Hello again and thank you for watching!
Here we have an approach and landing into Chicago O'Hare International Airport KORD during sunny but very chilly weather.
We approached the airport coming from the northeast on the WYNDE 2 RNAV arrival for an ILS to runway 28C.
Our Airbus A340-600 was almost fully booked and had a landing weight of 242 tons. It was windy and gusty at first but the wind became steady near the ground with just a bit of crosswind from the left.
Visibility was nearly endless ;-) and ground temperature was minus 22 degrees Celsius (-8 Fahrenheit).
Enjoy!

Thank you!
Videos like these have helped me cope with my irrational fear of flying. I've learned so much just by watching. So thank you.
Nice - I am glad that this helped you!
You found the perfect view and the camera quality really puts this on a whole new level🔝
The only thing I could think of is to improve the visibility of the pfd/nd but I don’t know how you could achieve it in the first few minutes of the video it’s quite bad to see but later it gets good I guess it just depends on the sun
Yes, I absolutely agree and that is what I would like to improve/adjust for you people to be able to see the instruments as well. But as you mentioned, this could be due to the sun being in front.
I will test this on another flight when we will have cloudy conditions... ;-)
Thanks so much! :-D
@@PapaPaddesun is tricky, low winter sun…
Awesome view! Nice video👍
One of the best Cockpit-Video Channels
Yay, thank you! Glad to hear that! :-D
And a340-600 one of the best aircraft, flew once with a Lufthansa to miami
That controller is incredible. Sounds like an auctioneer: fast, percussive, and clear.
Very beautiful flight, wonderful landing.
love the view hard to find on RUclips, nice video!
Back in my working days, I experienced that approach hundreds of times. Only had a problem one time. I was returning from Frankfurt, DE in an American 767. We were descending through a summer thunderstorm on final, when we took a lightning strike on the starboard wing. I happened to be looking out of the window and back toward the wing when it hit, resulting in a huge orange plasma ball. In less than 15 seconds, the captain made an announcement that all of his lights were green, and we were still a go for landing. We made it to our gate in the new Terminal 5 no problem, but the plane was then taken out of service to be thoroughly checked. Gotta love those June thunderstorms! They caused more trouble than most winter snow storms.
Awesome! I was a Captain on the A319-320 based at ORD for 15 years and the cockpit looks almost identical! The callouts were slightly different and we didn't have a camera view for taxiing on the PFD. Excellent job into ORD.....And remember NEVER stop unless they tell you, LOL;-)
:-D
Wie genial ist bitte dieses Video?
Videos like these and your channel will blow up in no time! Fantastic POV!
Thank you, appreciate your comment! :-)
A340-600 its my favorite plane WoW ❤❤
Mine too, nothing else comes close.
What a PRO!!!
Gotta be super recent. We live north of O'Hare and that's about the looks of the snow right now. And currently -1 out!
Beautiful video. Thx
Look up "Stablized Approach" and this video should come up. Great work flight crew!
What an awesome video!! I used to fly out of Chicago Executive just a little north of ORD and would always be in awe watching the big jets fly over me as I travel down the lake front in my little Cessna. Almost finished with my ATPLS hoping one day can land at ORD too! (BTW absolutely greased that landing 10/10)
Thank you - whishing you all the best! :-)
Appeared to be an extremely smooth landing too!
Thank you for showing this amazing bird in my city! I’m trying to save up to be able to fly this very flight this summer 🤞
Fantastic pov and fantastic airplane thank you very much
Greased it!
Amazing mate, nice one!! thanks for sharing
Thanks for your comment and glad that you like it!
Excellent video! With a little tweaking of the lighting I think your video quality will increase greatly. Looking forward to the next one!
Amazing!
Woah - the best Cockpit landing on RUclips. Great Camera, Plane…
At first I thought they were flying above a massive Cloud Bank. But it turned out to be a massive frozen lake that looks so surreal that it could have been something out of the Antarctic. What a cold and inhospitable place. I don't know how anybody could live there.
I flew into O'Hare exactly once in real IFR conditions in training. The approach was simple but abnormal. The tower advised us to "keep your speed up" because of an airliner behind us. Its approach speed was maybe 30 knots below our cruise speed so I had to fly fast, rather than sink slower down the glide slope. As soon as we touched down we were ordered to get the hell off the runway and took one of those angled taxiways to do so.
Fun!
amazing pov more of this please, also would be best if you had included headset comms
Great views once again Captain!
Thank you, appreciate it!
Such a great camera angle!
Take off and landings are my favourite part of flying, then I found out they are also the most dangerous lol.
Very cool video:)
@@britishgal1808-Sue Yes you are right. But though they are the most dangerous part they are still safe.
incredible
I want to be a pilot, I'm 15 years old, thanks for these videos
My pleasure! And all the best to you!
@@PapaPaddeThank You
Very nice!!! Thanks
Immer wieder eine Freude diese Videos zusehen! Vielen dank 🙏
Also I subscribed
I like when I’m on 294 and catch one right overhead landing.)
nice, mein Traum, werde warscheinlich nie die chance bekommen für nen A340 / A330 Type Rating.
WoW!!!!
Would this have been D-AIHT?
Nice that’s a cool airport. I’m sure taxiing takes a while though.
Oh, it sometimes does. Lots of traffic and so much to coordinate for the controllers!
It would be cool if you added the atc audio🙏
I will try to incorporate that.
Here we go again... 🤓
What airline is this?
Is there a big difference between the A346 and A333 in case of flying? Besides not to care about the ETOPS anymore haha
Haha, yes ETOPS being one of them! :-P Well, I would say the A330 is far more responsive than the A346, more like a heavy A321 whereas the A346 feels heavy and a bit sluggish at higher grossweights. Just like a heavy aircraft. I would not go so far as to compare it to a B747 - which feels way different, - but that is the direction I mean.
@@PapaPadde Danke Patrick!
My pleasure! :-)
Where were you flying in from?
At the 2:30 mark you can hear ATC tell Lufthansa 430 to turn right - so they are coming from Frankfurt.
This video was impossible to watch due to the constant camera movement.
Many thanks for your feedback. The intention was to give an impression of the exact pilot view but I can understand that it might have felt awkward to watch. I will keep that in mind. Cheers!
Typical foreign pilot laziness…using the autopilot during the whole approach in absolutely gorgeous visual conditions. Not surprising in the least. No wonder why none of the foreign pilots have any stick & rudder skills anymore. 🤦🏻♂️
Hm. The airplane is a Lufthansa A340-600 with the registration D-AIHT. Probably LH430 departing Frankfurt on Jan 13th or 14th. And the captain surely needs a permission of the company and the FAA to have something strapped on his head during a flight with hundreds of souls on board and publishing this video on YT while his flight can be easily identified. If not this could be a job-ending mishap and unprofessional as fkkk
You have a good point, sir. Thank you for your comment.
