From one dad to another, thanks for posting these videos. I enjoy air travel, though economy might suck, but it's still an amazing experience and a privilege to be flown by professionals like you.
as someone who has an absolute fear of flying, these videos are not only stunning to look at but extremely comforting and seeing the cockpit and what y'all do helps alot, thank you :)
Very nice video, thank you. If I may suggest , the cockpit camera does not add much to the video as we cannot see the instruments. Perhaps you could position the camera to look directly at the flight display? Additionally, it would be very informative if you could patch the second camera audio into the radio to record the tower air traffic. Thanks again for the video, I landed there many times in the distant past.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I am constantly experimenting with camera positioning, so any suggestion is more than welcome. I will try this out - cheers!
At around 13:45 there's what looks like a massive shark just over your instrument panel. And it's keeping up with the plane right until you second last turn for the final approach 45 seconds later 😮
Surprised to see CRT displays, I had thought they were all replaced. Thanks for the video. By the way, I’m a happy customer of your airline - flown dozens of times from USA to Asia. It’s good to see a cockpit video.
Many thanks for your comment and I am surely thankful that you are a satisfied customer! Always welcome! :-) As far as I know, there was a retrofit to replace the CRTs available but it was originally planned to put the A340-300 out of service and replace it with newer aircraft much earlier than they are planning to do now. So my guess is that it was just not worth the cost. There are TFTs in the A340-600 and A330 but the A340-300s that we a have still have the classic CRTs.
Great video, superb landing, love the long approach over the coast. North west was blowing, rainy day. Is this the A340 operated by Lufthansa, or the SAA one being brought out of retirement? Oh and ofcourse, my home city!
Thanks for the feedback! I agree that would be a nice addition but I do not want to use more technical gadgets than the camera, so I have to sacrifice sound quality. Sorry!
This might be wrong but!! I Flew to cape town around 2 monthts ago so you may or may not of been my pilot lol!! This is probably a coincidance but who knows? Lol!
Whaaaaaaat! Absolutely butter!!!!!

@PapaPadde especially this time of the year. The first time tourists must love flying over the city

Woulda been nice to see the plane you flew, a nice thumbnail at the end 🎉
That was the best congrats guys♥️
This must be one of the best CPT landing videos I've seen of many. Keep up the good work.

Great video boet. I just landed in CT and was wondering about which approaches we taken and it’s cool to see this one! Awesome landing too!
I Liked for that double butter with some extra butter landing. Also awesome view, thanks for sharing.
I can see my home as you flew past.❤❤❤
Awesome video, keep up the good work.
That is awesome!
Beautiful approach! Thanks for the ATC on speaker as well!
Such a calm approach over those mountains and beautifully smooth landing. Welcome to Cape Town :) Hope you enjoyed your stay
Thank you!
Always a pleasure being there - I absolutely enjoyed it! 🤩
Very nice approach!
Thank you! :-)
What was shown as Somerset West was actually the Strand. Somerset west is to the left on the video.
Ah ok, many thanks for setting this right!
Tried to be as precise as possible without being too familiar with the area…apologies…☺️

Great video! Only improvement I can think of is being able to hear ATC properly
Thanks for the feedback!

Very nice!
I hope you requested a scenic departure around the peninsula above 5000ft
Th only problem is when you fly over khayalitsa the zink reflects the crap outa you on a summersday😂😂

That would have been a very nice coincidence, indeed! :-D
@@PapaPadde : -D Hope so!!
A343 is the perfect fit for High Elevation Airports! The thrust decay is minor compared to the others
Airline?
Where curve?
What do you mean?
@PapaPadde the curvature of the earth
You cannot see it at this low of an altitude...
