    Hello again and thank you for watching!
    Here we have an approach and landing into Chicago O'Hare International Airport KORD during sunny but very chilly weather.
    We approached the airport coming from the northeast on the WYNDE 2 RNAV arrival for an ILS to runway 28C.
    It was windy and gusty at first but the wind became steady near the ground with just a bit of crosswind from the left.
    Visibility was nearly endless ;-) and ground temperature was minus 22 degrees Celsius (-8 Fahrenheit).
    This is an alternate take of the former video...

    I prefer the POV video if I may say. Maybe it was the first video on RUclips with the POV of a captain hand-flying an A340-600. Regardless, I hope you still upload your flights frequently.

    Sehr schön. Hast du nicht diese Landung schonmal mit der anderen POV hochgeladen? Ich fand die andere besser wenn ich ehrlich bin. Trotzdem cool zu sehen

      Ja, das hatte ich in der Tat, war mit dem Ergebnis auch recht zufrieden - wie wohl die Zuschauer auch - aber aufgrund einiger seltsamer Kommentare habe ich mich dazu entschlossen, das Video erstmal zu sperren und neu zu bearbeiten, um es später wieder online zu stellen. Tut mir leid! ;-)

      Schade, aber aufjedenfall verständlich. Finde die POV Videos immer am besten weil man dann den Blick vom Piloten hat. Werde mich nachdem ich mein Abitur habe bei der EFA bewerben also bieten mir deine Videos schonmal einen Vorgeschmack. Dankeschön. Und eine Frage. Fliegst du auch gleichzeitig a330 oder bist du nur auf der 340 unterwegs? @@PapaPadde

    excuse me, what is ur operators reasoning with always flying with A/THR off during approach?

      Our company's policy has always been 'manual flight - manual thrust (or throttle)'. When the A340 was introduced into the fleet, this changed as Airbus' philosophy wanted pilots to rely on the auto thrust, even in manual flight and there are many operators around the world that are doing this.
      It might have advantages but studies conducted by our safety department showed that - at least for us - there are good reasons to use manual thrust in manual flight, so we went back, even on the A340.
      This also might have something to do with the structure of the initial training and the fact that we used to have more conventional aircraft in our fleet, so this was good for standardization, at least.
