Where Honda cut corners on this bike, I understand why they did. I also understand where they choose to come with the goods and give the bike some guts and swagger. I think the new Rebel is ultimately redeemed by the blank slate approach Honda took. Anyone keen to mod or tweak the Rebel's style or performance will find a veritable motorcycle hobby kit of easy options to make the bike their own in ride and curb appeal. And at the price point, I think Honda nailed it. This is, after all, the company that brought us the Cub.

Some people will look down at me for riding it but here's what In have to say about that; ride what you like to ride...as long as its not a scooter!!! lol
@@TheAj0323 That's where I disagree with most reviews. This Rebel is depicted as a beginner bike which you buy because it looks cool, and then you move up to Harley or some other "big motorcycle". Personally I've been riding for 7 seven years and I've changed my mind quite a few time but I try not to focus on big numbers anymore. Easy to use and reasonable can be enjoyed by seasoned riders, as long as don't get boring too quickly. It's too early for me to say but I got bored on much more powerful machines so it's not the issue.
I thought this was a harsh review for the Rebel. To be honest, I think Americans are too use to their Harley Davidsons which in my opinion don’t handle or corner well. Dude I'm 5'8 and 190 pounds and got a 90cc two stroke bike from the 70's and I love it to bits. Displacement is nice because everyone else is in a rush, if everyone ran at 300cc speeds then no one would want for more. That's why we need to make it legal for bikes to have caltrop dispensers if they're below 600ccs. Make bikers scary again!
One thing is clear ... somebody in this Production is a HUGE fanboy of the British TOP GEAR TV Show ... the entire flavour of this review is what TOP GEAR have done for years. Well studied and well executed. Oh ... and the Rebel 500 is an awesome Bike ... think I'll probably buy one myself because it is sooooo mod-able.
What I appreciate about FortNine bike reviews is each is a unique and expressive look at a machine. They're not all cookie cutter. Approach is everything in the motorcycle world. People buying a Rebel 500 don't give a rip how it stacks up against an H2, and vise-versa.
Geez, these guys make awesome review!! I can picture myself living with this bike and the way they personified the bike created emotional bonding with me.
Just now seeing this video- kudos on the review, the editing, and especially the Warriors! My god I want to watch this over and over! I couldn’t help but think of anyone unfamiliar with the movie every time the bottles started clicking together, lol! GREAT GREAT JOB!
It's not ONE OF my fave movies, it is literally my favourite movie. I watched it when it first came out and I still watch it occasionally even now, all my kids and grandkids have been MADE to watch it, though they were all grateful afterwards! Come out to play!
I have been watching Fort Nine videos for a while, and the warriors reference in this one got me to subscribe. Good job guys. Elegant production to get me that classic warriors feel. Made my morning, and yeah I can dig it.
swear to God, more videos like this in a week and I'll stop watching TV forever, except, of course for live sports :-), this has gone beyond simple reviews now, it's the art of storytelling, it's curatorial, the graphics are topnotch, the cinematics rival hollywood, not many would attempt a bike review in the night and that too in natural light, AMAZING!!!!!!!! Don't like the bike though,,,,,,pointless really, even for beginners.
it's amazing to see how the production value improved by leaps and bounds since this video, now matching and much more perfectly complementing the consistent quality in writing and delivery. Great job!
Still waiting... Will Ryan get around to reviewing a Honda Rebel 1100 sometime soon? It's 2022, and the bike has been out for the 2nd year since introduction in 2021.
Thanks for this video. I'm spending the transition from 2020 to 2021 in Viet Nam and pondering the Rebel 500. Your video and homage to The Warriors helped me make the decision.
I really appreciate these reviews. Funny and enjoyable, yet gets down to the serious points that need to be made. I’ve been interested in the Indian scout for quite some time and I’ve seen many many reviews on it but the only high quality ones that I’ve seen, I feel that the people behind the review seem a little bit payed off. If I were to see a single review from FortNine; however, then I would have no doubts on whether or not it would be a worthy bike to start on. I would also like to know if it would be worthy to keep further into my experience.
I am going on holidays soon, and after that i will do my driving license for motorbikes, i was watching for good cruisers for beginners and when i saw this motorbike i just fall in love. This motorbike is my dream now *.*
I tried to buy a rebel 500 when they first came out. But my credit wasn’t where it should’ve been I was just getting started in life. Three years later I’m still wanting this bike so I’m going to pay cash for it next week. Really looking forward to riding it. Gave consideration to what I needed and bought a Rebel. The Dunlop Tyres were fine but cornered like a truck. I replaced them with Pirelli Night Dragons and the bike is better than new. Great commuter, carry’s luggage, but the only disappointment is the tiny fuel tank ( great economy but only 200 kms).

I really appreciated the effort you guys put into making the video, great work, you are now my favorite bike person!
"I'm sure the Rebel 300 will sell in thousands to people who weigh 90 pounds"
ok just call me out then it's cool
Jeez how skinny are you
@@dr.science_0177 bruh thats too rude
Same! Though I'm more than 90lb, I am 5'0.
@@ItsJustMe0585 115lbs and 5'9" here
Dude I'm 5'8 and 190 pounds and got a 90cc two stroke bike from the 70's and I love it to bits.
The throwback to "The Warriors" was a nice touch!
I was a rebel, my son was a rebel and I will certainly buy a rebel 500! It's good to be a REBEL!!
So good, so sophisticated and pleasant reviews of motorcycling stuff - it makes you wish to make the acquantaince of the guys of FortNine👏
The Warriors is one of my favorite movies of all time. Love this video. haha
It's not ONE OF my fave movies, it is literally my favourite movie. I watched it when it first came out and I still watch it occasionally even now, all my kids and grandkids have been MADE to watch it, though they were all grateful afterwards! Come out to play!
Good catch. Loved the beer bottles... The movie.. And the bike!
What a piece of art for a nice bike, well done.
This is the best reviewing channel in RUclips.
I have been watching Fort Nine videos for a while, and the warriors reference in this one got me to subscribe. Good job guys. Elegant production to get me that classic warriors feel. Made my morning, and yeah I can dig it.
Absolutely loved The Warriors theme in this video
This is the most enjoyable review I have ever seen on anything. Great piece of work
great review. Just bought a 2018 rebel
I love "The Warriors" style editing. Keep it up! Your work is much appreciated!
The cinematography 🔥
I still watch old FortNine videos just for the heck of it, so nice to watch these lovely reviews :')
swear to God, more videos like this in a week and I'll stop watching TV forever, except, of course for live sports :-), this has gone beyond simple reviews now, it's the art of storytelling, it's curatorial, the graphics are topnotch, the cinematics rival hollywood, not many would attempt a bike review in the night and that too in natural light, AMAZING!!!!!!!!
Don't like the bike though,,,,,,pointless really, even for beginners.

Live sports are ass
I'll definitely be interested to see your review of the new Rebel 1100. My friend is thinking of buying one.
This video truly deserves my like and subscribe
friend of mine got a 2023 recently and loves it. he’s about 6’1 and so far only talked good about it
it's amazing to see how the production value improved by leaps and bounds since this video, now matching and much more perfectly complementing the consistent quality in writing and delivery.
Great job!
Great review. Love "The Warriors" references! I just watched the movie this past weekend for the first time!
Still waiting... Will Ryan get around to reviewing a Honda Rebel 1100 sometime soon? It's 2022, and the bike has been out for the 2nd year since introduction in 2021.
I hope your channel becomes the number 1 motorcycle channel on youtube.
you deserve it.
Watching a FortNine review doesn't really feel like a motorcycle review. If feels like art. Kudos to you guys!
Hey Josef - we might be in luck! I've been trying to get my hands on a Scout for a while now, and it looks like it will happen this year :) ~RF9
I do dig it but I think I'm really going to dig it even more when you review and feature the new Rebel 1100.
"Can you dig it?"
Big Bang Duke that reference tho
I absolutely don't get it! Can you guys help me out? :D
"That's him he shot em, they shot Cyrus the warriors did it!" Bam elbow to the mouth.
@@TheOcco99 Watch a movie called, "The Warriors"
Your bike review vids are by far the most artsy of all other bike review vids! Thanks for your creative vids.
Your production quality has come so far. These old videos are good, but they pale in comparison to masterpieces that you put out today!
I dig the max payne art direction, but it was just a little too dark here and there to see what you were describing.
This was a homage to the "Warriors"
LOL Max Payne, nice try kid. Look up "The Warriors".
The music, the bottle sounds, the dj at the end, nailed the entire Warriors.
67k Miles on my Rebel 500 so far. 😎
The music in these is so good.
I am going on holidays soon, and after that i will do my driving license for motorbikes, i was watching for good cruisers for beginners and when i saw this motorbike i just fall in love. This motorbike is my dream now *.*
I'd love to see you re-review this.
I had a rebel 500 for my first bike. Fantastic starter bike but that's about it. You end up wanting either more comfort, more power, or both.
The clinking bottles sound effects in the video remind me of the 70's movie The Warriors (Warriors come out & play!)
I'm positive that's what they were shooting for... In every scene the bike is saying that to him then he walks up to it and says something to it.
Watching this review so many years later and am still in awe. Makes me want to ride. Thanks so much
I tried to buy a rebel 500 when they first came out. But my credit wasn’t where it should’ve been I was just getting started in life. Three years later I’m still wanting this bike so I’m going to pay cash for it next week. Really looking forward to riding it. This review was awesome it just makes me even more excited to finally get my bike. I’m getting the 500
Honda Rebel may not be a rebel, but its perfect for a beginner looking for a cause.
I thought I was watching a movie
I have almost zero interest in this bike, but the information provided and quality camera work made me watch the whole video... nice job guys!
Im 15, own a Kawi kz550 with 60,000 miles that I bought for $250, have $562 in the bank account and have been watching every motorcycle review you guys have put out numerous amounts of times shortlisting bikes as if I could actually afford them lmfao, but I keep comjng back so great work I feel like I should have to pay to watch these reviews 👍👍👍
