I think I am going to go out and find me an old 4 cylinder Nissan Diesel engine now...I just cannot believe my eyes and ears on this one. To come so far from where it started off as and run with no oil or water all while leaking diesel like a siv. I myself have been a mechanic for 20 years...I simply do not have this man's magical talent. 😂

Thank you very much. Most mechanic workshops do not have this experience. Rather, they only replace parts, and most of the time they are not really the cause of the problem. Thank you, great work.
And he did not disappoint. I’m impressed with the techniques in removing rusty bolts. I’ve repaired a water damaged engine before but this takes it to a whole new level. The amount of the old engine you were able to re-use is staggering. Electrolysis is another way of removing rust. Well done.

To say that was amazing is an understatement, the amount of work that you must have put in to get that engine running must have been very long. You are an incredibly talented and knowledgeable man.
@@damiann4734 There are a lot of videos on YT showing how they fake, this type is called a "mild fakes" as opposed too "strong fakes". Lets be honest, to call this a restoration is extremely misleading.
I was amazed that they could fix the engine in such a miserable condition and get it running. And I was even more surprised that the engine was a Nissan engine. Thank you for this wonderful video full of surprises.

My God, it's like a brand new NISSAN made in Japan motor for FREE, just add time and experience. You're a legend.
ТНВД, топливные дизельные форсунки.... это... невероятно!!!!! Когда я увидел что он привез, первая мысля была... С ним как с археологической находкой, сканировать, варить и отливать все заново. Ну или как минимум, прожигать в камере, проваривать в кислоте, после этого промывать высоким давлением. И только после этого осматривать, дефектовать и ~70%-90% изготавливать или заказывать зч с нуля. У нас на предприятии, валяется 2-а огромных дизель-двигателя от ЖД (под открытым небом гниют уже более 10-ти лет, только при мне) и куча всего по мелочи. Места занимают, ни как время не доходит все это как-то разломать и выкинуть на свалку. Цена вывоза этого мусора практически сопоставима с ценой, сколько выручим за это гнилье... А сделать такое восстановление с минимальным набором инструментов практически на коленке... Фантастика.

The hard work was definitely very real, the piston he replaced was unavoidable and with a few more parts to get the oiling system working again it could no doubt be run for long periods but I don't think that was the point, I think the point was to get it to run again and that he did. I thought it was very cool and entertaining to watch, I especially liked the bit with the old bloke making the head gasket.

This guy loves machines and exploring ways to rehab the seemingly impossible! Fabricating his owner head gasket alone is impressive! I wonder how the engine is to be later put to use.
It looks like the head gasket was fabricated by another person. You can tell by the more “seasoned” hands, that this is a more experienced professional. Still the whole restoration process was very impressive, it was awesome to watch!

It was an extreme gamble with the cylinder bore and bearing surfaces, but his machining skills made the difference👍

As a german mechanic, i can say chapeau buddy - u did very well
awesome! but, you should of just replaced the timing belt, sprockets, and idlers with new ones. i'm sure there are aftermarket parts for that engine.

It looks like the head gasket was fabricated by another person. You can tell by the more “seasoned” hands, that this is a more experienced professional. Still the whole restoration process was very impressive, it was awesome to watch!
