@@AdonaiNate You misunderstood. I have a 2016 Nissan Altima with the “bad” CVT. 100,000 miles and just passed down to my kid. I have a new Camry now as my everyday driver. I have a 2016 Colorado that I was thinking of replacing but.. I don’t want turbo, auto start/stop, cylinder deactivation…. Or full size. But I might jump at titan before they’re gone. The “idiots” I was referring to are the truck buyers that turned their noses up at Nissans because they think they are junk (read some of these comments). I think they are the last “real” truck on the market. And if you pass on it for a four cylinder Chevy you’re an idiot.

One guy said it was a device hooked to the battery the size of a pack of cigarettes! As I said, Idk yet, but it'll come off one way or another. Have y'all ever been in a Frontier at night? I've had minimal maintenance issues, no rust (southwest Ohio), comfortable , roomy and you can hang meat in the cab when the air conditioner on. My favorite thing is the engine. Sweet sounding, plenty of power and I like the way it looks. My least favorite thing is the gas gauge. Man is she thirsty. I realize that it goes with the territory but 14.5 mpg is hard to get used to after driving my 38-40 mpg Versa. I bought a 2017 Titan SL 4X4 (bought it in May of 18). Today (Sept of 2024) it has 172,241 miles on it. The original brake linings (pads) are 50% worn (according to Les Schwab). The only thing that ever went wrong is that the starter needed replacement (last year). I simply don't believe that a truck (any truck) was meant to be a tech show piece. If you have a supposed "work truck," yet aren't getting your hands dirty, at least once in a while. Then you've lost the meaning of what a work truck is.

Now the reason it never caught on. Nissan never promoted the truck. It was like, the other car companies had one so we needed one too. I honestly think the Frontier is their bread and butter truck and I think they wanted folks to come in to look at the Titan in order to push them into the smaller Frontier. I had the first year of the Titan came out 2004. The only real problem with small breaks that came from the frontier but they upgraded of them later for free putting in much bigger brakes that all the rest of them had after that. The engine was made in America, the frame was made in America, the axles are Dana made in America, the body is made in America, only some of the small parts the electronic package in the transmission were made in Japan. I believe it's the same is true for the current one and at this price point if they decided not to discontinue the Titan they would just kill it in the market especially with the problems the Toyotas are having the problem that ram is having teetering on collapse GM and Ford trucks being made in Mexico and Canada and astronomically overpriced!

The fact they canceled the only v8 truck that had no afm or epa bs is just sad. I don't have a brand preference, but for a modern truck, nissan is the only pickup I'd choose. Friend of mine has a 2014 nissan titan with 289k miles. The only problem he's had is exhaust manifold, but that's it.

Bought a Titian XD Pro-4X on Monday (6/17).
First Titan I've ever purchased; have owned Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Ram, and Toyota in the past.
What got me in the door to look and eventually buy: $10K off a $68K fully loaded truck (everyone else was starting at $70K+ for same features), and 0% for 60 months.... haven't seen 0% in I don't even know how many years. Also, since used car prices are still relatively high, was able to get $30K on trade-in (2019 LT Trailboss).
It's beyond ridiculous to purchase a truck for $70 -$80K and add 9% + interest rate on top of it.... other manufactures can kiss my ass.

2021 SV with 71000 miles here. Towed an RV all over the US and Canada. No issues, no complaints. My RAM die hard father in law just bought a Pro4X based on how great my truck has been and he loves it - coming off a Ram 1500 Longhorn. AND Nissan has a 2025 model on their website - they keep saying last year, then they do another year. I'll but another one at 200K which I will reach in a few years.

The truck needed better marketing and it was over due for a full redoe. The truck is largely the same as it was in 2004 with only the front clip being updated for the most part. The cab is exactly the same with that swept back minivan windshield, didn't really fit the updated front clip when they went to the boxier looking front end.

Bought a new 2023 Pro4X XD to replace my 09 Frontier with almost 220K trouble free miles. Best value truck and I shopped them all. What I got for my money I would have easily had to spend 10 to 15K more on a similar big 3 pickup and the Tundra? It was also in that boat. The NA engine without all the emissions, cylinder deactivation, auto start stop stuff that breaks sooner or later makes it bullet proof. The transmission has had all the issues worked out and is flawless. The infotainment screen may not be as big as the other trucks but it is big enough. The things that should be controlled by buttons and knobs are there and you don't need to hunt and peck through a bunch of menus and screens to find them. Also, don't forget the 100K mile, 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. Folks complain about the mpg but I have gotten just under 20mpg (19.1) on the highway, driving through Idaho at 85MPH+. You can get the new twin turbo stuff and get 2-3 mpg more but I'm sure those engines won't be as trouble free as the 5.6. Had mine since December and have 18K miles and I'm happy with my purchase. If it's as reliable as my Frontier this will be the last truck I buy. Snatch one up before they are gone or buy a low mileage used one and save even more, you won't regret it.

Wherever I drive, I always see a Titan here in Florida. Those numbers have to be wrong As consumers, it affects us. Because we don't have anywhere else to select a truck and now Toyota with the engine problems is only the Ford, Chevy and Ram in a half ton truck. I hope Nissan takes it back and makes it again. It's a good truck. It does the job and that's what matters and that it does. our easy work without complications😂

US built, just spent a bunch of money on the redesign. I think a little overpriced and the car and crossover reputation is hurting the truck and body on frame SUV reputation. Since the merger 25 years ago the quality and reliability declined on almost everything with each new vehicle generation since 1999 with the exception of the GTR/Skyline and the Z cars.

Nissan never marketed it, which is why they didn't sell. They intentionally wanted sales lower to avoid EPA fees. As for reputation, there cars have kept that low. The sedans are associated with cheap, unreliable and entry level. And the horrible reputation of the CVT in most of their vehicles doesn't help.

I have 230K miles on my first gen 08 Titan . The VK56 V8 is the best engine ever put in a full sized truck. If I was in the market I'd buy a 2020-2024 Titan without question. I can't remember the last time I saw a Nissan Titan commercial. They could have used me because I could easily point out things my truck had that the other big 3 didn't. I was even a die hard Ford person until I had to lemon law a 06 F150 because it went through 5 transmissions in 27K miles. I switched to the Titan and still have it, because it's still fun to drive. It's not my daily driver anymore, but does everything I need it to do. I absolutely hate my 2020 Ford F150 company truck especially the infotainment system that you need to reboot on every trip. My dad has a 2020 Titan and he loves his and when we went on a cross country trip no issues at all with the infotainment system oh and on that trip it got 20mpg hwy out of a crew cab 4x4.

Nissan never really marketed the Titan properly. I don't think I've ever seen a TV commercial for the Titans. Not sure where they do any advertising at all. They should be running ads targeted right at the kind of people who liked the previous generation Tundras (like me). If I wasn't driving past a Nissan dealer every day, I may never have thought to look at a Titan. I bought a '23 Pro 4X and am happy with it, but I discovered the truck DESPITE a complete lack of marketing effort from Nissan.
