- At the age of 89, Mdm Teow Swee Cheow is a senior herself, but that isn't stopping her from volunteering with the Lion Befrienders, a social service agency supporting socially isolated seniors. I don't know how many senior citizens living alone in my city. But, for sure, I will be one of them in next future, as I already living alone since 2018. Maybe, I should follow Madam Teow Swee Cheow, to help others while still can, she has inspired me. Thank you, CNA for this video.

@@msn1590 some ppl her age are already in hospice. As long you move, cycle, walk your body & mind will be healthy rather than sedentary. Few months back I visited with a friend her 92 years old mum. I saw lot of young dementia patients. There was 1 who just change her pyjamas but got no control over her bowel & the bed was wet & she got to change clothes again. She can't help herself so nurse got to do changing & dressing up & change bedsheet. Imagine everyday you got to change a few times a day. I saw a lot of Indonesian & foreigner in the aircon ward too. As Singapore is an aging population & the young has to work they do not have time to look after their aged parents. Not many can afford a maid for the elderly & clean the house & hospice is neither cheap but a necessity. The no. of elderly is more than caregiver worldwide.
