    5:50 that's a TANTALUM capacitor. they are polarized and a common failure point.

    • @Dicofol1
      @Dicofol1 8 месяцев назад

      Why because of heat or mfg defect ?

      @@Dicofol1stress from voltage > 5V. It's a known thing. On old IBM PC restorations tantalums often blow up at first power-on and sparks fly.

    Hi Sorin, I hope you will find time in one of your future videos to explain how to identify main power rail. In your videos you just open the laptop and immediately check for shorted main power rail somewhere in the middle of the board. This is not clear to me and perhaps many of your viewers. It is obvious that main power rail will be on the first current resistor (the closest one to the charging port), but how do you know which is main power rail somewhere on the board?
    Thank you for all you're doing for the community.

    5:50 between the capacitors is a solder joint connecting two circuits. I find it odd that manufacturers still do this when none of them actually repair boards.

    I have one but on the left bottom corner of my laptop broke off when I accidently drop it. I also lost a screw on the top left that hold the bottom cover. I want to know what screw that I need to replace it. I'm scared to disamble my laptop to replace the covers and just want to get the screw. I just have a duck tape cover the small broken corner.
