It's blasphemy not to suplex the train... but I argue that if you do low level runs like I do... you can get to the train and kill it without gaining a single level... thus never learning suplex... instead aurabolt becomes your friend
@@awest1925 I actually like ff6 better than chrono trigger, chrono trigger was too easy even unlocking magus isnt that hard its just unexpected on the first playthrough but after playing it once you get the hint that you can recruit magus somehow
Everything about this game is perfect. The story, the characters, the battle system and last but not least the music. So many playthroughs and so many hours of my life well spent.
This game will forever be my favorite. My dad played it when he was a kid, and when he and my mom bought an SNES for the family, he recommended that I play this game. I started playing the game with my dad's help and I loved it, but I got stuck in the world of ruin, so I stopped playing. Years later, I picked the game up again, and figured out what to do next with ease, even without my dad's help, as he had moved out. Finally, I beat the game, which I would say is one of my greatest achievements. Even after beating it, I continued to look for every little secret in the game, and even made challenges to make the game even more fun, but also for excuses to play the game over and over again. Final Fantasy VI is such a good game, and I wish I knew more people who like this game.
I'm gonna be honest with you.. I was fully expecting some dark humor at the end of your comment when I clicked "Read more". Was 100% expecting the last sentence to read "Sadly no matter how many times I beat the game, Dad never came home." lol
There's a ton of people who love this game, arguably more than FF7. Unfortunately, those people aren't from your generation for the most part. I was 12 when this came out and it was the best game I had ever played, hands down no question. I've come to appreciate the story even more since then, although the game play is a little tedious being such an old game.
The moogles were a significant part of the marketing for this game, and they have a notable role in the story. Leaving Mog out was a mistake. I can see leaving out Gogo and Umaro as they weren’t as crucial to the story, but in my mind any recruitable character should have been included. Also I think mentioning having to wait for Shadow on the floating continent is something that should have been included.
I remember renting this and chrono trigger from my local video store with a tanning salon built in. Awesome times indeed. Everything was so new and interesting.
Even though I played the game so many times over the years, this video was a great watch! I really appreciate your effort in matching the characters' theme songs while they're part of the discussion.

Played it at a cousins up north when I was a kid, we stayed up all night and day lol Came back home and saved up / paid like 103$CDN and some change (remember running to the bank with my little paper bank book and everything lol) went to the local game store and picked it up Loved, love this title... *memories*
Yeah, that's definitely worth noting. We just think how Celes responds to the tragedy of his demise is such a powerful scene that it would have been a shame to leave it out. - Nökkvi

What's missing is how astonishing it was. There are modern gamers who play it all the time. But when we first played it the graphics and presentation made our jaws drop. Now a person goes from the newest system and games to this little 16 bit game and just cannot find it as impressive as we once did.
One of the best FFs and games of all time. 9 is my personal favorite, but I feel like if I played 6 before I played 9, 6 would probably be my favorite.
I had played 9 before 6, but 6 is my fave, followed by 9. Actually at first 6 was just so so for me, dropped it half way though. Then tried it again after a few years and realized how great it is, that it became my favorite game of all time.
Such a good history, I played this game on SNES about 22 years ago, I was absorbed by the plot not knowing how much it resembles our actual life context
Amazing video and narration. I missed not seeing you saved Shadow and how is later revealed he's Relms dad. Also MOG and Umaro on Narshe who joins the party as well as Gogo later on inside the belly of the beast
Great video I just have one correction to make, CID doesn’t have to die, if you feed him the correct fish fast enough he survives resulting in no Celes suicide attempt
It is the best Final Fantasy story wise, soundtrack wise, Character Development and Background story. And was my first Final Fantasy game I played many years ago and still playing it now (Pixel Remaster). As you may have known, you can keep CID alive in the World of Ruins by giving him "Yummy Fish" only the fastest moving one, and also safe Shadow in the floating continent by waiting for him at escape point few seconds before time expires 😀
I’ve been chasing this FF6 high since I was 12 years old. Chrono Trigger and FF7 almost got there for me but only a good buzz and not quite the same high.
I play this game so many time and a few months back I bought the final fantasy pixel remaster on switch a little different from the SNES version but it’s still fun. Even though these characters already have names, sometimes I like to rename them with a different name of someone in my family or someone I know as a good friend.
Correction - (Man I need you to do your research.) If you wait on the floating island to the last 5 seconds Shadow will make it to you and won't die on that scene. You can find him in the coliseum.
My opinion on Final Fantasy 6.......The story, it's characters, the world and the music make the visuals the only reason this wasn't as popular as 7. I really do believe that. 7's my favourite FF btw, but if 6 had come out on ps1 and had looked like 7, I really do think it would've had the impact 7 had on me. Not only that, it was before 7......so it may well have ended up being the "classic" rather than 7. The same can't be said for 5 or below, though. 6 was the first offering in the franchise to take an rpg in the direction it did. Before 6 it was all medieval, "dungeons and dragons" types of worlds and plots with relatively tedious characters. 4 had interesting characters, but they didn't get enough time to develop properly and even if they had, the world was still the same as 1, 2, 3 and 5. 6 took the whole franchise into a world of trains, cars, factories and robotics. It had an incredibly intriguing antagonist that looked and acted nothing like the previous antagonists (which again were all very similar.) It implemented culturally and politically relatabe themes and there was actually significant weight to things the characters said and did. All these things combined made 6 a world that felt so much more real and lived in. 7 merely continued that idea on a platform that allowed that vibe to shine really brightly for the first time. I'd go as far as saying if 6 had come out on ps1 and looked like 7, people may well have considered 7 too similar, rendering it somewhat unoriginal. It's literally just the format 6 is presented in that gives it that unavoidably different feel. That's it. Other than that it'd be on par with 7 imo. If you reverse it and imagine 7 came out on the SNES and looked like 6.........I don't think 7 would be better necessarily and again, it would've been considered very similar.
I never beat kefka multiple of reasons but yeah I didn’t miss anything by not finishing the game I literally did and found everything possible. Been wanting to play this game again.
