Great overview of disassembly! Thanks for taking the time to make this! I may rebuild my 2.0 TDI 02Q trans. This will be a huge help. Thanks again! Well done!
Love how your slamming it all on the table 🤔 Best way to put it all back in is build the shafts all together before you drop it back in the case. Also no need to remove smaller circlip from end bearing that is for removing the bearing from the shaft.
Thanks for very helpful video, did you try changing the synchronizers before? I'm wondering if gears come apart easily or they are all pressed together and require special tools to take apart? Thanks
I punctured a hole in the middle and used a screw driver as leverage to take it off, however you are going to have to drain the oil first if you are planning on doing this
From what I remember it was just a plug it didn’t look like it applied any pressure to the shift tower. My biggest help was going to the dealer and asking for schematic drawings of every part on the transmission. Keep in mind the shift tower can only go one way and has to align with the shift forks. Do you have any grinding issues or anything else besides that?
@@19965874 thanks for the reply. It shifts gears mostly smooth it just never returns the gear knob into central position vertically... which is a problem if you want to shift faster.
Hy! I recently baught a Audi a3 8p Mk2 from 2009 2.0 tdi with a gearbox failure with a KXX code and a CBAB engine code. Someone told me that the older gearbox fit in place from the older 2.0PD but I don't know exactly wich code of gearbox shoud I search for. If you have some information, please share them with me!
Destroyed mine thats why I'm watching, but I'm actually hoping to take the gears apart and replace the synchronizers smf with all the extra vibration inside trany destroys soft yellow metals, and thats why gears starting to grind...
Very similar to the NFQ transmission I have in the Skoda I am working on. Thank you!

Nice video, I'm about to go pull my trans apart!!!!! wish me luck bro!
Thanks a lot for the video. You have no idea how much I need it. Thx again. Good job.
There’s 2 washers/shims on that reverse idler gear, bellhousing side one was left out here 🧐

thank you so much god bless you
well done bro, very informative.
Is there any special process putting back the shifter tower??
The shifter forks. They bend and eventually grenade the trans.
Use steel shift forks/aluminum any are better than stock.
We call them bush mechanics here in South Africa...
The cap at 6 minutes. With the hole. How did you remove it? Mine is leaking and needs to be replaced.

Thanks. Mine is leaking from the cap. Is there a seal inside that might need to be replaced?
Is there anything that would make trans fluid leak out of the axle?
Nice video man 👍 I really enjoy the video very well explained
if the shift tower nut was sheered off, is the instruction at 7:18 the only process I need to follow to replace it with a new tower?
My good man those are bolts not screws and those things that connect to the axles are called flanges.
my 6+1 golf 5 gearbox has issues when changing from 1 to 2, could it be the wiring or the gears ?
Possibly synchro
What is it he removes at 7:40? I have an issue my shift tower is not moving freely up and down. Is there any spring or retainer pushing it?

Is there anywhere you can buy the transmission case for the driver's side of an MK4? I spun the axle out and it punched a hole in the case
Did you ever find one lol just did that to mine
@@Jesse-hr2ef nope lol I replaced the trans
Would you mind sharing the torque used for attaching the housing bolts?
I just did hand tight on everything and used oem vw silicon to seal the case no leaks at all.
on 11.59 forot to put washer under . best regards

Ring the vw or audi main dealers and ask them. They know everything
Or pop in. Even better
@@javaidsadiq5775 ok.
Nice job.
Is this the same as a mk4 6speed
does SMF conversion kits destroy these types of transmission ?

very helpful!
Do you have the trans sensor part number and name?
Doe anyone know what the black plug/cover, under the front fill hole is?
man hes probably not native in english, its normal
Wich oil ?
I put Red Line MT90 good stuff !
Make sure you use GL-4. GL-5 will destroy the yellow soft metals.
