RUMINATIONS: And here's where we really start having fun. Most people genuinely did not see the twist coming and did post some concerned remarks about me having burnt my hands until the very end. Other people realized, "Wait... if his hands were burned, he wouldn't be wearing gloves like that." A lot of the insults at the end by Mechakara were taken directly from troll comments that had been made, like calling my fans sycophants.
While I don't always succeed, I prefer three-parters at least have some kind of storyline element to them to justify spending three weeks on a single subject. It can get especially boring after a while to have to hear about the same comic and its problems over and over and over. Truly great material is in comics that have whole new dumb things happening within them, but those are few and far between. Fortunately, the theme of robot duplicates fit in perfectly for the storyline, which doesn't happen all that often. If I have one complaint about my own storylines it's that there's not often synergy in the reviews with the story segments. The storylines and reviews are meant to compliment each other and that should be stronger than it is.

In the main Marvel universe, overcoming alcoholism is a more important part of Stark's character than being an alcoholic, a point which the awful Flanderized version in the Ultimate universe misses completely. Not that that's even close to being the most fucked up thing about this comic.
Looked it up; it was retconned after Ultimatum that Valkryrie got her powers from Loki. And now we know.
And knowing makes it more confusing.

It wasn't Hawkeye's fault that Quicksilver died in Age of Ultron!

This episode really is a testament to Lewis's acting skills. To the uninitiated, it sounds exactly like any other scathing remark that Linkara would make and yet hindsight allows one to see exactly where Mechakara's true self comes through.

It's quite ironic how in Age of Ultron, Quicksilver died to save Hawkeye, while in this series, Quicksilver is killed by Hawkeye.

During the review, you can tell it's not Linkara.
***** There are a few points where my voice gets deeper and more serious, particularly when Mechakara is criticizing the robots' plans.
reuisu Okay, I *have* to ask-- did you practice that evil Mechakara laugh before you filmed it (much like Mark Hamill religiously practiced, to get JUST right, his now-infamous laugh as the DCAU Joker)? Because I gotta say, that laugh was *creepy as HELL*, even *BEFORE* you added the mechanical flanging effect to it (which only made it *worse*). Mechakara gives the flat-out most *evil* laugh out of all the AT4W villains; the Entity's may be *creepier*, but you get more of a sense of *utter insanity* from it than you do pure malice (for the Entity, THAT comes from elsewhere). Vyce *never* laughed, so he doesn't count (and not that that is a BAD thing, mind; given Vyce's character, it wouldn't fit him to do so). Mechakara though? That laugh, without him so much as saying a *word*, conveys that he is absolutely *delighted* that he's finally revealed himself to Linkara (despite Linkara disrupting his plans by walking in before Mechakara could finish his vitriolic rant against Linkara's fans), and that he is going to *enjoy* what comes next, and that whatever it is, it is *NOT* going to be pleasant. Was that *intentional* on your part, or am I just reading too much into this? I am *very* curious to know.

Paul Decker Haven't rewatched it myself, but I suspect that was more me using youtube's audio removal software at the time and that screwed with the audio.

I just realize some thing weird with Linkaras own story, mainly his cast of characters.
Every character looks like him just in different clothes ( I know its because he is every character, im not stupid. ) but he never reacts to it and sees them as completely different people, now that wouldn't be weird until this episode where he does react to a new character that looks exactly like him.
It just makes me think that if 90's kid or Dr.Linsano put on his clothes one day that he would come home and just be like "Oh god, more mecha linkaras!" and start shooting the place up with his magic gun or something.

Well, Linksano IS an alternate universe version of him.
There are also subtle differences between Linkara and others like 90s Kid and Harvey Finevoice aside from voice and clothing, mainly their mannerisms in how they naturally walk and act.

I know it's revealed in ultimatum that Quicksilver planned to fake his death to drive Magneto crazy (because of course) but even given that, jumping in front of a METAL bullet to save MAGNETO is the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Every time I see this ending, even knowing about the twist, it still gives me chills! The music, Linkara and Mechakara finally meeting face-to-face, Mechakara's sinister metallic laugh, literally everything about this cliffhanger is just flat-out epic!
Ironic how Pietro later takes a bullet for Clint in Age of Ultron after taking an arrow from Clint.

"And why did he look like venom." As little sense as it makes, to follow up a plot point from the 2005 Ultimate Spider-Man game, where Doctor Doom has an agent hunting Venom for undisclosed reasons, the story was adapted into the comics years later. I'm guessing they included him in here as sort of foreshadowing to Doom's involvement. The explanation is torn apart when they say Venom is a robot but there you go, that's what I pieced together. Still don't know why he basically threw Venom at the Avenger's mansion.

From what I've heard, Ultimate Magneto is very crazy, even implying he's s fucking cannibal, so maybe I'm crazy, but him screaming like that and everything when Quicksilver dies, implying he has feelings when he's a fucking psychopath, is really off-putting and kind of unbelievable.

Cannibalism used to be the ultimate taboo in fiction, a line that once you crossed, you set the tone for the entire setting. It could be used for effective horror or to show how uncaring people can be. It has been pretty overused for shock value ever since though, and is now mostly a sign of 'dark and edgy' writing.
Hey writers, there are metals that we build with that aren't ferromagnetic at room temperatures. Otherwise moving large magnets around would be a lot more complicated than it is. BTW it took me a little under 10 minutes to research this.
Really cool twist you pulled here. I must admit, I don't follow your review story very closely but when I do see it its very entertaining and it makes me want to look back at your older reviews..

if i had seen this review when it came out i doubt i would have realized is Mechakara (even tho you see his robot hand in Countdown..i think)
but now i know there is a mechakara i can kinda see it coming when the plot of the reviewed comic involves robot duplicates that get drunk, still a cool twist
funny story when I first started watching the show this was the first episode I saw with a storyline bit so when mechakara started the insulting I was so very confused
You left out a few questions: if killing Wanda was "A crime of passion" as Ultrojacket claims, why did he have a bullet made SPECIFICALLY TO KILL HER on him? And more importantly WHY DID QUIKSILVER TAKE A BULLET FOR MAGNETO, WHEN MAGNETO HAS A PRETTY CLEAR TRACK RECORD ON STOPPING BULLETS.
That was an arrow

Something I just noticed: in Valkyrie’s dream, the mysterious figure (who is later revealed to be Loki) tells her to “slay your enemies.” I wonder if that was a coincidence, a red herring, or if it was originally planned that the figure was supposed to be The Beyonder.

ColeVecsion Poorly may be one thing, but I gotta be honest, he can make an idea work well... almost *too* well that could make the most hardcore fan of violence feeling VERY uneasy. Take two of his most heinous works like Nemesis and the Unfunnies. Nemesis: Take Batman and make him a villain, but ramp it up to having him artificially impregnating a cop's daughter with the brother's semen... and shove a bomb in her womb to avoid any plans for abortion... Not kidding.
And the Unfunnies: Take the Nelvana/Hanna-Barbera cartoons and put them in doing murder, sex, swearing. Not bad enough? Our "Protagonist" is a pedophile/serial killer who gets out of death row by using occult magic to switch places with the cartoons in his comic strips a la COOLWORLD. The Killer wins with a newborn baby and walking toward the sunset while ALL the cartoons are subjected to be killed, maimed, raped and executed by the real world...
WELL... at least the villain in Nemesis died by the President blowing himself up with him.
The Funny thing was that Mark Millar's wife threw his book (The Unfunnies) right in is face, told him that was the worst thing she read... no, *experienced*, and it came from his husband that could've had such... awful thoughts. Mark's reply: "I tried to explain that the crow was sucking cock for a REASON, but it actually does sound kind of creepy saying it out loud."

6:10 is basically how I felt about all the unexplained plot points in episode 7 like how Ray isn't a Jedi, then figures out she has the force and is somehow so good at it, she force mind tricks a stormtroooer and defeats a powerfully trained sith. Darth Vader mask appearing on the giant deathstar planet, and Darth Vader lightsaber that fell down a chute in cloud city just so happens to be found. Hopefully 8 isnt an episode 5 remake, but, with how the trailer looks so far, it's basically episode 8...
Luke was never trained to use telekinesis with the force, yet does so in episode 4 AND 5. There's precedent for someone inexperienced using the force, especially as we see with the imbalance in it - the Force WANTS to be used if you let it in.
true i totally forgot about that. i think the reason why i went off on 7 was just because of the fact that it had so many references and kind of made it seem like ray was the best force user ever. but all the movies seem to have the same problem of making their heroes too good at the force. it must be one of those things where once you know you have the force, your just inherintly good at it.

3.32 It would have made more sense if they just said the robot hoped it could free itself from the spell by killing who casted it.
7.26 The bot might just have said that they were built with non ferromagnetic metals such as Aluminium, which have a much weaker response to magnetic fields.
Why did Quicksilver get in the way of the bullet, when Magneto could have stopped it himself? Was the bullet made out of plastic or something!?
My question is, why didn't Quicksilver push Magneto out of the way? He can move faster than the bullet, so why can't he just... DOOOOODGE!!!!!!?

ignoring the fact he should've grabbed wanda and moved her away and/or ran off with her if it was tracking her dna(suspenion of disbelief...fading...), you'd THINK pietro would've learned his lesson by that point, but nope! also bullets have a good track record of piercing through bodies, so 50/50 odds it still would've hit magneto

ferromagnetism which is what magneto's powers are based on don't work on anything but iron nickle and cobalt so alloy's would actually be accurate as iron is used for alloys a lot to make them stronger so what their saying is there is no iron nickle or cobalt in their bodys so his powers don't work.

5:41 actually there Is a comic explaining the issue. Long story short the black Panther ends up being enslaved by shield an Captain America asks Tony to create a suit to pretend to be the Panther and cover for him while he Is away in wakanda
The story of Ultimates 3 reminds of that one episode of American Dad where Roger falls in love with Hayley, but she’s married to Jeff, so Roger shoots Hayley, kidnaps her out of the hospital, peels off Jeff’s skin just so he can be with her while wearing his skin.
Mechakara should do more reviews.
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't (regular grade, non-DNA targeting) bullets made of...metal? And isn't Magneto's power to control metal at increasingly ludicrous levels to the point of being able to control iron in someone's blood?

It's amazing how well the MCU has done at casting and portraying it's characters. Like I can't say they are perfect as nothing is but they have pretty much gotten the perfect actor in each role and have done an amazing job adapting who they are on the big screen. Like Captain America and Tony Stark as just amazing. Black Widow and Hawkeye are done well. Thor is great and they have done an even better job changing him up as the franchise goes on. As they realized he films were kind of boring so decided to add a lot more comedy to them while keeping him still as a badass. Spiderma, Doctor Strange and Black Panther are all great. Even the none big names have been done very well like Winter Soldier and Falcon. And they also turned the Guardians of the Galaxy into a very unknown team that only the really faithful comic readers knew about. Yet MCU turned then into one of the biggest teams in the MCU. Villains have also been done very well not so much in the starting out period. But you still had Loki and since than you have had Hella, Killmonger, Claw and Thanos. They had had such success film after film that they are now able to open up the MCU and do some crazy ass shit like Multiverse and other things that I never once thought we would ever see in superhero films. Its such a shame on the other hand that DCU had like what 3 films before they tried to set up the JL and than even try and introduce something as crazy as Flash Point in the coming films which of course has never happened. Wish they just took the time and focused on making good solo films like they have been doing lately instead of instantly trying to create an entire universe. It just baffles me that the MCU has been handled so well while even comic books themselves have a hard ass job keeping their current entire world storyline going as sooner or later they usually fail really bad and have the entire current story come crashing down like Ultimate world came crashing down due to this series.

Okay, why did "Ultron / YellowJacket" claim that his killing of the Scarlet Witch was "A crime of passion"? A crime of passion means you acted without thinking, that it happened spontaniously, and was not premeditated... However;
As the previous issues beat us over the head with, the bullet he used to kill her was designed specifically to kill her, like it locked onto her DNA or some crap. Hell, it was the robot duplicate of Stark who tells us this!
So no, it was not a "crime of passion". It was premeditated! He had to have wanted to kill Wanda beforehand, or else he wouldn't have gone to the trouble of making a bullet specifically to kill HER. Not Pietro. And if you say it would've worked on him too because they're brother and sister, shut up. Being biologically related doesn't mean you have the exact same DNA.

I don't know the way stark bot explained it sounded to me more like it targets the dna of the person it's fired at not that it was made specifically for her.

Nice little twist, reminds me of one of the Silent Hill reviews. Joe Mauderia's art was just so unbalanced and ridiculously exaggerated especially for a series that prided itself on being a "realistic" take on The Avengees.

IT WAS RICHARD PARKER AND EDDIE BROCKS DAD WHO CREATED THE VENOM SYMBIOTE, AND PETER TOOK IT FROM A LAB, GOT THE BLACK COSTUME, AND HAD TO GET RID OF IT! Once Eddie found out what his friend did (they were childhood friends in the Ultimate universe.) he took the venom symbiote, and bonded with it!
I just realized he was referring to the robot double of Venom... that still begs the question of why he made a robot Venom to use for the distraction, instead of something else.

Just wanted to say and I know I am several years too late, I never spent a single dollar on any Ultimate comic. I had a brother that spent his own money on Ultimate Spider-Man but I myself never liked it. I prefer the original Universe where Peter is an adult through out most of his history and where Green Goblin isn't a hulk like monster who can magically shoot fireballs out of his hands for no reason. Having read more 616 Marvel comics over the years (though mainly older stuff not much modern stuff as I hate One More Day and the comics that came after it), I myself like Linkara don't like Cannibal Hulk, Cannibal Blob, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver having sex with each other, Wolverine being Scarlet Witch's and Quicksilver's father cause he slept with Magneto's wife, or Wolverine originally being part of the brotherhood. Maybe other people can get into that stuff but I can't.

you know, given this review was done by Mechakara who we've seen doesn't have a sense of humor it's kind of impressive that he made such a good review, clearly he learned from his Linkara well. Also the detail that he gets so insulted by the bad robot logic was a nice bit of foreshadowing
