Thank you for the share 😊 we worked hard to get the color right... It’s not bright white - hospital lighting LEDs. It’s a very warm light that adds to the ambiance. Thank you again!!
I've been watching you use this in your videos lately. I'm glad you did a review on it. I just ordered one for my 73 yr off dad who lives 100% off grid. He has solar panels for power and has mentioned wanting something like this to light inside his cabin without using alot of power. Super useful! I look forward to him testing it out!
Love the product, durability, and that it’s dimmable. The bag is great to turn it into a smaller footprint light. Would like to see it capable of white and red light. I often use low level red lighting in a tent at night.
I purchased the original light when it was offered under the name Lumanoodle on a developers website. The concept was the attraction. I have used it for power outages, as a light for cookouts, camping...you name it. It's a truly well thought out bit of kit for many uses. Glad to see someone made a less expensive version.
from haven website - Due to an unforeseen spike in demand from Luke's review on TheOutdoorGearReview, we are temporarily sold out of RidgeLights. But more are on the way!! - hahahaha - just pre ordered 2 - hope they support you Luke - great channel
Haven RidgeLight: This is why I've followed Luke all these years! This light is going to be a great addition to my outdoor life, travels, and activities!
I've been debating getting a string light for camping the last few years but wasn't sure which one would survive actual use. This review cost me 30 bucks lol!
Hey Luke, I have to say I truly like this light. I liked this light the first time I saw you use it. I looked it up for the price because I had to have it. I too like the versatility and can't find any cons for it either. It is awesome. Thanks for your honest reviews, Luke. I hope you and Susie like the package I sent y'all. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS Y'ALL 🤗HUGS🤗
I've seen you use this many times so it's obvious it's a useful item. You've never said one negative statement about it. High praise, indeed! I think I want one.
Definitely going to order 2 or 3 of these. I have a tiny teardrop trailer and multiple tents. Lately I've been doing a lot of tent camping and can power them for ever with my EcoFlow Delta.
Thank you Luke. Love this product. I think this would work perfect up under a hammock tarp to keep this older hiker a little safer. Sounds like it's worth the half pound of comfort wieght . I'll keep you posted. Thanks again my friend
Watched this last night on my TV so commenting was not a thing. I saw you with this light months ago. I immediately saw promise and went right out and bought one. I have come to the same conclusions as yourself. Great little piece of kit, low power draw very flexible literally and figuratively speaking. I love it.
So, I bought two of these, and all I can say it's a well thought out product. I liked mine so much I bought two more of these. I enjoy the ability to adjust the length, the taughtness, and it has mini carabiners, and loops at the end. Like options for your options. Excellent product and brightness
Great, timely video Luke !!! I have been trying to find what lights you were using and was about to pull the trigger on a lesser product. How long will the light run on your power supply?
Yep I have a couple of the luminoodle colour string light variants and they are very good lights. Came with a remote the same but I cut the receiver off the end of the string and added Bluetooth receivers. Can now control lights with many settings via my phone on Lotus Lantern app.
I absolutely love how you didn't just try it once and review it,but have used it since spring firt.thats a review I will jump behind and just get one now.thank you so verry much.
I've been wanting something like this for while. ...and when Luke gives pros but can't come up with any cons, I know that it's time to seriously look at a product. Went to their site, and apparently I wasn't the first to think this. They're sold out, with an explanation that this video (with link) is the reason. I back-ordered two.
Luke: I've been using this light setup in the UK for a couple of years now and I'm feeling really smug now I have TheOutdoorGearReview's seal of approval. Many thanks
My wife and I been watching your videos and seeing you using these haven ridge lights we watched your review video on these lights . We really enjoyed and appreciated your honesty on them . We are probably going to order a set or 2 they really look great and should work out for our tent camping trips. Thanks again
If you ever questioned the impact of your reviews: I watched this video the evening of the very day it came out. I immediately picked up my laptop and ordered this light. I received an email from Haven Tent the very next morning apologizing and saying that as a result of your review that they had almost immediately sold out of all the lights they had in stock! And it might be several weeks before mine would ship. 😳 Your reviews do have impact!
Thank you for the light review. I have ordered 2 Sunday night. Today I get an email that my order is on back order. You have sparked a massive positive response from your viewers about this light. Haven was over loaded with so many orders after your light review. I thank you for your reviews and sharing you thoughts about gear and your adventures. Keep up the fun and reviews.
I bought this last spring after I saw it in one of Luke's camping adventures. I can give you something else that this is great for. Reading in my tent. I have always had issues with reading in my tent with a regular tent light. I had to get the book set in a specific angle to get the light, which also meant I had to adjust myself to be able to read at that angle. This lights is spread out so the angle of the book is far less important and I can read in my most relaxing position. I also have something not good though and I cannot quite figure it out. Almost all power banks work with it, but I have one that I recharge my phones and other things with that will not work with this. I think it is because that power bank is probably built just to recharge things and the power draw on this, at least at less than full brightness, is not enough for the power bank to sense it so it shuts down in about 10 seconds.
Thank you for reviewing this light! We just watched this video and we are ordering one. We wondered about this light after watching you use it in so many situations. You really rock Luke!!
Thanks for the review Luke. I Just ordered a set of these to use with my various tent setups. I usually carried a small lantern, but seemed too focused and had to move it around depending on what I was doing. These are perfect!
Luke Fireman here i was just talking to a neighbor to weeks ago for some kind of light for in the house and back yard I know if it works out for you it will work out for me I'm so glad to see this to day I will check into this and get some Thanks for the review Strength and honor Fireman 🔥🔥🔥
Nice. A great, and inexpensive, piece of gear. Great on a ridge line but likely just as great as a headboard reading light at home with dimmer switch so as not to disturb your partner.
This light is great in every way and I’ll be buying at least 7 of these. A few for me and 4 for gifts for my outdoors peeps. Thanks for the introduction to this great product. ~KP
I have been eyeing that in your videos for along time. Thanks for the review…”no cons” - enough for me. I bought one. Incidentally…so did everyone else! The site says that due to your review they are temporality out stock! The power of TOGR!
I love this light product, I would use this when the power goes out. Your review are very important to me, you are very true full, thank you God bless you
I have a similar product except mines made by monster. The nitecore batteries are terrific. Only Chinese batteries I trust. These rope lights are perfect and don’t take a lot of watts to run all night. I just plug mine into a portable batteries pack and wear it around my shoulders. Mine also has a remote control, and colored lights if you want. But yours is nicer imo. These are a must have item
I really like the USB LED strips. This one is even better because it's dimmable. I use one in my truck cab, and it beats ANY dome light hands down. No more fumbling for a flashlight to see something on the floor or other darker areas. The plastic sleeve on the outside is actually a diffuser that does a really good job of spreading the light out. I keep mine plugged into a USB power bank and keep the power bank plugged into an accessory outlet to keep it charged. That way I can go to car and turn the strip on to find something without having to pull out my keys to turn the ignition on. I've bought another one for camping, but now I think I'll opt for the dimmable version.
haha - it's funny - as I mobile DJ - I had a heap of these left around after making up a lighting rig - and made up some 1m strips for my tent - they work amazingly well... I've had them for years... still going strong!
What a GREAT review!!! I have coveted one of these since the first time you showed it in an adventure. Where- how would I use it? Let me COUNT the ways! As part of my household emergency kit, my car (I'm night blind so need light for changing a tire, car issue, bad weather, etc.) picnics, and camping! It would be a multi- functioning tool equal to a water bottle and camp stove!!! I'm giving them as holiday gifts to three people!
Definitely cool. Kinda makes any downside or complaints of a tarp or tent not have a loop for a lantern irrelevant. On their site they show it all bunched up in yelow a bad so the bag glows like a lantern or giant light bulb. Truly cool stuff
I've been using AA powered LED christmas lights for the same thing since 2017, they do not attract insects either. Had a look at the long string version for military use as far back as 2007, when intensity control was the only issue.
I got something similar to that on Amazon a few years ago...LED string lights, silicone hangers, and a bag. One was warm white, one was red. Got something similar from Big Agnes too. The big difference I see on this one is dimmability. I still gravitate to my Luci lanterns...mainly cause I can use them like a backup flashlight too.
Thank you for sharing this, seen it used on your vids for a while and loved the look of them, just ordered two to the UK. Love your vids always helps me smile take care and stay safe brother
Hey Luke! Obviously battery size is going to determine run time, but in your usage of the light, how long would it last before you had to change or charge the battery pack?
After watching you with it for months, I already snaged one. I'll use it car camping. I also think it would be great as backup lighting in case of Hurricanes outages. S & H Luke & Fam.
The only "con" I can think of is the absence of at least a red light mode (which would be good for waking up in the middle of the night). If the LEDs could be programmed to more or even any color, then you'd have a perfect LED light strip for camping!
I have one of these exact lights but it's several years old now, and have it hanging in the back of my jeep so I have adequate lighting. No button and it doesn't dim. Those two things are definitely something I could really use when running by just a USB battery
It looks like a great product so I went straight online to see about price for me as I'm in Australia. It was $49 but out of stock. I will keep an eye out though. I haven't seen anything quite the same as that even though there are other varieties of strip LED lights they don't seem as sturdy as that one.
Came here after seeing it in the fog rainy adventure, seems like a good piece of gear, I do not use hammocks and usually take with me the same lamp you use and a head lamp plus a tiny head lamp spare and that is plenty but for a proper camp site for the price and versatility this may be in my shopping list for the next adventure.
Thanks for reviewing this Luke. Ordered two to have on hand for power outages. Have had a few of those lately here in central NC, should come in handy.
I have the Lumenoodle version in my van and I love it. I've owned it for three years oor more and no issues whatsoever. The light is ample for my needs. Mine does not have the touch switch...just plug it into my Jackery and it glows brightly.
Master Luke, Is this the first ever review, with no con’s? I don’t ever remember any other one this discussed. If is, I’m going to order me one. Oops, just ordered one. Another great vid.
Great review Luke on an awesome product 👍👍 Purchased one a while back as a lightweight option for backpacking and motorcycle camping, haven't looked at anything else and can't fault it. Love the system so much have recommended it to other like minded friends and family as there is no other light system even close to its portability and versatility.
A headlamp can do almost everything this can and is also hands-free and practical for trips to the latrine. Plus mine was around $30 or maybe even less, and it included the battery. And many new designs come with a firefly mode to conserve battery or to not blind anyone.
Thats cool. We currently use just a mini LED set that runs off button batteries. Love them. When those die maybe it would be worth switching out. Ours are just dollar store. Have been using them about 3 years now. So tiny and low weight. If we expe t rain we put it in the tent, if not.expecting rain we keep it outside and run along the frame of the tent.
This is awesome man! Thank you! Already loved LED strips for years, had a powerbank for years, but yet never thought of this reality. Thanks again, likely to use it over at friends when its too dark in certain spots, and also in my car when its too early or late but i have to be in the car and dont want to be tired!! 🙏✨
Thank you for the review Luke. I was looking for a good lighting system…bought it. This is the second product I have purchased based upon your review. You rock air!
Watched the vid and went to go buy one. They're sold out and they say is all Luke's fault 🤣😂 At least they link the video. Love all your vids and reviews Luke thank you for your great insights.
Saw this video tonight. Have noticed you using this and I am glad you did a quick review of it thanks. I will purchase it and use on a trip next month... kind of a car camping but on a harley Ultra from Florida to Indiana. Probably stop in Georgia initially and then again half way between Indiana and upper Indiana. Will do same power pack deal and setup in a tent... Motorcycle/harley tent camping. Thanks my friend.
I have similar but way lighter. I have the copper wiring led string. that is 10m long. They won't be as robust as the wires are exposed, but are amazing for hanging under a tarp and crazy lightweight
There are so many of those kind of lights out there, thanks for doing a review. I like it, so I will purchase several for my cabin, whether for a light or a night light it is so awesome. Stay safe and Blessings
This looks awesome! I have been doing some strip light stuff with my van and they have been cool to play with. But this is an all in one solution. It has the silicone cover and USB ready. I think this would make a great addition to my adventure bike kit or just when in my truck camping in the bed with the shell.
Being a 2m length of light, it will also light your space up in an even, well distributed way without much in the way of shadows etc, unlike a lantern which casts very contrasting directional shadows which can make food preparation at nighttime very difficult...
This video is perfect timing. I was just trying to figure out in your previous Ian video what light strip you were using and hoping you'd do a video on this light strip! I'm gonna pick one up now, thank you!
Thank you for the share 😊 we worked hard to get the color right... It’s not bright white - hospital lighting LEDs. It’s a very warm light that adds to the ambiance. Thank you again!!
Unfortunately, import costs double the price of the product, would love a set otherwise.
@@christophermaitland hey! Where did you try to ship it to?
@Haven Tents the U.K, even with your EU store the price is doubled 😭
@@christophermaitland ahhh sorry. Post Brexit is rough.
@@HavenTents certainly is, the UK is a large consumer market, high import fees will only deter buyers.
You know it's good when Luke likes it so much he buys a second one 😁
think he's kinda parsimonious?
You get the second one for FREE if you order now
Now the company is sold out because of this video and they can't find anymore child slaves to assemble them.

Wow, what a great word. Even if he isn’t, just the fact that you used it in a sentence impresses me…👏👏
I've been watching you use this in your videos lately. I'm glad you did a review on it. I just ordered one for my 73 yr off dad who lives 100% off grid. He has solar panels for power and has mentioned wanting something like this to light inside his cabin without using alot of power. Super useful! I look forward to him testing it out!
What is he going to plug it in to? You can watch the Solar cabin channel on YT for reviews of all kinds of off grid things.
Your dad sounds AWESOME!
Any updates on what your dad thinks of it?
I think this is the 1st review you have ever made with no negatives!
Love the product, durability, and that it’s dimmable. The bag is great to turn it into a smaller footprint light. Would like to see it capable of white and red light. I often use low level red lighting in a tent at night.
If it's the same as Bonlux you can get a coloured version, we use red for obvious reasons and have them in our get home bags and other kit.
I purchased the original light when it was offered under the name Lumanoodle on a developers website. The concept was the attraction. I have used it for power outages, as a light for cookouts, camping...you name it. It's a truly well thought out bit of kit for many uses. Glad to see someone made a less expensive version.
I have a Luminoodle as well. I got the remote to go with it and I love it in my tent or going for night time walks.

Watched this last night on my TV so commenting was not a thing. I saw you with this light months ago. I immediately saw promise and went right out and bought one. I picked this up after seeing it in several of your videos previously. I can only sing the same praise as you have, it just works and it works well.
I've been using ENO's Twilights for several years with no major complaints. These look like an even better, more convenient option.
My wife and I been watching your videos and seeing you using these haven ridge lights we watched your review video on these lights . We really enjoyed and appreciated your honesty on them . Nice. A great, and inexpensive, piece of gear. Great on a ridge line but likely just as great as a headboard reading light at home with dimmer switch so as not to disturb your partner.
I have two, and absolutely love them.
I have similar but I purchased mine from Costco and they work flawlessly.
I'm a sucker for cool lighting.
Just ordered one. Thanks.
I do think a little remote control would be nice.

Thanks. I have a Luci Lantern (which I love) and would be curious to see a comparison.
I was thinking the same. Don’t think you can beat solar. But, it’s pretty cool.
Went to buy one, they sold out due to this review! 😊 pre-orders do get a free set of ultralight carabiners. Yes, I have a pre-order in.
I bought it on back order. It can come in handy anywhere. Thanks
Best camping light ever! That's for the information brother!
An all around good simple but easy to use and carry night lite is a mission essential for normal off road life. Thanks.
That’s been my philosophy for years… when in doubt, whip it out. It’s served me well…so far lol.
I was hoping you'd review this. With such a glowing (pun intended) review, I now know where to go in buying one
Just ordered one. Thanks for the great review!
I've just ordered two, ready for our forecasted blackouts!
I would use it in every situation you mentioned in this video.
Luke, I love those lights! Thanks for sharing your review!💡
