- Full HD version of Rick Springfield Jessie's Girl. New Years Eve 2010/2011. On the original broadcast the audio was out of sync with the video because the feed from the street delayed the video portion from the audio reaching the control room. They should have fixed that live...but I fixed it here. As you can see once you line it up he was not lip syncing.
This song never gets old. Rick you are still one of the most handsome guys in the world.

I saw this when it premiered. I remember thinking man Rick Springfield is still hot well into his sixties. And now he's well into his seventies and still has got it goin on. Oh wow...how did I miss this? 2011 was the worst year of my life. Lost my grandpa and dad and almost died from a brain stem stroke. If I had only watched this and prayed a lot more, maybe it would've been better!

You can hear a few things about this.
The most glaringly obvious is that Ricks guitar is not in the mix very often. Luckily there is a backing track and a second guitarist.
The other, also glaringly obvious, is the vocal mix is a blend of the original recording as a backing track, mixed with his current vocals. This creates a very pleasing blend of Youthful Rick with Senior Rick. It is very obvious at times, especially in the chorus. This is not a criticism, it merely is recognising that "it is what it is."
You're wrong. Listen to it again. There are several pauses where he just doesn't sing (cuz he's smiling or whatever) and it sounds too different from the original to have a backing track. (the tempo, flow of the song, etc.) And his guitar playing - You obviously have no idea that he's on another level with his guitar skills. He was lead guitarist in bands before hitting it big. Even in concerts today, he plays the guitar and sings live.

I just remembered I wanted to get myself a Gibson SG1 to play all greatest hits of Rick Springfield, I ended up buying my first drum kit. my Avatar is my drum kit and I plan to play all of Rick Springfield's songs that's after taking formal drum lessons. I was 21 when the song came out in 81' and it was so catchy. Rick was 31 at the time and too old to be with the hip crowd at the time. We all thought he was like an older version of Justin Bieber. I Bought all his cassettes at the time and He Has SOME Really Good Songs. Still good to this day. That was a great time for music. You had to actually Play and INstrument or Sing or have talent before they let you make an album. Rick
