I’m not a super huge shinedown fan, but good grief they are awesome Live. Brent is a phenomenal vocalist, and Zach is one heck of a guitarist. Hoping Shinedown and Skillet do another Tour together cuz I’d buy that ticket in a heartbeat!
@@trashedbodomguy I consider myself as a casual fan. @@tonicesar3704 yeah, I remember when Brent had some weight on him and the lip-syncing was obvious . But singing and playing over pre recorded vocals and instruments I can understand. Makes everything sound bigger when done right.
He's definitely lost a little bit, I've been going to Shinedown concerts for almost 10 years and I've noticed a change. Like on their older songs especially where there were more long high notes, he doesn't even go for those notes anymore, passing it off to Zach for backup or speaking the word instead. Not to say it's bad, he's obviously a great rockstar to this day, but he's 44 now, he's not 25 like when Leave A Whisper came out.
Like Aaron said, he’s past his prime. I’d say his peak was probably during the Us and Them cycle was when he was consistently at the top of his game, but if you see certain performances from the Leave a Whisper era, some are other worldly. His vocal style is extremely hard to deliver night after night, for an hour and a half at a time on an arena level for almost 20 years. It’s incredible hes still at the level hes at now. Yes, they’re definitely running some vocal tracks on some of the choruses to certain songs, but it really doesn’t bother me that much. I would rather him not blow his voice out by the second week of every tour. Yes, there are other singers in similar situations that don’t need to run tracks, but most are not pushing anywhere near as much air and power as Brent is. That power comes at a cost and it’s just not sustainable for long shows 5 nights a week for decades without some help.
Why is nobody giving credit to the MF BASS LINE OF MR ERIC BASS omg. INCREDIBLE! I'm so happy they've actually listened when on one of the lives people said they want them back to heavy.

it's terrible compared to the studio recording((((( where the vocalist sang with an awesome overdrive here he sings with a clear voice the same thing that Phil Anselmo would sing in a concert with a clear voice "I'm Broken "))))
I love shine down and have travelled extensively to see them. I honestly hate this track it’s just noise compared to previous work that in an earlier era would have charted across the world! Nothing melodic and no expression of great vocals! Love the earlier stuff hope the album charts at no1 but this track ……noooo!
This might very well be the last time we see shinedown sadly with this pandemic influenced album. They’re risking their career and their lives. They're being intentionally vague in this song and-for their own protection-I'm sure it will be like that, as well, with the other 19 songs on this album? (One of my FAVORITE BANDS OF ALL TIME, as well, Broken Guitarist.)

Brent certainly has his goober moments lyrically but I don’t think this is one of them. I’m actually incredibly impressed they are being so forward lyrically here. I can’t think of another band or artist as big as them that has so blatantly taken this position in a song. It’s very refreshing.
