They moved hughes to cb2, but clearly nobody paid attention to how good phillips was at cb2 as a fill in and size isn’t everything. Brent “air” grimes locked it down for years as a shorter corner. I dont love them using richie grant more. I want to see more of hellams. Hellams has been solid.

Canales was not about balance. He tried to run the ball even when it didn’t work. The only time Canales called passing plays were when the Bucs were behind. Bad OC. Glad he is in Carolina.

Canales was stubborn with running the ball on the first two downs of every series until they had no choice when they were behind at half time. Finally, after 12 games in the regular season. They let the passing game open up the running game.

This is the fairest analysis I’ve heard on the Saints thus far. The Saints floor is somewhere around 28th in the league, but their ceiling is somewhere in the top 15. I don’t even think the O-Line needs to be very good. They just can’t be last in the league. Carmichael’s system was based on longer routes and when it takes 5 seconds for a route to develop your protection better be top half of the NFL. Kubiak’s system is all about misdirection, short drop backs, and quick releases. If Foskey takes a step forward and Granderson has a good season, the Saints are right at the top of the division with the Bucs and the Falcons.

Troy hill played tremendously in the slot at CB added Dane Jackson who replaces Donte Jackson Jaycee will be healthy and wonnum is a big upgrade from Yetur Gross Matos and Clowney was cheaper than burns with higher production and I don’t think the ravens had a guy on the interior like Derrick brown to absorb attention
Wonnum and A’shawn are mid at best. Wonnum had a bottom 20 pressure rate % even with Hunter. All but 2 of his sacks were clean up sacks from Hunter’s pressures. And to top it off, they botched his surgery so he might not be back til mid season smh. Clowney is very solid against the run but never been a true #1 pass rusher. He faced the 2nd/3rd best linemen on each team last year because he was on a stacked defense. Our defense is the complete opposite of Baltimore’s.
