Is there anywhere in “In Christ Alone” where they throw in a measure of 4/4 or 2/4? I noticed you didn’t do that anywhere It sounded better the way the you did it
@@stalj yes ^_^ I played flute in the band during my middle and high school years and i would always go to the back where the percussion was and look at their music sheets with confusion. Its funny listening to the drums all my life and I just learned the basics of their music sheet reading. thanks a lot!

It so makes me realize that I definitely haven't been paying enough attention to all those beautiful details. Awesome playing btw, thank you so much for these very instructional videos. Hello and thanks! Not quite - I make these to be as close to the original drummer's playing as I can. Another way to use them is to mute my audio and listen to the original track while looking at the notes and seeing if you can hear the parts in the full mix!

I am challenging myself to learning this arrangement as a tool to transition from beginner theory to practice...and hope to be able to play it decently maybe... in the next decade or so lol. In fact this very drum track was used in a church service too (: however, I wouldn't necessarily play it the exact same way if I was playing it live, it would depend on the mood of the service, who I was playing with, how the worship leader wanted to direct the song and so on.

It looks simple, but it's tough. How come I can't tell it's a 3/4 when you hit the snare on the backbeat?
