to go outside, less it was to shovel or do an errand. When I started collecting retro games, Final Fantasy III was one of my first purchases, and every time I play it and the opening music kicks in, I can still feel how I felt on Christmas Morning of 1994.

One of the greatest games of all time. It's not often at all a game combines design, game play, music and story to create such an unforgettable magnum opus. Long live Final Fantasy III.
I JUST played this.......Back in the day, I used to record the music onto cassette and listen to it at night to help me sleep. This game is apart of my life story and i LOVE IT!!
This is very nostalgic for me. I remember going to my half sister’s dad’s apartment when I was 5 years old and watching her play this while I sat and ate oatmeal. I loved playing Zelda link to the past also.
It's close, but I didn't do much with the Coliseum, and I didn't bother with Relm and Strago's abilities too much. To do a true 100% on this game would take far longer than 24 hours.
I have never played this game before and I really want to dig into it. Is this again that I can figure out on my own or will I need to get a strategy guide. Do you think it’s still worth playing in 2024 if somebody doesn’t have a nostalgic association with it?
I truly mean this when I say this: the moment you choose to play and immerse yourself in this will become the nostalgic memory you’re able to look back on and smile about. No matter where you are in your life right now, I 1000% recommend this game. It changed me for the better and I am so thankful to have given it a chance when I did.
@emeryeverest2432 what if he's 100 though? I still think a 100 year old could love this game but probably won't end up with nostalgia later. I need a handheld version of this as that's only way my wife will play it. But you're right. I actually do think anyone can play it without previous attachment and get nostalgic later
At this stage in life and with my schedule I don’t think I could play this and get immersed into it and enjoy it like I would want to. For some reason I lean to super Mario rpg because it seems much more simple. Back in 1995 I’m sure i would have loved this game.
I played this game more than any other. Too much to enjoy it again. It was like my TMNT 1990 VHS tape, played to death. The only thing that could bring me back into it would be a 3D version.
Reaching the 47 minute mark of this video... WHY DIDN'T YOU BUY THE AUTO CROSSBOW?! This is one of Edgar's most powerful weapons! The Auto Crossbow never misses, and does pretty decent crowd control, annihilating almost every enemy you encounter when you have him in your party composition. Another of Edgar's weapons is the Drill. Like the Auto Crossbow, it never misses, plus it bypasses enemy defense and agility, guaranteeing that you're gonna hit it. This is ESPECIALLY useful against the Cactuars, which drains 1000 HP from your party members every time they miss.
hi, one question where are you playing that game? is it on retroarch or emulated? cuz the quality of the video is really good, if you are on retroarch or emulated can you share your setup cores and shaders?
My 3rd favorite Final Fantasy of all time. 1st it's II (Japan's IV), then it's VII, and then this one. I'd like this one better if it wasn't soooo long. I think they should've ended it halfway through.. the floating island or a little thereafter. Still it had alot of interesting things happen during the 2nd half just felt like it took forever to do everything. X is fourth for me btw. I like most of them except for Japan's II. Everytime I try to play it I just stop after an hour or so. Got pretty far I think initially then got stuck. Could use GameFAQs now to figure out where to go, but the games not very linear so would take awhile to figure that out LOL. Anyway long live Final Fantasy! Haven't played XIV and beyond though started played XV Pocket on a computer app just recently. I just did 1 chapter. Don't feel like paying for more. Oh.. didn't play XI either. I don't consider XI and XIV true Final Fantasies since you could only play them online. They should've called those Final Fantasy OE (online edition) I and II respectively.
I did own the SNES but I didn't buy this game. Final Fantasy III has great characters, a great storyline, and some beautiful soundtracks. Overall it looks like an epic game. Thanks.
Any plans to do FFV, Chrono Trigger and the Romancing SaGa soon? For FFV, play the GBA script port for maximum enjoyability and for Chrono Trigger needs a video with all the endings.
I remember the original artwork was super dope. Thinking about it, seems like same style of art or same artist that did the original Vampire Hunter D artwork. Would bet money
As of this comment, I'm nearing the 5-hour mark of the video. The one thing I don't understand is why Kefka is so hell-bent on killing everyone around him and destroying everything in sight. So far, it really isn't explained that well. Hopefully it does later on.
The process of turning Kefka to a magitek knight drove him insane. He was a failed attempt where Celes was a success. As such he hates everything. The empire, the world, everything. Including himself. The world of ruin was his chance to destroy it all and create a monument to non-existence.

I wouldn't call FF7 any better than the earlier games in the series. The only thing it's better at is being overhyped, and this is coming from someone who preordered and picked up the game on day 1 back when it released. Yes, it was good for it's time, even if the graphics are ugly as sin, but unlike FF4, 5, and 6, the story of 7 felt incredibly weak. Couple that with a mama's boy villain, and it was a recipe for speeding through the game as quick as I could so that I could beat it. FF3/6 when I sat down with it, I took my time, absorbing as much story as I could, by the time I finished the game, I felt like I got to know everybody (Shadow included) on a personal basis, they felt like good friends.
