Neil is absolutely so well-spoken, and such a deep thinker, that it makes me a little sad. As a former "gifted child" myself, I know that the price I paid for that gift, was being unable to make friendships with people my own age. I'm having to spend my 20's and 30's catching up on THAT skill. It's frustrating, but it could have been worse. I could have gotten crippling perfectionism, or a constant state of panic. I know people who got those curses in exchange for their blessings. I merely hope that the price he will have to pay for his gift... will be one that he can handle.
This is such a lovely comment it resonates with me. I hope to be this well rounded in thought one day. I try for it, but unfortunately I have that constant state of panic....hahaha
@@beth2729 Aw thank you! I certainly had the panic-brain for a long time myself. Anxiety meds help, eheh. And I'm naturally judgmental so I don't have THAT problem lol. But seeing her reactions to the news, that helped build my "talks like mom" part of my brain. So I'm grateful to her :)
I really appreciate your sentiment here, and I get it, so I feel for you. I share your hopes for Neil, these children, and their generation. However you may be to a degree projecting somewhat regarding young Neil here. He seems bright, but the label "Gifted" and what it means for children who receive it has not changed, as you said it can be a blessing or a curse, so one should not diagnose, pathologize, or use it as a label for kids as you once were at about the same age.
If they were all indians and they understood what he actually is doing, he would have touched everyone's feet.....thats how elders bless kids in India....but he didn't do....coz they wont get it and think he lost coin or something.
I really love and respect that Gwen said she thinks kids today have it rough. We are so used to hearing "kids these days are so lazy and soft and have it so easy." It was very refreshing to actually hear an elder acknowledge there are unique challenges the new generations are facing It was also very mature of the kids to say they recognize the elders probably had tough lives too
I feel like Gwen is somebody you can talk to for years on end, and still learn new things about her history or a new life lesson. I just love how much respect she shows her peers here. She poses great prompts for the group - kind of leading the conversation like a teacher would.
What does death being part of life have to do with it being scary? There's no correlation with that answer. You can say that about anything that scares you. Being part of life does not mean it's not scary.
I mean it’s not all parents. Could be but can’t discredit him. A lot of the things I know and believe are the opposite of my parents taught me. Just depends
totally - I started crying before already and at that point I was sobbing - this was all so wholesome. and I absolutely loved listening to all six of them.
This was one of my favourites. The innocence of these kids and the wisdom of these elderly individuals was just precious. I loved the way they listened to each other. So many people could learn from their example.
Wow Neil is a very intelligent boy and he’s going to be known when he grows up. It’s sad that kids like him will be bullied but the intelligence and the politeness is there as a genuine human. The discrimination he will face because he’s not a Christian or white is sad to me because of just how well spoken he is.
The complete honesty is absolutely refreshing. I appreciate every individual on this panel for expressing their true thoughts on each subject. Bravo! 👏
Gwen speaks with what seems like a love and wisdom gained over a beautiful lifetime. I also loved how she spoke to the children as equals, as did all the others. But she particularly spoke to them at their conversational level, asked them questions in a thought provoking level on their level as well.
Everybody’s talking about how smart Neil is but let’s give Jordana credit for investing her hypothetical million in stocks, starting a business, growing wealth, and helping less fortunate people.
I doubt at that age she actually knows what all of that mean… more like some ideologies she heard at home. She is definitely really thoughtful but you can tell she came from a rich(-er) family, so probably that explains it.
Yes, there is that, but he also acts like a balanced kid whose parents talk with him regularly about the realities of life & don't just prop him up in front of the TV, expecting it to raise him. He's got great conversational skills & speaks easily about tough topics as well as easy ones.

Keep pushing for your gifted and talented programs to get as much support as the kids "falling behind." So many Neils are in the world sitting bored in a classroom with little to no stimulation on a daily basis.
Okay Jordana, I love the transparency in admitting the “bad” side and occasionally thinking mean things because that’s human. It’s how you act in those moments that counts.
@@arduousPopsicle Exactly. Especially when she said she didn't act on those thoughts. It's okay to be mad, Jordana. Feeling angry does not make you a mean or bad person.
The thing is, is they really aren't. We just infantilize kids so much that when we see kids being smart, we automatically assume they're an exception to the rule. I'm not saying they're all typical of 9-year-olds, really just that this kind of intelligence/wisdom is not as uncommon in their age group as everyone assumes and expects.
If a 90 y/o is saying that their glad they're not a part of this generation despite everything they've been through? That should tell you something.....
I think we're all so used to the hardships that we deal with on a daily basis as a society that we normalize them. What that causes is for them to seem not as bad as someone who doesn't find them to be normal might see them as. So, the kids find the bad things they go through to be bad but also just a part of their ordinary lives and hence managable, and what the 90 year olds have gone through to be unknown and terrible. And vise versa. Personally, I still believe life is, as a whole, easier today than it was 90 years ago, but there are different problems now.
I was blessed to have both of my Grandmothers. Both lived to the incredible age of 101. I just wish I’d asked them more questions about their lives as children and growing up in the early 20th century. But oh, the changes and discoveries that occurred during their lifetimes are astounding. I dearly miss them both.
These children are so broad-minded and open-minded at their age. They way they stand by their grounds, yet not de-valuating other people's opinions is just too amazing. 🔥
Aww Jordana “I have a bad side. I have thought bad things I just try not to say them” 😂 It’s so interesting and hilarious to get inside a 9 year olds mind.
@@mykacastro410 I thought it was great that she acknowledged her 'bad side' and that she gets angry easily. I was like that as a child too. That self-awareness is amazing. She seems like a great kid! Love from Sweden!
Millee's words at the end were golden life advice. Suffering is unavoidable. Don't focus on why it happened to you. But respond correctly to the hardships that inevitably arise and you will go forward in life.
I'm not surprised a kid like him would've experienced bullying but it does make me sad. I'm hoping his parents help him learn to balance when to ignore negative attention and when to stand his ground, because it's likely kids like him grow up to repress their feelings since their parents always tell them to ignore bullying and negative comments towards them.

You see some bunch kids in the middle ground talking about life and it’s very interesting How they are experiencing their childhood so I am glad that they talk about their experience as children it made me happy to see them talking about them about how the way life works for them

It was the last few minutes for me. "I hope you have a wonderful life"..
Lily and Jordana are so thoughtful! Neil is obviously a very bright kid, but a lot of people are neglecting Lily and Jordana’s capabilities as well! All 3 of them are so precious and I hope they all get to be the people they want.
We get it let’s include everyone . Overall Neil stands out to be just more knowledgeable so people enjoy hearing him express his thoughts more
@@swervinirvin4574 Okay so what’s the issue? People can uplift Neil and I can also uplift Neil, Jordana, and Lily. Everyone deserves to be celebrated in this video whether you think so or not. You act like i’m disagreeing or something
Jordana saying she’ll invest in stocks 😭💕
Jordana is unreal! She is my favourite, she's reflective and honest.
@@KilahLuna There's no issue per se. But it's also okay to accept that some people are smarter and more articulate than others. Celebrating everyone is implying it's not okay to allow some people to stick out as being particularly special. For example, what about the other two's responses did you find particularly impactful?
7:33 Lily will look back to this video seven years from now and laugh hysterically at herself 😂😂😂😂

Lord, I am paying that price today. Does it ever get better, though? Do you find your tribe? :')
Reporting for roll call of deep thinking children and teens.
My mom was a big influence, she naturally tries to see the best in everyone, see reasons for behavior, and gets down on herself when she can't understand, like, the worst people on the planet!
Started crying at the end, when Neil thanked the elders and they looked at him with all the love in the world. How beautiful and touching 🥺❤️
Me too! So sweet! ✨
If they were all indians and they understood what he actually is doing, he would have touched everyone's feet.....thats how elders bless kids in India....but he didn't do....coz they wont get it and think he lost coin or something.
That's what's missing today. Respect for our elderly.
Both groups blend so well.... The innocence and the experience is so enlightening.
"im not worried about the future cause you are the future" STOP IM GONNA CRY
I really love and respect that Gwen said she thinks kids today have it rough. We are so used to hearing "kids these days are so lazy and soft and have it so easy." It was very refreshing to actually hear an elder acknowledge there are unique challenges the new generations are facing
It was also very mature of the kids to say they recognize the elders probably had tough lives too
I feel like Gwen is somebody you can talk to for years on end, and still learn new things about her history or a new life lesson. I just love how much respect she shows her peers here. She poses great prompts for the group - kind of leading the conversation like a teacher would.
She exudes so much wisdom, I'd love to sit at her feet and just listen to her all day.
True omggg
Something about her is so warm. Like she has endless love to give. A very special person.
Her voice and manner are so warm and soothing. I would love to watch an hour-long interview with her!
The way Gwen said "Death is just a part of life" sounds so much like Forrest Gump's mum and I'm here for it!
Gwen is gorgeous!!!! I love her attire. And you gotta love Forest Gump's mom and how strong her character was.
What does death being part of life have to do with it being scary? There's no correlation with that answer. You can say that about anything that scares you. Being part of life does not mean it's not scary.

Im pleasantly surprised and in awe at how intelligent Neil is for his age , his parents are doing an excellent job raising him!
A lot of kids are intelligent. Adults just look down at them.
^ indeed. Just create a space where the kid can talk freely and is seen for their opinion and you'll see how smart they are
Kudos to Neil’s parents

My husband peripherally watched 2 minutes and said "where did they find these kids?" 👏🏾
I could listen to Neil and Gwen all day
My heart melted every time Jack hold out the chair for the ladies. That's more than chivalry, it's integrity.
Yes! I burst out in tears when he did that. It was like a lost Art being revealed.
I am amazed not many talked about it. It was soooo sweet!
the admiration that Gwen looks at Neil with is like a grandmother looking at her grandchild and idk, i just really like it
I cried at 6:10 when Jack "introduced" the love of his life. Isn't that everyone's wish?
totally - I started crying before already and at that point I was sobbing - this was all so wholesome. and I absolutely loved listening to all six of them.
that’s beautiful but absolutely not everyone’s wish! 😊
Nah, I want to be single forever and ever
It’s so wholesome
It's not. But in this case it's adorable.
Neil has lived many lifetimes. He might be a kid but hes definitely back from many past lifetimes. This was one of my favorites so far.
All the kids contributed extremely great insights. Neil’s on another level of expressing emotions and feelings. His parents, salute to you guys.
Neil is like a philosopher in a small persons body! He’s so intelligent and well spoken and thinks deeply about things!
This was one of my favourites. The innocence of these kids and the wisdom of these elderly individuals was just precious. I loved the way they listened to each other. So many people could learn from their example.
Hanging out with elderly people was my favourite thing to do as a kid. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet so many
I hope you'll have a separate episode of Neil. I love his perspectives. Wonder how he was raised. I'm 31 and I am learning from him. :)
Neil is wise beyond his years. This vid brought me to tears. The innocence of our youth and the wisdom of our elders are indispensable.
The way Gwen looks at the kids when they talk, especially Neil is so heart warming ! This video truly is wholesome.
Wow Neil is a very intelligent boy and he’s going to be known when he grows up. It’s sad that kids like him will be bullied but the intelligence and the politeness is there as a genuine human. The discrimination he will face because he’s not a Christian or white is sad to me because of just how well spoken he is.
FFS don't say this.
i dont think he will care, hes truly enlightened

Gwen speaks with what seems like a love and wisdom gained over a beautiful lifetime. I also loved how she spoke to the children as equals, as did all the others. But she particularly spoke to them at their conversational level, asked them questions in a thought provoking level on their level as well.
I guess you learn and realize that we are not so different than children.
Gwen is a goddess. Wish she were my grandma.
Gwen is a Queen Mother! She possesses what we call "Mother's Wit"! It Is loving wisdom and guidance rooted in truth with an undeniable warmth. ❤❤❤
Everybody’s talking about how smart Neil is but let’s give Jordana credit for investing her hypothetical million in stocks, starting a business, growing wealth, and helping less fortunate people.
No cause shes going to be a CEO one day. I trust her with my money.
I doubt at that age she actually knows what all of that mean… more like some ideologies she heard at home. She is definitely really thoughtful but you can tell she came from a rich(-er) family, so probably that explains it.
One is business savvy. The other has wisdom. Very big difference
She is very self aware though which is a useful tool for growth
I was more impressed by the fact she continued to walk to the chairs after realizing she was the only one going up.
Apparently Neil Parents has done a phenomenal job in Raising him. What a eloquent speaker and profound little guy.
When I was 9 I thought I was intelligent but this Neil kid takes it to the next level.... I've been in awe of him since he began to speak.

Everyone is praising Neil's parents.but I do think Neil is an inborn sensitive and intelligent boy.
Yes, there is that, but he also acts like a balanced kid whose parents talk with him regularly about the realities of life & don't just prop him up in front of the TV, expecting it to raise him.
He's got great conversational skills & speaks easily about tough topics as well as easy ones.
He's a Sigma male.
Neil seems as if this is his second or third time living. He is such a brilliant kid.

Jordana is that kind of person that people seem to underrate their intelligence. Her intelligence is understated.
If I was just reading a transcript I'd think Neil was one of the 90 year olds. He is way ahead for his age, or any age really. His parents are doing an amazing job.
No. They have so much more relaxed confidence.
It was so enjoyable to watch the young and the elderly sit down and have a conversation and share their experiences , their hopes, their fears with each other. I'm sure they all learned something from this, I know I did .

That was a major highlight for me. Admitting such thing that we all do. I really commend her for that
It also made me sad thinking, well you’re not a bad person for those thoughts hon. But it was a very nice take
Yes! She’s integrated shadow at a much earlier age than so many!

@@arduousPopsicle Exactly. Especially when she said she didn't act on those thoughts. It's okay to be mad, Jordana. Feeling angry does not make you a mean or bad person.
These children especially Neil, are so wise, wiser than their age. It's obvious Neil is a reader. I love them all❤
The thing is, is they really aren't. We just infantilize kids so much that when we see kids being smart, we automatically assume they're an exception to the rule. I'm not saying they're all typical of 9-year-olds, really just that this kind of intelligence/wisdom is not as uncommon in their age group as everyone assumes and expects.
@peterlewis2178 idk about that children in America often suprise ne how behind they are
I wouldn't say he's wise. Since he is just connecting a lot of information from his parents/books etc. he is definitely incredibly smart
My mom and I watched this video together and she said that Neil reminded her of me. I'm honored honestly.
@@pink.hibiscus_vlogs ,
If a 90 y/o is saying that their glad they're not a part of this generation despite everything they've been through? That should tell you something.....
IMHO. Not because it's too difficult today, but rather because they don't understand this new world.
Definitely not.
@@JarinCOD No, because they are contented in their own nature. People like YOU, perhaps fall on the group of ravenous and materialistic herd.
