- The 2018 Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 might bear the same badge as your lawnmower and it may be an Austrian masquerading as a Swedish hipster but after half a century out of the street bike game, we're glad Husky is back at it. But is the Vitpilen more than just a reality show makeover?

He talked for 10 minutes yet I still can't tell if he loves or hates the bike. He leaves the opinion up to me. Amazing.
He hates them
Same here. just a lot of mumbling, and trying to be funny, I dont mind a good pun once in a while, but it lacks real content,
He basically described all the design features and pointed out that they all improve the KTM thi sbike is based on. He finished by pointing out that KTM has made a rebranded bike that is a threat to their own branded product. All in poetry, basically. Fantastic job.
@@_Everyone__ Maybe you're the problem. I'm not a native English speaker. But I understood the video. He described everything about the bike (engineering, styling, what it's trying to be, what it really is and the ride) and left the decision up to the audience to take. It's the perfect journalism. He didn't shoved his opinion down our throat. And He didn't tried to spoon fed the review. Maybe that is the problem. He's subtle. Not "in your face" type of guy.
@@_Everyone__ look at you and your tiny brain, sad life 💔
This is not a review. This is art.
It's like the old Top Gear reviews but for bikes. Sublime.
I don't watch for the art, I watch for the content. Art with no content is just mental masturbation.
@@azb2010 bravo...
... You missed the point.
Well said
You said it.
The blade runner theme and replicant metaphor was very well played and perfect. You did Ridley Scott a solid!
I appreciate all of his videos, but man that tears in rain reference really hit home
Like tears... in the rain😢
I geeked out when he said that.
...but describe in single words only the good things that come into your mind about your mother.
This video made me buy the vitpilen 250 (The 701 isn't available here in India, and I'm broke AF)...
getting it delivered tomorrow...
here the smallest we have is the 401, which is interestingly being priced cheaper than the Duke 390 these days, really considering buying one

Natil evideya :p
@@jesusizquierdo3831 Same here in the US. I have seen new 401s for $4900 usd. Honda CB300R territory.
Arun bro are you really broke ??, Broke people don't buy vitpilen 250 in India 😂. They buy splendor
What did I just watch a Netflix series or a simple review?! I guess it's a simple review that beats some Netflix productions LOL
Seriously! Lol
yeah i get the chills too man
TE LA MAMASTE! 🤣🤣🤣
They are not paying you enough.

You gotta watch his Honda Rebel and Harley bobber review... this guys talent has no limitations.
The lack of reviews from FortNine has forced me to come back and watch this again.
Kattrap it sure is...

'n'-th time watching. Never gets old.
I feel you, I also want a vitpilen pretty bad

2020!
I don´t know man, 2 and a half years later, I came for like tenth time to watch this video again. I can´t even express how much I like it.
10th time? Those are rookie numbers
I studied blade runner at school around 6 months ago (the first one) and I keep seeing quotes from that movie. Kinda nuts that they went with the replicant theme
I like it so much i bought the bike..
@@demonsync57 Same.
The husky engineers after watching this: 'we did what?'
It does remind me some of having to analyze all the hidden meanings in the book “To Kill a Mockingbird” in school, only for the author to come out years later and say “dude, I just wrote a book…”
KTM: *"They did WHAT?!?!"*
Hahaha
@@carsons5750 I always kinda liked that, the idea that people can take away from a work of art more than what the author intended to put in it. "Death of the Author" and all that
@@TheMonkeystick and funnily enough, a lot of the times when the author tries to downplay what their work meant it's generally to avoid having to talk about it in an overtly pretentious manner/or they are just (as the 1975 would put it) scared of sincerity

Nah.... its better .....top gear doesn't have the same credibility.
This is like modern top gear. For the classic top gear of motorcycles check out 44 Teeth ;)
This review is in a league of its own.
Ten (gorgeous) minutes later, I’m realizing that I’m not sure if the review *wants* me to like the bike or not. It’s almost feels like I’m being encouraged to come to my own conclusion. Bravo, F9. Bravo.
And that's something to be proud of.

FortNine is in a ‘league of its own’.
Jane Leelavathi strongly agree 😂
Check out "Stories of Bike" channel. In the league somewhere.
So...when is FortNine: Husqvarna Vitpilen 2 coming to the theaters?
I believe that is the svatpillion
He has enough originality not to need sequels.
Eagerly waiting.
the best motorcycle review ever created by a human being. I would go to the cinema for this shit
More plot points than a John LeCarre novel and more twists than a canyon hwy!
What max said. I agree fully.
😂
How much did this cost to produce, it would be in a movie for the price.
"did you not realise, it's pointed at you"... Closure of the decade 👌
Product reviews are my favorite. This channel reviews bikes better then any other
All other bike reviews, "Wow this bike is smooth" "It turns real good ok" "It has blinkers where you'd expect them to be" "Its a color!"
Motorcyclist mag is really turning out the quality lately, especially the Goldwing vs. K1600 video.
"More functional as birthcontrol than transportation" Died right there lol
You or the baby?
@David McKee guess, the digestive fluids changed direction to the uterus.
This is my 4th or 5th time watching this video. Ryan, you are truly the best reviewer on this website. The cinematography, the music, the angles... plus, anyone can tell me the specs sheet and how it handles, but this deep analysis and description of how it FEELS is so much more valuable.
1:06 That blade runner reference was so good.
The intro was also a reference to the movie.
You should win best script, best cinematography, best editing and best sound design if there were youtube oscars.
I am sure, there is a team of great people behind this. He couldn't do this alone. Kudos for every single one of them!
And the worst script for bike reviews.
The script is not bad.
The editing and cinematography is done by Aneesh its in the description
Amazing video Ryan and the team, fabulous bit of production - absolutely top drawer (oh, and the bike's not bad either!).....look forward to riding one of these. Keep up the great work chaps, all us others can only aspire to such greatness...
Hi there TMF , don’t put yourself down buddy, I absolutely love your reviews because they give me a true sense of riding the bike. 👍🏻👍🏻
...thank you very much....
And with no WV's at all anywhere, lovely though the art is, they can't claim your realism.
You should have a go on one of these machines mr Flyer! :-)
Im a WV...;)
Brutal, honest, science-backed yet pleasant and visually appealing review straight from an Engineer's mind. A masterpiece. Kudos to you, sir.
This was not what I expected from a motorbike review, this is next next level!🙌🏿
Ryan, you and your team make content that is honest and exciting to watch. Thank you for another great one! Keep up the good work!
May I join the echo chamber of praise, please? Outstanding cinematography once again, but what may not be immediately evident is the time and energy spent genuinely researching and understanding this brand and product, it’s history and modern interpretation. Even more amazing is your unflappable insight required not to stop at the obvious, and denounce the rig as an over-priced style play. And lastly the effort in your writing is clear. The viewer has to hang on every word, because there is no filler. Every turn of phrase precisely chosen, steeped in meaning, and connections made throughout, with callbacks and subtle humor.
If I were to ask anything of your talents however, it would be variety of tone. This is the second Hollywood quality production I’ve seen from you that seemed to combine the elevated version of the Twilight zone narrator with the Sin City aesthetic as a backdrop to the artful execution of a motorcycle review beyond compare.
The description on the dvd might read:
“It’s a dark city in the middle of the night. It rained an hour ago, but a young Joe Friday is trying to forget about something, and once again blowing off steam on a new machine, and he notices a few interesting things. His mind wanders through the history of it, and how it is now. The late summer night becomes a new adventure, And he want to tell you about it.”
You have more. I know that is in you. And I look forward to seeing it.
Still, a great video.
It's actually a Blade Runner homage. If you haven't seen it, you really should. It's one of the greatest movies ever made, nearly as good as a Fortnine review.
I actually mega didn't enjoy blade runner
You put it so right in my opinion. Especially about the research and insight. I'm every time amazed about that.
It seems so simple but it takes so much. I adore it. I would like to know what's all behind this video's but like to believe that it is just a few guys who love motorcycling and making a video about it.
The bike is overpriced, fanboys be damned. You can get much better for the money.
Well put Sir!
This is the highest production quality motorcycle review I have ever seen. Thank you very much for this you guys!
I honestly have no words to describe your talent. You guys are so overwhelmingly deserving of every single praise and applaud on this freaking platform.
I love your work.
That felt like a frickin movie! ExaCTLY what I subscribed for!
My favourite F9 video so far! The Neon, The Sound, The Gun, The Blade Runner. What a channel. You folks are sick!
After a year still one of the best motorcycle reviews out there
Ive been on RUclips since it pretty much came out, and I have to say, this is one of the best (if not THE BEST) video I have watched. The story telling, the B roll, the art, the metaphors, wow. This content is better than some A rated movies out there. Amazing work, that should be considered for an emmy
I like the hit on Ikea "it is Swedish and you don't have to put it together"
As a Swede I am offended 😤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
ok, dude... I'm a year late for this comment, but this was amazing, well recorded, amazing analysis, fun all the way through, interesting and engaging... can't say enough good things about your review, I loved it.
zKahen sound like a run of the mill comment coming from something by fortnine
@@rodrigoalmendro3118 i reallized that afterwards, i'm new to this channel and already saw most of it's content. really liked it.
I still keep coming here after years and even if I have the bike, find this review so relaxing, precise and well done. Love it.
I own my Husky 701 Svartpilen for one year now and to be honest, your video was one of the reasons to get the bike. I work in the media aswell and believe me I can devide good work from okay work, because I produced several films during the last 15 years. This is stunning! A peace of art and the evidence, that you know the topic. Don't know, how many times I wached it, but I am touched everytime. Respect & regards from Germany. It's a masterpiece! THX4THAT! Alex
You are the hardest working team in motorcycling on RUclips. Your content in amazing.
that's what happens when somebody does quality over quantity.
Underappreciated an under rated one short of the HAT TRICK!
If FortNine ever starts selling direct to the U.S., I’ll start buying my kit from you guys exclusively. Ryan does some of the most honest reviews of bikes and gear that I have ever seen - more so than the moto press outlets - and it’s amazing to watch each video get better and better. I’d love to support you guys for this great content!
I second this! You can only listen to Anthony slur the RevZilla slogan so many times...
One of my favourite videos on the internet. Couldn't tell you how many times I have watched this.
I love the production quality, the scripts, the information, the delivery. I'm totally addicted to this channel. Keep it up!
Outstanding 🎥 young gifted and talented man.
He really is, informative and engaging... Fortnine has and without a dought will continue to be a great channel 👍👍
(Love ur channel btw)
Not man. Team.
This is not just a review... This is a master piece.... Oscars need a new category of awards
This is not just the most beautiful motorcycle review video I’ve ever seen, it’s up there with the best video on this platform. I can’t wait to get this bike.
His delivery and charisma for presenting on all topics on this channel is second to none.
The ending of this gave me legit goosebumps, that's amazing in itself
This is like mid 2000s Top Gear review.
AMD I LOVE IT
I bought a Svartpilen 401 recently. It's so light and fun to ride but surprisingly quick too. I love it.
X2 😎 😎 😎
Every videos feels like a Netflix episode! Awesome!!
Please, don't compare Netflix with art
i enjoy these reviews way more than I probably should!!
That is because they are not worth much anymore
Probably binge worthy
Omg the cinematography was strong with this one. loved it, best I've (ever) seen.
The svartpilen is a beauty as well.
greetings from Austria ;)
I keep coming back and rewatching it, catching more bladerunner references each time, and also just for the pure entertainment. There's a plot and story unfolding. Surprises, false leads. And of course, as always, beautiful cinematography. Probably my favourite out of F9
The best motorbike channel on all of RUclips. The quality the perfection. Everything is just sublime. Please keep doing this awesome thing you're doing.
All hail Aneesh for that sweet editing and cinematography
I just checked the description who the editor was
Yes the cinematography was beautiful.
What I got from this review is that this bike may not be in a league of it's own, but it sure is out of my league
The Brothers Primm Why?
@@daytonasayswhat9333 sounds too sporty for me, I'm gonna look at the 401
Something about the bike being a “fBEEPing savage” flashed like a ⚠️ in my survival cortex.

Had to watch this again, years later. I never get tired of your logic, 🏆
After watching every one of FortNine's reviews, I say to myself, "Yup, THAT is the bike that I want!"
Award-worthy cinematography, content, and narration! Thank you, FortNine! Thank you!
damn i never realized how much i want a vitpilen until just now.
You people are pushing the boundaries and my expectations for RUclips content. So good!
I keep coming back to this video, again and again.
How a review becomes something greater . I cannot tell you how good that was in words . Great review .
Hands down, the best motorcycle review I've ever watched.
If you like this one make sure you watch his review on the Ural
Amazing as always. First you do a Top Gun take on a review now you're doing Blade Runner ? God your reviews really are the best
With a touch of Stranger Things
More than a touch, I'd say. ~RF9
Holy shit the gods have answered back!!!!
Probably not enough time to answer. As long as they keep creating such amazing videos I have no complain.
By chance I just re watched the original Blade Runner today before watching this review. Funny coincidence and yet of course another phenomenal review!
This IS my favorite by far ... wonderful imagery ... super job guys! The city looks so good, great angles ... etc, etc
always learning something new with Ryan. it's like looking behind the veil straight at the designers. brilliant!
This is still one of the best review videos I have ever come across. Cinematic and informative.
This wasn't an episode, this was a movie! What a cinematography lately, dang you guys are upping the motorchannel game big time! :D
Personally, I think I'd prefer a Benelli Leoncino. Think it's priced more attractively; makes for matter value. If you want a literbike... Honda has the CB1000R within their new 'Neo Sports Café' line-up. Not for me... but there must be some people... could be worse though. Back when Aprilia tried that sorta thing with the Aprilia Moto 6.5. Yeah, that didn't do it for me at all. Actually was reading through a Rieju catalog recently and saw they had a Rieju Century 125. That sure looks the part and must be enough horses for in and around the city at a superfair price.
Benelli? As in, the shotgun manufacturer?
Uhh... I know Beretta that's gun-related... not sure if Benelli is.
Benelli has a great history (think mostly with low cc tuner blocks on mopeds and motorbikes).
@@scowler92 Come on - Benelli is the oldest Italian motorcycle brand, and yes they produce shotguns as well as mc's.
Check out their Leoncino 500 - really a great little bike for the price
@@Greatdane-qf8kd
I guess guns and bikes go hand-in hand. CZ, Husqvarna, Benelli.
I just picked up a 2020 Vitpilen 701 and it was love at first ride. This review was the inspiration/catalyst for that decision, thanks Ryan!
Watching this 2 years after publication... Still gorgeous piece of cinema and product review. Still the most underrated channel!
Have to say. Amazing production quality. The media team is kickass and are having fun.
In all honesty... THE BEST review of the 701 I have had a chance to come across. Great video!
Man. Your reviews are so good. From scripting and mis en scene to direction and editing, it's expertly done. Hugely entertaining, to boot.
The G310 one was next-level, but they're all good. Will watch then for information or pure entertainment. Brilliant. Hope you and Steve are rewarded handsomely.
I really enjoy the different video style experimentations (this night retro turned out great btw) and these reviews tell stories that no other mc channel will. Keep it up F9 team, your fan base is only bound to get bigger from here.
The execution of this video is wonderful. Everything from the cinematography to the narration flows beautifully. Well done.👍🏾
whenever i’m sad i come back to watch this video and it brings back the love i have for fun :)
I've been watching a lotta moto mag and revzilla lately, and as much as i love those guys and what they do, coming back to rewatch a fortnine video seriously knocks them down a peg. What a hell of a channel
The production quality of this review is insane.
The Fortnine crew is continually out doing themselves. Great job!
Bro your production quality is INSANE!
Amazing work!
This video made me get a 2021 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. Picked it up this week, couldn't be happier. Thanks Ryan!
F9, Your movies are epic. I watch them for the humour, the art and originality. Sometimes I don’t even know what bike you are talking about, you are to bikes what TopGear was to cars. Keep going!!
Just tested one and couldn’t agree more. Don’t think anyone has put it so eloquently and elegantly clear - best review I’ve ever seen. Subbed!

Got my motorcycle licence last month, and once I finish RCAF basic training I’m going to be getting a bike. A Svartpilen 401 to be exact. I never would have even considered a Svartpilen or Husqvarna in general if it weren’t for this video. Thank you Ryan.
