For those who are not familiar with Driven Shooting in the UK, here is a short synopsis of how it works. A private estate employs gamekeepers to manage the wildlife and habitat on the land. In the summer they will either do a count of the wild population of game birds to establish a harvestable surplus or release young birds to become wilded. The conservation benefits and net-biodiversity gain that managing land for game shooting has is well documented. On a shoot day there are 3 'teams' in simple terms. One is called the beaters, they work in strategic lines to push these birds towards the guns. It is not easy as these birds are not tame in the slightest. One is called the pickers up. These are dog handlers in charge of collecting the fallen birds and getting then cooled down and ready for the food chain. They will also pick up wounded birds to be dispatched. The dead game is shared between all staff at the end of the day, and any surplus is allowed to be sold to retailers of game meat. Nothing is wasted. The last is the guns, the people shooting. They stand whilst the birds are driven towards them. It is one of the traditional ways that birds are hunted in the UK and some other countries. We do also walk solo with dogs, but this is less common. The clothes we wear are both practical and traditional. The man loading my gun is a friend and loading for someone else to increase the chance of a focused shot and clean kill is not uncommon. If you have any other questions - let us know! JC

As a long time Perazzi shooter, I love and will always have a detachable trigger for several reasons. first, they can be easily removed for routine cleaning and lubricating, especially after a wet day in the field either shooting clays or game. second, I find the leaf spring is vastly superior to coils for both lock time and maintaining lock time over time. the simplicity in keeping a fresh or newly replaced spring keeps me enjoying my guns without interruption. I'm intrigued but can't help notice the wood to metal fit on the action.. if I bought one would probably be the first thing I ask them to customise for me!
As an American, the idea that "it doesn't fit me well cause its not my gun" cracks me up. Nothing here is custom fit. We all grow up shooting 500 dollar pump guns and get really good with them. I know some guys that could kill 50 birds with 50 shells on a second hand cheep $200 Remington. I can only dream of a custom fit stock, I almost don't want to be spoiled by one, I would love to have a hand fit side by side, hopefully one day I can afford it. The gun does not make a good shot, but man can it make the shooting more enjoyable.
I've never been a fan of the over under shotguns but this is a very pretty and well made gun, but I can't let go of my fathers old beretta side by sides, I grew up learning to shot those and I have never had a bad hunt with them 😊 Beautiful video and you have a new sub for sure! 😁
A slightly different perspective on detachable triggers is that when removed, the gun is unusable. Not a bad security measure when travelling to and from the shoot/range. Same as travelling with the bolt removed from a rifle.
Thanks for the video. I've shot game for over 45 years and back then, 'standard' guns had 28" barrels, some 27" or even less. I find 28" barrels 'swing' more quickly and intuitively, especially from gun down. Each to their own but 32" barrels snap shooting partridge in a wood would be a challenge... Nice gun BTW - side plates would finish it off and shift the weight slightly rearwards.
I don't have words. Why am I moved in such a way by a darling of a shotgun? Your presentation left me feeling as though you were describing an old lifelong friendship that is steeped in intimacy and value. You gotta stop this wicked high caliber production, it's leading me astray.
Never try a wedding dress that you can't afford! This is a wicked gun that can make you miserable if you can't afford it? -- I don't want to hear about it!
Top-notch presentation as always, guys. "Finest gunmakers" is a really bold claim. It seems really nice, but probably not twice as nice as my F3. I must admit, it looks like it has more "soul" than my cold and mechanical shotgun. Personally, I'd rather have no engraving than one done by a machine. For eight grand, an over/under has to be almost perfect in my eyes. The competition is fierce at that price point, and the notorious P seems like an obvious choice.
That's fair point. I like the way engraving looks, currently don't own anything engraved. But yeah I suppose there is something about engraving being hand done.
Detachable trigger is a good thing! If out shooting and your gun gets very wet (not uncommon in this country). You can strip it down that much quicker!
I’m lucky, I shoot an H&H and I’d never ever change but wow that thing is stunning and if ever anyone asked for a recommendation I might just suggest it
What is the budget? Would lean Rizzini. For £15k I could get a more or less custom engraved, custom built 460 that would stop you listing after anything else. Vs a black Perazzi with nice wood for the same money. I do love a Perazzi though, you can feel the pedegree when you pick them up,
I am more of a black gun guy, wood and engraving is, “yes very nice, but what does that bring to the party”. However just looking at this gun I really like it, the wood, the engraving the shape and style. With regards to your comment, “ you pick up a gun and fall in love”, well I thought I loved my side by side, but yep I got a cheap shadow from your shop, and have never shot clay or game as well with any other gun, so I know what you mean. Even had several comments on the high polish stock at a local clay shoot. Please don’t stop bring us content like this.
It brings heritage, beauty, style, craftsmanship, art and excellence to the party. As does being appropriately dressed for the occasion. Yes, the birds would come down if we used a rusty Baikal while attired in a boiler suit, but it ain't the same.

It’s a pretty under over, you can buy that here in the us for as low as $350 with all the glamorous etching you want, guess guns in the UK are just more expensive
That bit about nice guns absolutely ruining lesser guns absolutely holds true. My experience is a little bit more limited on that front, but going from a $250-$350 pawn shop 12 gauge to a Benelli semi auto, it's an entirely different class of gun altogether. The weight, the balance, the fit and finish and feel, the way it pushes you back instead of smacking you back - there's just something about a nice gun that can't quite be properly communicated, it has to be felt. I'd love to see how one of these stacks up to a benelli, I can scarce imagine how much better a shotgun can even feel in all honesty.
I see the detachable trigger as a safety thing. If you need to leave your gun in the car or whatever you just take the trigger with you and the gun is worthless.
Its nice to see some appreation for firearms outside of being vilified.. nice video... ive taken a look at Holland and Holland and my goodness i dont think i could ever afford one of those with out some kind of substantial income..
JC loosen those purse strings and buy some TSS and go after those high birds. 😁 On a serious note, would the removal of the detachable trigger group reduce the price a little? 🤔

The buildings still there, a grand five story affair, unfortunately all boarded up and decaying the last time I saw it. It still has their name in the render work half way up. Shame....

Well I hope the name fits for that price haha in America we could buy damn near any custom gun for those prices. That being said, I’m not a low brow towards the change in lifestyle and the appreciation of the hunt.
great vid , and i love the gun , Question , is there a big difference in shot velocity between a 30 inch and a 32 inch . if not why would you go for a 32
For me who has a pretty fast gun hand and monkey arms a 32” can force me to be smooth, which aids consistency. The same can be said for any other the effect is just boosted.
Another well done video, thanks. Love that you are aware not to shoot birds outside the range of steel. Can imagine it takes a bit of getting used to, still having both options.
It’s a new way of thinking for sure. Can be hard seeing birds go over knowing they would be fair game with lead. There are plenty of new steels coming to the market that will be capable of higher birds over the next few seasons. Or as Mr Hill commented I’ll just buy a slab of tungsten 😂
Where I'm at in the U.S. you can still use both for upland birds most places. All steel for waterfowl of course. I've gotten to where I mainly just use all steel since a total lead ban is likely to come eventually and it's "cleaner".
Did you use the William Powell Prestige while filming with Field Sports Britain? Perhaps you need to go head to head with Andy Crow and his Blaser? That would be a great show!

In 50 years, when your kids are shooting it, they'll never know....
@@sdriza I’ve got my grandfather’s Savage .22 bolt gun from the 40s and it still shoots true, price does not equal reliability.
@@VexChoccyMilk I agree with you completely. My point was more along the lines of - once he gets it straightened out, it'll hopefully start shooting consistently and one day in the future, someone will enjoy the gun and have no idea the history. (Or, at least, one would hope!)
@@sdriza On that then we agree as well!
That gun is beautiful. Wish we looked this dapper hunting in the US. Love that old classic look. 10/10
While it is beautiful… Uk firearms ‘laws’ have completely destroyed firearms communities in the UK, and unnecessarily so. Gone with them is freedom too in my opinion.
No way. They look foolish. This isn't hunting either. This is dressed up slaughter
@@jhtsurvival I agree. shooting poor birds that fly overhead is not hunting in my opinion. Shooting a deer... to collect the animal to cook eat and eat it is one thing. Shooting random birds for 'sport' (not collecting them not eating them) does not really sit well with me.
@@prancer1803 I had no idea that they didn't collect them. That's ridiculous just to shoot and leave them dead on the ground.
@@Make-Asylums-Great-Again They are picked up and at all the shoots I've ever attended the guns are able to take as many birds from the bag as they with the rest going to either the estate or butcher.
Yet another fantastic video, very professionally put together, great content and I must say one very tasty looking gun. Well done and keep up the good work.
👏 Thankyou
The edition and photographs of this video was amazing!
I'm intrigued but can't help notice the wood to metal fit on the action.. if I bought one would probably be the first thing I ask them to customise for me!
The nice thing about a detachable trigger is when travelling. It’s much easier to put a trigger in your pocket than a forend.
For £9000 it'd need to cook the fowl for dinner on top of being a great gun.
For that much I could 4 or 5 high quality rifles
As an American, the idea that "it doesn't fit me well cause its not my gun" cracks me up. Nothing here is custom fit. We all grow up shooting 500 dollar pump guns and get really good with them. I know some guys that could kill 50 birds with 50 shells on a second hand cheep $200 Remington. I can only dream of a custom fit stock, I almost don't want to be spoiled by one, I would love to have a hand fit side by side, hopefully one day I can afford it. The gun does not make a good shot, but man can it make the shooting more enjoyable.
Great video as always, greetings from 🇧🇪
Just subscribed.. Love the channel. Love to be reminded that my British brothers also still hunt.
I've never been a fan of the over under shotguns but this is a very pretty and well made gun, but I can't let go of my fathers old beretta side by sides, I grew up learning to shot those and I have never had a bad hunt with them 😊
Beautiful video and you have a new sub for sure! 😁
As an American, I always though Uk gun laws were really strict, but man do I respect how much they put into hunting, It looks so posh.
Such great filmography, well done TGS.
Cheers from America. Nice presentation, thank you.
Johnny! Great luv of the Prestige, she surely is the fancier version of a Rizzini! I like you have fallen in luv with Rizzini BR460! Yassou!
The shotgun is very nice but give it up to the gent at his side! The gun is never empty. Bravo
it’s a rebranded rizzini isn’t it ?
Br460 el..
@@heberlefh1507 lovely guns all the same very aspirational to own unbelievably good value too
What a beauty! You should definitely be living in the states with your love of firearms :P
It has been said before
Some super shots there John, what a lovely piece of kit it is.
Thankyou Gerald. It certainly captured my heart!
A slightly different perspective on detachable triggers is that when removed, the gun is unusable. Not a bad security measure when travelling to and from the shoot/range. Same as travelling with the bolt removed from a rifle.
How would lugging around a disabled firearm make you more secure? It’s not like a horse you need to hobble to keep it from going off! 🤷🏽♂️
...simple effective design with a classy wood furniture and engraving. Can't get much better than that...:)
Well atleast some of you haven't completely lost your minds on those tiny islands when it comes to appreciation of firearms.
Never try a wedding dress that you can't afford! This is a wicked gun that can make you miserable if you can't afford it? -- I don't want to hear about it!
You already did/smile . . . . . but yes!
Sounds about right. A month of baikal reviews coming right up
My baikal is undoubtedly the best gun on the planet. 😀
I wish American gun channels had this level of cinematography
Detachable trigger is a good thing! If out shooting and your gun gets very wet (not uncommon in this country). You can strip it down that much quicker!
I’m lucky, I shoot an H&H and I’d never ever change but wow that thing is stunning and if ever anyone asked for a recommendation I might just suggest it
British gun channel? I was not expecting it but I vary much like it.
Rizzini regal deluxe in disguise. Except it’s 3k more.
A weekend away in Italy having your gun custom fitted for 3k less have a nice week on lake Garda with that 3k
Not a Regal Deluxe, its based off the back of a different action spec
Your Rizzini factory tour was very impressive. Which one Jon? A custom made Rizzini or the P?
That nice, I done like there guns
Cannot find them in Kent.
Great video as always TGS 👍 gone back to your roots with this one.
Well I must say this Johnny I watch one of your old video, last week how it changed on your channel 👏
Only available at their showroom in Banbury or at shows they attend.
And it’s funny looking back on how things have changed - it was certainly easier in the olden days!
@@tgsoutdoors well some time the old way are the better ways in some ways.
But hay it a fantastic channel !
It’s a pretty under over, you can buy that here in the us for as low as $350 with all the glamorous etching you want, guess guns in the UK are just more expensive
Having watched the Rizinni vid I think id rather go to Italy and buy a 460EL, have it fitted and spend the difference on good food and wine!
Think the Powell guns are made by rizzini any way
That bit about nice guns absolutely ruining lesser guns absolutely holds true.
Does this beauty come with a dedicated shot-shell installer ?
Tom is an optional extra
Great review, facts and emotion.
Waiting for the ballistics gel test and tactical review. Does it have picatinny rails for laser and flashlight?
I see the detachable trigger as a safety thing. If you need to leave your gun in the car or whatever you just take the trigger with you and the gun is worthless.
Haha do you guys not realize you could buy another trigger?
Great location and cinematography and also, clothing also good the gun is good
Needs extended trigger guard and engraved forend catch to finish it off.
Keep the removal trigger mechanism
Its nice to see some appreation for firearms outside of being vilified.. nice video... ive taken a look at Holland and Holland and my goodness i dont think i could ever afford one of those with out some kind of substantial income..
goodness, those ejectors are top notch
It’s sustainable! Keep the removing trigger! In 100 years People will be happy with it! It has a lot of moving parts which will wear out over time..
JC loosen those purse strings and buy some TSS and go after those high birds. 😁
On a serious note, would the removal of the detachable trigger group reduce the price a little? 🤔
A slab of tss for special occasions is wise
I would love to go on that snob tour as well!
Hi Peter from South Africa, how rifle bags are made, which in the best for travel and ever day hunt,be nice
MIght b ethe most English video ive seen in awhile. Nice!
He really had a whole other person just to load his shells for him.
Hmmm, someone to reload my gun..........never thought of that.
Great video, I have owned a few of those P guns and they are nice also.
They are very nice
I remember pressing my nose up against the window of Powells gun shop as a kid drooling.....they were in still in Carrs lane in Birmingham back then. The buildings still there, a grand five story affair, unfortunately all boarded up and decaying the last time I saw it. It still has their name in the render work half way up. Shame....
Very sad indeed
William Powells are no longer William Powells any more they are they are now foreign made guns bearing the brand name.
I had a William Powell catalogue on my table when my parents came over. They remembered the owner of the store from back in the day and were surprised the company was still going, I think his son is still involved.
@@vondoom2876 Yeah, based in Banbury Oxfordshire. Interesting that their new building is called Carrs house after the road in Birmingham where they were for so long.
Adrian - me too and in later life working in the city centre I spent a lot of time in there and I’m ashamed to say I’m still wearing a Musto shooting coat I bought in there decades ago. Unfortunately the guns I bought have all been traded in. They were a quality firm with incredibly polite and helpful staff. I rarely visit that part of the city now but it is sad to see the building in such dilapidated state.
Eight and a half wh what the WHAT? Jaaaysus ima stick with the stalker's choice - TOZ
Other than that this channel is a really nice change of pace from the White Claw drinking mag dumping riff raff from over the pond.
I think I might wear a tie on my next trip to the range. Looks quite nice.
One has to pay attention 100% and then since because the gun doesn't fit you perfectly, which it can. I want one.
Awesome video Johnny lovey Gun I want one!!!!👌👏
Surprisingly lovely to shoot and very pleasant to look at
being able to take the trigger unit away ,means that if they are kept in seperate safe's got to be more security .
Something else to go missing when the owner pass away?
- I've lost track of the number of bolt action rifle I've seen with missing bolts...
For the price of one of those you could buy a m107a1 or 4 Daniel Defense m4v7 and full battle rattle to boot
Shot a WP for a few years, quality is about comparable to a high end Turkish gun but (I felt that it) doesn’t stand up compared to many of the big names. Quality felt about the same as an early Guerini- make of that what you will…
If you get one made be VERY careful about the grain direction around the headstock unless you like looking at the inside of your action
Very wholesome content.
No better than my Baikal
Theres a passage in the bible for Baikal owners COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM AND BE YE SEPARATE SAYETH THE LORD AND TOUCH NOT THE UNCLEAN THING.
Could you use this for clays? Or are there better options for the money?
Yes there is. Fishing.
What's that piece of music @1.50? I've heard it somewhere on another youtube video and i find it so haunting.
Song at 0:30 Continent - Adrián Berenguer
Quality RUclipsr 👍
Legendary content
You got a Rode mic, Audio sounds great.
#virgovic
It's...beautiful.
We want this over the pond in the US please!
I’m sure the boys at Wm Powell could sort you out.
Not sure I dig the beefy forend, but a nice gun for sure!
Well I hope the name fits for that price haha in America we could buy damn near any custom gun for those prices. That being said, I’m not a low brow towards the change in lifestyle and the appreciation of the hunt.
great vid , and i love the gun , Question , is there a big difference in shot velocity between a 30 inch and a 32 inch . if not why would you go for a 32
No noticeable difference between 30 and 32 velocities. Balance, handling and gun speed are different
@@tgsoutdoors Thanks for the reply , so why would you pick a 32 with more weight forward. it does not make sense ,.
For me who has a pretty fast gun hand and monkey arms a 32” can force me to be smooth, which aids consistency.
The same can be said for any other the effect is just boosted.
@@tgsoutdoors i see , thanks for the reply
Thanks for the thoughts on this - intriguing. I’m looking for a hp gun around 10k gbp - how would you compare this to the Churchill Hercules
This is probably a better HP gun than the herc, although I would go with the latter for an average pheasant gun over this.
So much class
Did you use the William Powell Prestige while filming with Field Sports Britain? Perhaps you need to go head to head with Andy Crow and his Blaser? That would be a great show!
Used my gun whilst filming at Gwysaney.
Would love to shoot with Mr Crow again one day.
Imagine having someone to reload for you... Just british aristocrat things I guess.. Does he chew his food for him later too?
Who wears a tie to go hunting?
