  • If your Asus Laptop is not turning on, this tutorial will show you how to start troubleshooting for the cause. This video applies if your computer seems totally dead or has minimal signs of life including lights only or hard drive and fan sounds that start but then stop right away. Check out the FAQ's and Related Links below !!

    FAQ's:
    Q: Does this video apply to my issues?
    A: This video is for computers with no signs of life that appear 'dead'. It will also help if you see minimal signs of life such as lights only or some hard drive / fan sounds but they stop right a way. If you are able to see anything on the screen at any point or if the hard drive / fan sound remain on, your issue could be something else. Leave me a message with your exact symptoms and I can direct you to the correct video :)
    Q: I have tried all the steps seen here without identifying the issue :(
    A: If, after all these steps, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; • How To Test your Lapto... & • How to Fix Test Power ... . You can also try replacing other components like your Power Button to see if that is the route cause. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement.

    My laptop has an indicator light that turns on when I'm charging even if it's turned off. I noticed that that indicator light is not working. And my laptop won't turn on

    Hey! I have an ASUS ROG flow x16, model GV601V1-cs94. The other night it was working, then the next morning it wouldn’t turn on. When I’d plug it in the keys and power button would occasionally turn on, but after 2-3 seconds it would turn off. There may have been an update that went thru overnight, but I’m not 100% sure. I tried the options that were possible without opening the bottom (internal battery). Do you have any advice? I may possibly be able to get to the battery, but if I have to send it to ASUS I wouldn’t want them to charge me for tampering. Thank you so much for your help!

    Hey, my laptop suddenly died on me. Went away(while it was on battery), came back shortly after, and the screen was black; the indicators also didn't light on. I've tried everything so far. The battery indicator doesn't light up when plugged in not even when on battery. I tried both with/out the battery. Fans don't even spin, just nothing. I can't try another RAM, the other one I got has a different plug-in. The power diode just beeps but nothing happens. Is there any way you could help out?

    hey bud, how's it goin'... I'm having no power issue with TUF a17 2021.... Last time it was turned off there was a cellphone charging, and a wacom pen display was connected via hdmi ( hdmi plugs into radeon and not the rtx 3070 graphics ) I believe this combo produced the issue... anyways I tried removing the adapter , removing the battery, cleaing static charge... nadda... then a couple days later I did the same and it powered up and turned on just on battery... another issue appeared... when the laptop is closed and not turned off and you open the lid, sometimes it is impossible to enter pass.... this is how it booted this last time... i did a restart trough win...same thing couldn't input pass.. the I did a shutdown, and again no power issue... When I connect the charger the battery light is white = 100%.... I also tried removing RAM didnt help... Only thing I can think off is going to my friends garage and use the multimeter tool to measure the charge on ac adapter and on battery.... If you have any other suggestion ; I would appreciate it.... by the way this model doesnt have a coin cell battery to clear CMOS (spoke with ASUS).. have a good one....

      I see... It does happen often these days... And this laptop is new. It still charge when plugged. Maybe the battery is busted. Although.. speaking of charger, it comes with 2 type. Light (c-type 100w) and heavy (normal 220w). Maybe its because i constantly use the heavy one? Anyway thanks for responding

      If, after all these steps, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; ruclips.net/video/YBhsVHideGE/видео.html & ruclips.net/video/HpabvrNaodU/видео.html. You can also try replacing other components like your Power Button to see if that is the route cause. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement.

    Hello!! I have an ASUS ROG N53SV notebook. I play games a lot and the laptop often gets really hot. One time I was playing and went out for a bit with the game still on, but when i got back, the laptop wouldn’t turn on. So I went to a technician and he said that my motherboard got burnt or something so I'll be needing a new motherboard. But the laptop is of a really old model so its hard to get the motherboard. Can you help me in identifying what the actual problem is??

    • @PC_Monkey
      @PC_Monkey  24 дня назад

      If the computer was overheating and was not fixed, the motherboard, CPU, and other components would eventually die. If thats the case, then they would have to be replaced. Overheating has to be corrected asap and cannot be left until the computer stops working. By that time, the damage is done :(

    I have an Asus k52JT, I got it in 2009, I have removed the battery since 5 years ago and it doesn’t have battery at all. And 1 months ago, it didn’t turn on at all. Nothing on display, even not Asus logo. Only the power button led and numlock led is on. And also fan not work. And a few hours, again it started working normal. Now again, it happens, exactly the same problem(Nothing on display, even not Asus logo. Only the power button led and numlock led is on.). I also notice than, when I press the power button, the fan spin for a second, then stop. And after about 1 minute, fan spin in full speed. What do you think its problem?

    Hi PC monkey PLEASE HELP PLEASE my ASUS TUF A17 laptop started having problems last week after it was updated. When I tried restarting it it said it ran into a problem and then showed automatic repair. I don’t properly remember, but there was an option saying 'repair' (I don't remember). It said some recently downloaded files may be deleted, or some things. I pressed 'yes' as I didn’t install things recently. After that, my laptop turned on and problems started, like Wi-Fi disconnecting and not showing its icons sometimes. I wasn’t able to open anything in my files as it would show 'no such interface supported.' When I tried troubleshooting, it said 'this file does not have an app associated…'. An hour ago, my laptop froze, so I tried restarting with the power button. When I tried turning it on, it showed 'your PC ran into a problem,' and after that, it automatically went to automatic repair. Then it again went to 'your PC ran into a problem,' and then its screen just turned off. Then I thought I'll start it again, but I suddenly saw the charging light also turned off, and till now, it isn’t turning on. I am really in a problem. Please help me if you can. I have a lot of homework. I am really scared I REALLY NEED HELP🙏🙏

      @@itserfan0017 Just so you know, liquid spill situations can be hard to troubleshoot just one issue as multiple different components and boards including the motherboard itself, could all be faulty.
      After a liquid spill, you want to first make sure the computer is 100% dry. You would turn your computer off immediately by pressing and holding the power button until the computer turns off. Then you would disassemble the computer as much as your comfortable with, at least trying to remove the bottom case. Then you would turn it on its side and let dry for a couple days. Have you done this yet or are you sure the computer is dry?

      @PC_Monkey  14 часов назад

      I guess we all have an opinion. Some are educated and some are not. So let me educate you lol. Every model computer is different inside from other models, even in the same brand. This means that every Asus model will have the components in a different area inside the computer. It also means that entering a computer is will not be the exact same for different models. That being said, what would the actual difference be in using this Lenovo for the general tutorial vs a random Asus model for the general tutorial? In each case the viewer would still only have a general tutorial, and would have to figure out how to enter their specific model and access the components wherever they are inside. Hope that helps :)

    I've owned a G512LV-ES74 (Asus Rog Strix G15, 2020) for 3 years, and I recently opened up my laptop to clean the fans. After disconnecting the battery connector and fan connectors, cleaning the fans, and putting everything back, my laptop will not turn on. I've done it before (sometime in 2022), but this time, there is no signs of life at all. Charging indicator does not light up when plugged, rgb lights won't turn on, nothing. I don't know how to remove the battery (only disconnect the connector), so I haven't tried that method you mentioned. I'm thinking I did something wrong (maybe forgot to plug something or something else) but I don't know, as I've doubled checked and remember plugging in everything I unplugged. There was no update beforehand, no spills, no overheating, etc. It worked completely normal last night. Could a battery or charger really die all of a sudden in the morning when the previous night it was completely fine?

    • @PC_Monkey
      @PC_Monkey  10 месяцев назад

      In order to perform the power drain test, you only need to disconnect the battery from the motherboard. As long as its disconnected, plastically removing it is not needed :) If the computer worked before I enter it but does not work after, my first assumption is that I left something disconnected or loose. I ran out to see the fireworks!🎆 When I came back the laptop was dead except that it was very warm and the status indicator was blinking white/blue (turns red when charging - same lamp). To get it working again I pressed the power button for 10 seconds or so. Then I waited for the laptop to cool down. Then I could turn it on again! Thanks for the video! I used the Nvidia GFX. I don't have any tools to open , so I haven't tried. Also, I don't know what happened, initially I turned on, the screen went blank, so I shutdown and turned on again, then it worked and while using suddenly it stopped, and never turned on, and no light on power as well

    ASUS ???? this is Lenovo ThinkPad ... a well-known electronics expert on RUclips has an expression: "If it acts like a duck, looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, then it's definitely.... A DUCK"

    • @PC_Monkey
      @PC_Monkey  9 месяцев назад

      Not sure what a duck has to do with anything lol but ok... as stated in the video, the computer used to demonstrate the troubleshooting steps would be a Lenovo. Can you explain what would have been gained by using another brand computer to demonstrate the steps seen here?

    Holding the power button worked at first
    And each time I had to hold it longer
    To the time that it didn't turn on with holding the power button
    I disconnect a reconnected the battery
    That also worked once
    But not anymore
    now i don't know what to do
    I have a TUF A15

    • @PC_Monkey
      @PC_Monkey  2 месяца назад
