That intro was SO funny💀😂😂 well whaddya guys think?! Will the 6 hour road trip turn me into a rebel 500 lover or will it make me realize I want something else…?! So stoked for this bike and this trip!!
It’s even funnier knowing that as I’m in the office filming this intro with a sign taped to me and chugging a non-alcoholic beer, you were in the middle of your 90 mile backroad adventure 😂😂😂
@@LifeOfBurchoh my gosh true😂😂😂😂
That’s a smoking deal! Im excited to see how the trip goes for you guys! I just picked up a 2024 Rebel 500 ABS SE wayyyy out here in PHX, AZ, but during like the worst time of year … so I won’t be taking any long trips for a few months (I want to ride out to San Diego after it’s cooled a bit). Hoping the experience you guys share from YOUR trip points out things that I can prepare for in advance 😂
I'd say it'll turn into a Rebel lover.
I forget off-hand if you have a windscreen on the 300, and much less if the windscreen is easy to detach and re-install, but something like a Puig "Custom II Universal windscreen" is a good thing to keep laying around (thinking about it, I wish it took it off my Shadow 1100 before I sold it), just mainly that on longer trips the wind hitting your torso gets old/fatiguing after enough time.
I think Rebel 500 has enough power to still be a nice highway trip bike, but you might find yourself wanting something more if y'all are taking interstate and spending a decent amount of time on a long straight road.
@@MotoDash1100 Yup, 6 hours of freeway riding without a windscreen is physically exhausting. I was thinking Memphis Shades Pop Top or Speed Demon Sportshield. All my bikes get a windscreen of some sort. I bought a NC750X in February and put a Givi Sport windscreen on it after getting home, before the first real ride.
Burch over here confusing 12 steps with 12 bikes 🤣🤣🤣.
Ay yooo 😂😂😂
@@LifeOfBurch And still no Indian FTR 🤣. Weird 😜😜.
Jokes aside... Much love to you and Nina. Have a safe trip 🖖❤.
@@_nopestr 😂 in due time! Thanks dude!! 🙏🏻
FTR will be number 12... Probably.
Live is good when you can collect motorcycles rather than hot wheels.
Amen dude!! 😂🤘🏻
Rebels are awesome. I got my 1100 because of this channel, and I could not be happier!
Yooo that’s so sick!! I’m glad you’re loving your 1100 as much as I love mine! Honored to have helped you decide to get it 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Same for me. Got mine a few months ago and love it. Found a new 23' in metallic green. Got my permit, did the MSF, and just got my license. BTW Birch, I live in WV and can put you onto some good roads to ride. I can send you my email if you guys ever want to come back.
The WV Rt. 60 (WV Scenic Highway) is the way to go.
Just happy with my XL 150. This is the most fun on small roads.
Oh and the intro was funny - gave me a chuckle!!
Congrats! Here I was looking into getting one, upgrading from my Navi but got smacked by a car. Now my focus is learning to walk again hopefully one day I can get back to riding 🫡
6 hours on a highway with a Rebel 500?😳😱 Never! But on Norwegian country roads , it’s fantastic😉👍🏻
Just want to say I am a big fan of your channel, Watching your videos inspired me to go and get my endorsement and get a rebel 1100t. I love the bike and could not be happier with it. On another note 3k for that rebel was a steal! Definitely got a good deal, looking forward to that road trip you all are doing, thank you for the awesome content you both make!
Always good to watch your videos ;). Just got my first Navi cause of you 😜. But my streets down here in Mexico city are way more sketchy.
I’ve bought 3 Rebel 500’s since Covid for less than 10k total for all of them together. 2 18’s and a 17. They all have been awesome to learn and play on.
That’s awesome! You really just can’t beat em for the price! 🙌🏻🤘🏻
I love the story of what you paid for this. 3100 was fair and someone who recognizes the value of your channel was kind enough to compensate you for it. Super. Peace from a motorcycle fan here in Connecticut.
Your Rebel 1100 with that comfy looking seat, and cool clothing (fairing, LED headlight, etc) is SOOooo badass.
Rebel fleet getting bigger! Just picked up a ‘21 500 SE! Loving it! I want to throw a Coffman on mine.
That is a steal for that bike in the condition it is. I hope you and Nina have fun doing the "build" and that trip. It'll be cool seeing you two linking up with Jeremiah for a ride.
I’ve ridden the highways out that way near the border of West Virginia and ohio, very beautiful ride just know that the highway follows the hills and they are STEEP! Enjoy my side of MD when you go through as well. Stay golden pony boy.
Great video Burch !!! 🤙🏽
You'll be coming right past my house on your trip.... West Virginia has some of the best riding in the country, you'll have a great time! If you have time to take a little detour down to the center of the state you won't be disappointed!
I rented a Rebel 500 during my time in Thailand and it was very easy to ride. Sounded great with an aftermarket exhaust as well! Certainly different than man Sporster S
I just came across that 2017 300/500 Rebel special edition ("Aviator Nation") - and that's the nicest looking Rebel I've seen so far. Love the fact that they added a bit of color to the bike and the rear end looks quite a bit cleaner than on the stock variant. Not sure if that look is your (or your GF's) cup of tea, but if it was me, that's the style I'd be going for.
i just got my first bike a 2024 rebel 500 se and im loving it
Best of luck on your trip! That's definitely a long one. I'm sure the mountains will be awesome riding through there. Maybe on your way back you could ride past Pittsburgh, cut through the mountains to Harrisburg, and back down to Maryland. Horseshoe Curve in Altoona would be a neat place to stop at, if you are into railroads/trains.
Congrats on the new bike! I hope it works well for Nina on your trip :D
Congrats on the new ride! Great deal!
Thanks Paula!! 🙌🏻🙏🏻
Dude great video as always. i love the ADHD moment with the porsche lol. I loved my first year on the Rebel 500, then gave it to my spouse for his first. It's a great bike! The 1100 is in his future :)
I started with a 2019 Rebel 300 and now have a 2023 1100T...which I just completed a 550 mile cross state ride in just 12 hours with. I love everything about it except the seat...Mustang Solo Tripper is the way to go with the Rebel!🤙 (but that doesn't mean other upgrades aren't in the works...until it's a mini Goldwing 😅)
Your 'addiction' to Honda Rebels is, let's be honest, a real blessing! LOL I just bought my first bike and it's a 2024 Rebel 300. Put my first ever mile on it on the weekend. Just learning to ride a motorcycle. Male, 66 yrs. old and about 120 lbs. Perfect size for THIS beginner. Young lady (20 something) I work with just bought her first bike. Rebel 500!!! We are the fortunate one's...we live inside a world inside the world...we're rebels! It's not an addiction my friend, it's in our blood! ( - :
3k for a 500 is insaneeeee
Congrats on the deal my dude!!!
The small clip of her on the 750 seems like it fits her like she seemed comfortable look forward to her video on it
The red looks good
Good stuff. Me just sitting here with my one Rebel lmao. Also Holy shit I live like an hour away from where your trip is heading.
You're gonna be in my neck of the woods! theres some great roads with some pretty good twisty's on them.
damn, we must live in a similar area. i know i saw that rebel on FB marketplace and was THIIIIIIIIS close to buying it . I was holding off on a 2020 model. Glad to see her find your home :)
Yep! I watched the rest of the video! I've literally been to that Lewnes Steakhouse before. Can't wait to buy a Rebel 500 then maybe I'll be cruising around with you. Ride safe!
I had a 300 in February and traded it in after 2 months for a 500. I love Rebels too. It’s the only bike I know but, they’ve both been amazing starter bikes.
In the market for another cruiser and you really are making me look into a rebel 🤣Congrats on the newest addition to the fleet!
Sorry, Burch bought all the rebels.
@@whollymindless 🤣can't complain if thats the case, he's making the best content on them!
I checked out the ride of a lifetime and it turns out I live in the same town. Small world.
Would love to see you convert one into a chopper . Keep up the cool video's
I'd really love to see Nina and Burch trick this bike out. The 500 didn't last long on the channel and there were so many parts I was hoping you'd throw on there, like forward controls, a mustang seat, the new coffmans (check), a small wind deflector, and new shocks. Show this bike some love, and prove even the 2017 can hold up with the newer gens!
Oh boy 😂 congrats on the purchase
😂 thanks dude!! 🙌🏻🤘🏻
Keep it red!!!! Beautiful!!
1st step is admitting you have a problem. 2nd step is actually giving a $hit you have a problem. But I see no problem with multiple vehicles as long as they bring you joy. Lookin good buddy! 🍻 👊
I was half expecting the montage to just be one shot of the seat and one shot of the exhaust lmfao
Damn it that would’ve been so funny!! 😂😂😂
Dude thanks for the shoutout!! 🙌🏻 can’t wait to see you all soon!
Yessirrr we can’t wait!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
It's funny how while I'm driving my Rebel I still get head turns going down the highway. It is a visual appealing bike.
I’m not a fan of the Rebel, so you must be doing something right to keep me coming back.
I wish I could buy one off you. I’ve wanted a Rebel for some time now to commute to my community college
I finally got my coffmans I told you about on my new 2024 ninja 1000sx
So awesome!!! First off, Congratulations Nina… such a great option, wish you would have had the chance to take out mine.
…and now that Nina has the 500… next bike to the channel an FTR? ***Crosses fingers***😅
Duuude I wish!! I gotta get my money up first though 😅 The problem is that I’m addicted to cheap bikes…and the FTR isn’t cheap. I keep ending up with multiple cheap bikes instead of one really nice one 😂
Thanks Slight!!🤘🏻
I know what u mean, gotta VTX 1300 man I love that bike, always wonder why Honda discontinued, guess sales just weren't there.. dying to get my hands on an 1100 to see how they ride
Used to have a Rebel 250 and a Yamaha 750 Virago in the 90s. Although I loved the upgrade to the 750 on the highway, you can't beat the nimbleness of the Rebel. Don't know the difference in power of Rebel 250 and 300 but mine rode easy at 75-85 mph all day! Rode from Atlanta to DC. DC to Boston round-trip. Buku rides DC to Lancaster Pa. From ATL after a valve job it cruised at 90 for awhile. I did have to stop for gas 6 times and unkink and lube the chain and top off some oil. But that was the best vehicle I've ever owned. At 65 mph my 80 lbs of gear, tent, camping stuff and tenor sax and I went into a deep wobble when one of two straps that ratcheted down snapped. The bike righted itself and I was able to pull over safely. Viva la Rebel!
The rebel 300 doesn't go any faster than 82/83 mph in stock form. It's a single cylinder thumper. I think the old rebel was a twin, probably had more up top.
Great deal. Now a days finding a Rebel 300 for that price is a deal.
3:44 2016 was announcement year of the Rebel 500.
2017 first year of new Rebel with all the good stuff (EFI, Disc Brakes, Gas Gauge, whatever else)
I think Facelift Models were 2019 and after, maybe 2020 and after, but in all honesty as much as the 2017-2020 colors looked nice, having Halogen headlight on a motorcycle seems a bit... something.
I've had two bikes (out of only three) that had halogens, useful if you're a commuter at night. As withthe 2022 KLR with LED Headlights, turn signals, brake lights all stock, people thought I had a highbeam on and would straight up flash their brights at me. Shit was blinding.
But during daytime? Gimme that LED since Granny can't tell difference between an orange-red sunset and a red stoplight much less an orange-red seunset and an orange-red motorcycle.
Jeez that's a great deal. I paid 3K OtD for an 06 Boulevard with 40K miles and felt like that was fair. Enjoy it!
Crazy idea, but some old rebels 😮
I looked at the rebel for my second cruiser have a Royal enfield super meteor but waiting for cf moto clc very similar to rebel
Decent price for sure
Haha yesss stoked for Nina!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I can't imagine making the trip across 68 on any bike but especially on a 300
I like it that’s why I’m here I’m a Honda guy
dude, you're not an addict. You're a collector :)
Look at it this way... you could do what VW did and mix and match the panels so ech one is a different colour. and then you have a fleet of Harlequin Rebels!
the little & light 1/2 moon scar on the grip... tells me it fell over. I have a very similar scar on my grip, but it was knocked over by someone else, & also broke the ball off the end of the clutch lever. I have to wonder why the levers are so long actually, being shorter doesn't affect the use of them and they are less likely to get damaged again if they are shorter. Maybe on the next bike I'll actually cut them down, round them off, and pop some rubber or heat shrink over them to make them that little bit different to everyone else's!
Rebel 500 here.
Honda rebel king of the central eastern seaboard hahaha. All rebel owners in Maryland bow to you apparently.
I still love my OG 2017 Rebel 500 in the Grey Metallic. The best thing i have done was getting Metzler Cruistecs for her. The second best thing is a LED headlight bulb. I changed the brake fluid in mine last month. I am almost due for a new chain as well.
If we have the chance to do tires before our trip, it’ll 100% be Cruisetecs! I’ve been absolutely loving them on my 1100! And an LED upgrade is a definite must too, especially since Nina’s used to her 300’s LED headlight.
@@LifeOfBurch I put in the Auxito LED from Amazon. The beam pattern is the same as the stock bulb due to the Halogen glass but it's a much whiter light and much more bright especially the high beam. I've had cars flash me in the middle of the day despite it being legal in Wisconsin to run your highbeam all the time during the day on motorcycles.
What town are you in. Looks like a great place to hang out.I am over in the central part of Delaware.
bobber / chopper build on it?? would love to see one
Dealerships are insane man. I live near LA and they wanted over 11k otd for a 2023 R3.
Now get a Nightster and send one of those to Me. As we are not getting rebel series in India.. 😅
Dude I have the same same bike - 2017 500 "pre-facelift". Friggin nuts cowinkydink that I dropped a video about mine the same day you did about yours. No joke, when I got mine last year it had one mile on it. Paid something like $2300 for it.
Congrats on the new bike brotha, I'm currently rocking a Navi and will be upgrading to a grom to get more comfortable with shifting, after the grom I intend on upgrading to a rebel 500 or rebel 1100, do you find you ride the 500 or 1100 more, I want to take longer cruises and wonder if the 500 is still good for longer rides and I see you and Nina will be going on a 6hr ride and she will be on the 500, if I plan on only buying one what would you recommend, would I be wanting more power than a 500 at some point, should I just pull the trigger and go with the 1100 off the bat or do you think the 500 will be good for 90% of highway rides? thx for your input and keep up the great work.
A 500 is plenty on the highway.
dude, i strait up guessed 3000...no kidding
Keep Honda red tank. Only change I think that would also look good is the Honda wing badge in white
Yeah buddy
Is your fav one the rebel 1100? And do you think it's worth it even with the troubles you had with it?
But have you ever bought the original 1986 Rebel 250 or ridden it? I have, Pepperage farm remembers, and I drove the tractor.
I wanna know where you find these good deals on marketplace 😭 I’ve been looking for MONTHs all the good deals are states away
Hey Burch, I love the Rebel content and think they are super cool bikes. Youve helped fire up my interest in biking over the last while, I wanted an 1100 but am currently priced out of the dealer options. Ive sat on the 300 and 500 and feel a bit big on them. I like the way the Kawasaki Eliminator feels under me, and its marketed as a direct competitor to the Rebel 500. I was just curious if you have any opinions on the Eliminator. I value your input and thank you for the perspectives you offer.
You’re in luck my guy! Last year I had the chance to ride and review an Eliminator. Check out that video here- ruclips.net/video/1STtAHuGbgo/видео.htmlsi=3HWOrBPUjJa9KlFe
@LifeOfBurch This is great feedback. The spec sheet comparison was well presented. I really enjoyed the ride visuals and evaluation of maneuverability. I did plan to replace the mirrors very first should I choose to buy one.
Something I hadn't considered and really thought about when you pointed it out was the way that the shifter/brake felt with the way the tank sits. I really enjoyed the tank size and feel, but wasn't the biggest fan of turning my foot in to hit the breaks. I'll have to see if there's a kit out there to make these a bit more ergonomic. Thank you for the quality content and quick responses as always. I appreciate you.
@@xilch0 happy to help man!! 🙌🏻🙏🏻
I just got a 2023 last week. Haven't driven my car since the day i picked it up😂
Motorcycles definitely have a way of doing that to ya 😅😂 Congrats on the new bike!! 🙌🏻 🎉
I bought my Rebel 500 2018 about 8 months ago, and it only had 4500 miles on it
I would say that collecting Honda Rebels is akin to collecting Starwars figurines, Pokemon, or even Cats. but if the 500 is an upgrade for the 300, then it's totally justified... and someone else would love the 300 just as much as their 12 Cats... I mean the Scooter they got to see if they would enjoy riding a Motorbike, Really, that's what I meant!
Honda rebel 500 blinker relocation, is what I’m trying to figure out. That huge rear plate holder/brake light set up is an eye sore
Can I buy one 300 from you? I would pick up in July and Ride it back to Florida... can't find those deals for my first bike, everything here is either over 4k or really bad bikes around 3.5k.
Would you consider a CB650r. ? For a change of pace 😊
When your in ohio are you going to plan any kind of meet up or go to any bike nights
68k miles on my Rebel 500.
Yooooo. - the title
? You good?, oh okay, good. - the intro
Took ya on a rollercoaster ride of emotions 🎢 😂
I want one honda rebel lol. I'd trade my 800 miles '23 Navi for the one rebel you don't want as much xD it's a great bike I love but can't go out of town with it that easily which I do often. prob too far from Texas though xD not sure where you're from but I think you've had 3 Navi's
Have you seen the 2024 navi
Bro send me one please 😢. I don’t even have a motorcycle and the Honda rebel is a dream. I got to ride a rebel 300 once and I fell in love with it. No honda rebel is readily available for sale in my country. Couldn’t afford one rn if it was. I would accept any Honda rebel preferably a 300 cause it’s what I feel in love with tbh.
I can probably look this up but being lazy...can't all the good parts like the gas tank, clutch, lights, etc be swapped from 300 to 500?
Thanks!
Thanks James!! Taco Tuesday on you this week! 🙌🏻 🌮 🙏🏻

Do you think at some point she will want to upgrade again to the 1100?
How different is the 2024 version?

just wish they made the tank 4 gallon or more, so we had a proper range.
I’m curious if the caufman exhaust is too loud for distance riding on the 300? Thinking about getting one but not sure about the noise at 60 mph for hours
It’s still a “thumper” but I’ve done quite a few multi hour trips with it and never experienced any headaches etc. it’s loud, people hear me before they see me but not obnoxious.
I'm so close to buy ether a rebel 500 or a 2024 nx 500
4:59 Before I went with the Kawasaki as the new motorcycle because just the gas tank size alone was a huge pro, I was looking at Rebel 500 for a long time as you might remember, but broski...
Honda Rebel (forget the year) did have a white gas tank AND white rear fender.
Another year they had a nice Orange gas tank colorway,
Here's what I'm getting at, Creamsicle. Those orange candy outside, vanilla ice cream inside - ice cream popsicle things, so good.
I see this is for Nina in comments, so perhaps Creamsicle isn't the most internet-proof name around because hey, creeps exist (albeit I haven't seem them in comments lately, so maybe they left?)
Anyways, Creamsicle colorway or not, point being Honda Rebel has a good variety of colors, and you could very likely mix and match a rear fender and gas tank to get a nice stock-custom paint scheme.
The SE model in silver, the white model, and it was either the sand tan or the cargo-pant-green but there's three rear fenders that are painted, might be another two at this point.
Anyways.. Honda Rebel you have a lot of freedom in paint just even from stock I mean.
Yea dude there’s sooooo many stock color choices for these things! If Nina keeps it I think she already has one picked, but I don’t wanna spoil it 👀
@@LifeOfBurch oooh, red tank, blue fender from the 300, and put a White Seat cover on it haha.
Americans think it'll be patriotic, but she could know inside it's red white and blue for British flag.
Turn it into a bobber, put a bigger tank on it and lift the handlebars
I know you've tested the eliminator, but why not?
