Thor just seems like a disgruntled combat veteran who fell into severe alcoholism due the genocide of the giants he exterminated in the name of the All-Father.
Makes sense. He killed his own kind. He probably has a lot of self hatred for selling himself to the Allfather like that and for being a god who had giants blood in him.
6:21 I love this bit where we see Ingrid and Mjolnir having their very own duel, dunno why, it's like it makes them so much more than just weapons and seem alive, add Mjolnir's flashy blue light and Ingrid's bright golden glow, it's badass, looks cool, and cute
Something similar happens during the first fight with Kratos and Thor. The weapons both (seemingly) stare each other down after they first clashed and neither gaining the upper hand on the other. It's almost as if they have a type of memory of their own and realize they cannot overpower the other. Ingrid is another one of these "smart weapons" it seems. In fact, the more I think about it, that seems plausible as the Dwarves can infuse souls into items such as Invari's ring.
This fight was so damn fun. Mostly because it has a different tone to all the other fights that are serious with booming music but this one was more light hearted chaos.
10:26 Its funny when you hear the screaming from inside, after an awkward moment, Mjolnir just bursts through the wall and flops over as if Drunk as well.
My favorite part is at 4:50 where Ingrid sticks some dude to a wall knocking the ale out of Thors' hand followed by him doing a goofy ass drunk stumble after catching Mjolnir. The whole part had me rolling 🤣
Mine is when Thrud punched that Einherjar and ran off in a random direction, while Atreus was punching him in the face, I was watching Thor in the background beating the hell out of two other Einherjar. Also the scene when Mjolnir and Ingrid were going at it.
Same, and laughed again at 10:32 when Mjolnir lurched through the wall (accidentally smacking Thor in the back of the hand in the process, which made me wince and which Thor clearly felt!) and then plopped onto the ground as if it had had a bit too much fun itself :D
I liked the part when Mjolnir and Ingrid stalemated for a few seconds and then Ingrid went back into standby while Mjolnir sped off in another direction.
I was actually relating to Thor in this game. I really wanted to see a redemption from him. He was broken, drunk, mourning his sons and brother. He was so far gone in the path the All Father made for him that he couldn't see a way out. "No thinking " was his motto.
Its more sad that Odin molded him into a mindless killing machine rather than actually raising him as his son. Thor keeps telling Atreus to "stop thinking" and we can see where he got that from
I think by defying Odin, he may not have redeemed himself, but he showed that he wanted to. But there was just no chance Odin would let Thor live after turning on him, so we never got to see it play out
Marvel thor and norse myth thor are VERY different, if the mcu wanted to stay true to the comics, then they would write thor as a "great hero" character, but if your talking about fat thor in endgame, i agree, he should've been something like this
I love the bar fight scene of this game. You know why? Because unlike most bar fight scenes in other games or shows, you actually get to see the whole fight scene here, instead of focusing on other characters reacting to the fight scene for the sake of comedy.
This whole fight scene is great, but what I love most is seeing Atreus standing up for himself. To Thor, and to the Einherjar. It's nice to see him growing up.
Real talk, how heavy is Thor though? Cause if thrud cab move giant blocks if stone and other things, but can barely lift her father, then he's gotta be like the thing where most strongman are fat, but extremely strong.
Warboys were this children "rescued" and indocrinated by Joe to follow him blindly with the promise of Valhala. Einherjar doesn't seem so different really and I suspect that the inspiration is real.
I accept that interpretation too because it makes his reclusiveness darker. Imagine how twisted up he was if he was asked to stop going to the bars because he kept getting into drunken fights. I have to imagine that one fight got so bad that only Korg was able to pull him off the person he was beating into the ground and Valkyrie had to give him an ultimatum to get drunk at home.
LET IT BE KNOWN THAT THE GOD OF THUNDER IS KNOWN FOR TWO THINGS, KILLING GIANTS, AND PISSING MEAD!!!!!! ANY MAN THAT DISAGREES IS GONNA GET A TASTE OF MJOLNIR. 🤣🤣🤣 THAT WAS THE FUCKING DOPEST LINE EVER!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anyone else feel bad for the bouncer that got his skull demolished for trying to stop Loki from continuing with fighting the other patrons? He was just trying to do his job!
4:50 - 5:02 those 12 seconds had me rolling on the floor laughing.. from the dude randomly getting slammed against the wall, Thor catching Mjölnir and doing a classic drunk stumble, then saying "thinking too muuuuuuch." To then the random guy just absolutely yeeting himself into our BOY completely out of the blue. I swear to god! 🤣🤣🤣
Kratos never drinks, and Thor is a huge guy who clearly goes heavy whenever he drinks. Based off of that alone I'd say Thor would probably last longer but who knows
I like the father like son moment when Atreus called Odin’s raven “bird” just like how Kratos names you based on you’re physical appearance like “dwarf” or “head” and when Atreus held the man down to repeatedly punch the guy reminds me of when Kratos held down Baldur and started beating the shit outta of him 😂😂😂
The only thing I think that would of made this moment better was if they had some kind bar fight music playing in the background, something like an Irish gig or to that effect

great catch !!!
also when thor attacks artreus
ingrid covers artreus
it’s so sweet
How the hell is she able to keep up?
I know right, never thought Ingrid would hold her own against Mjolnir , Freyr really did a good job on the sword

I never even noticed that in my play through lol
Saddest part about this was I think Thor was genuinely starting to like Loki and was about to break away from Odin.
I don’t know if you noticed but the first time Thor tell Atreus quiet is when Atreus mentions the Allfather
@@matthewgabriele206 You are right Thor is angry with Odin and he is the only one who was able to confront Odin but Thor loves his father
This fight was so damn fun. Mostly because it has a different tone to all the other fights that are serious with booming music but this one was more light hearted chaos.
Because this is a Bar Fight
The Gryla boss battle was also unique, but this was more fun and seeing the weapons acting of their own accord was spectacular.
sadly it seems some one removed the music for some unknown reason.
6:21. It's kinda cool seeing Ingrid and Mjölnir have a own little battle. It's kinda funny seeing 2 weapons fight each other. Cool little detail
I love how gleefully he says "pissing Mead"
Gleefully? he sounds straight depressed
I love how when Thrud tackles someone Thor is in the background saying “YEAH!”
He's drunkenly proud of his baby girl. It's kind of cute, which is very needed :D
Proud father
That was such a subtle and yet awesome addition. Any Father would be so proud of their kid for standing their ground.
10:26 Its funny when you hear the screaming from inside, after an awkward moment, Mjolnir just bursts through the wall and flops over as if Drunk as well.
It's funnier how Ingrid was motioning "shaking her head" at Atreus as if she's irritated, and then turns away when Mjolnir slams through the wall.
@@EmmaSpiritcaller I hated playing as Atreus outside of Asgard because of Ingrid. I felt more like "boy of war" when she was available.
I realize that at 3:20, Atreus got triggered by not just Thor being rude, but by being called boy… because his dad does that lol!
It ain't a Loki and Thor adventure without a bar fight
I love how throughout all the chaos nobody seems to notice the 2 magical weapons fighting each other in mid air 😂
Kratos: boy, what has happened? And what is he doing in our home??
Atreus: we drank, we fought, he made his ancestors proud!
I see what you did there
Atreus: He also called me “Boy”
Kratos: HE DID WHAT NOW?!

I was surprised to see the Einherjar trying to attack Thor.
5:45 I fell in love with this bar room brawl when our boy tackled that man and gave his face the business with his bare hands.
Reminds me of Kratos on Zeus. #fatherlikeson
@Lamar Isaac I'm so proud of our boy. Also, how the hell did that man take a hit from Thrud and then our boi beating his face in?
Tackle and face punches, Atreus obviously played RE5.

The einherjar( warriors who die in battle and resurrected to keep fighting for the all father) loom like the war boys in Mad Max fury road.
I have a feeling the concept art team behind had that in mind when designing them
Warboys were this children "rescued" and indocrinated by Joe to follow him blindly with the promise of Valhala. Einherjar doesn't seem so different really and I suspect that the inspiration is real.
I’ll just accept that this is what Thor was up to in New Asgard during the 5 years after Thanos’ snap

That title is pretty much Thor in a nutshell
I love seeing Ingrid and Thor's hammer fighting in the background
The little fight at 5:50...an incredible Kratos & Zeus reference LOL
Atreus going 'HOW are you still conscious!' after beating the crap out of a dude is gold.

As someone growing up with this problem in their life, it's really depressing to watch from this angle
So nobody gonna talk about ingrid vs mjnir
Now all we need is someone screaming LENNY!

Thor: Aw shit wrong weapon
My favorite part was when thor charged while yelling thinking too much

On of the best moment of the game. Really felt like I was in a kingsman movie
Loki: Wait, why's Thor still got his Hammer with him?
Thrud: Who's gonna take it from him?
My favorite part is a tie between the background screaming at the end and when Loki says HOW ARE YOU STILL CONCIENCE
Imagine Kratos is in this
Then no need for Ragnarok. The whole of Asgard goes down with them.
He's probably gonna be telling some stories as a Spartan Warrior. Just whatever happens in Valhalla.
Now I wanna see drinking contest thor vs kratos
Kratos never drinks, and Thor is a huge guy who clearly goes heavy whenever he drinks. Based off of that alone I'd say Thor would probably last longer but who knows
He drinks wine, good for the heart of an old man 😁
With the bar fight all I could hear in my head is twin horn pipes play in the background
2 minutes of talking with his wife and the final fight would be 5v1 with Thor joining the gang
This game made Thor one of my favourite gods.
Boy is just as short tempered as Kratos, one "boy" word and a little push was enough to make him rage XD
The attention to detail is great, when the einherjar throws Atreus' quiver Thor glances at it as it fly's by
Thought that they were going to use "get help"
6:23 greatest fight
Sword vs Hammer
I guess they only let Thor in with weapons.
Well I mean he is the God of Thunder after all
Something tells me they tried that once and swore never to do it again.
Ingrid and mjolnir fighting was the funniest shit I've ever seen that was complete gold from santa monica

Wait does Thor not stop for the fear that he can't stop Odin? And if he ever did his daughter would be forced to become him?
In a way yes but also it's because he has self loathing for all he did and thinks he can't change.
Hes basically kratos without the discipline
I would pay for a Ingrid vs Mjolnir Movie :D
Welp. I guess odin is going to pay for damages on the bar with thor's salary.
This is giving free bird vibes
Since the first time i heard Odin talk shit to him and treat him like trash without retaliation, i knew this man was depressed
