I love Sadler. What a talent. All of them are top flight. I live in a bit of fear Jason will tire of his band and want to go a different direction creatively.....
thoughts... Decoration Day is one of the great rock and roll story telling songs of all time (it's about a true story , btw... GTMF) Speed Trap Town is one of saddest songs I've ever loved... "sign my name and say my last goodbyes" breaks my heart all over again, having done just that, 2X. Cover me up as a love (lust) song is as good as anything I've ever heard. Seriously.
Great show! Some dude puked on us (lil bit of pukesplash on the ankles is um, yeah) in our crappy seats way in the back, and the venue management hooked us up with amazing seats in the 3rd row on the right side. Thanks Bros! (Not the puking guy, f that guy.) It's a shame they didn't include the opener Richard Thompson in this stream, he was something special.
OMG, this almost makes me want to seek out the biggest drunk at his next show, in the hopes of getting a wee bit of 'puke splash' on me, just enough to make the venue move me front and center! LMAO. Thanks for sharing this : )
@@76helterskelter glad to help. Jason Isbell has learnt from the best and stands comparison with the best. So glad someone told me about him late last year, catching up....
Great question. See above. I didn't go see him in Clearwater the other night. I was sad until I saw that he still cycles so many of the same songs in all his set lists. He needs Hood or Cooley to give him pointers on changing things up
There seems to be a nucleus to each tour, this one is of course "The Nashville Sound", even though only about a third of the show are songs from the latest album. As far as I remember, from this set here he did not play Decoration Day, Super 8, and two or three others when in Oslo in November (same tour, basically). There they played slightly different sets on their two concerts (two or three songs changed between the nights). He is not as "play it by ear/placard" as Springsteen, but on the other hand I think they build the sound and rythm of the show as few others; on tour they really are a rock'n'roll band. I think he could "wing" it a bit more, tell more stories on stage and improvise the set a bit more, but I read someplace that he is not really into requests and that kind of stuff (no reference here, sorry). Maybe he is just so focused on having a professional performance (as opposed to the final days in DBT)? But, like Springsteen, he could actually have played for four hours and you STILL would wait for that extra song. The best writer of his generation, by a few miles.
Constructive criticism here, please don't kill me... The lights are wrong for a broadcast - way too dark. The mix was either too low for everything except the kick and snare or , more likely, too high for those two mics. Otherwise, a great performance. First stream I've seen in a while without AS and the dynamic is great.
I thought the sound was great. I wish he'd loosen up the set list and do more from his first 3 albums. Some great tracks on there that he rarely plays.
I say this with all due respect, the band rocks so much better without Amanda. She's a damned talented woman, just like these guys better without, so much more guitar.
I hear what you're saying, but I don't think they let loose enough without her, either. I'm old school, so I'm used to some raw stuff, and raw this ain't.
Good how Mr Isbell is able to turn his personal conflicts and "imperfections" into works of art.
That's really special and unique in his genre.

The hero we need in these here youtube comments. Thank you sir.
Your are all welcome. The fact it is appreciated makes the time spent well worth it.
This post, FTW!
Bartender.... Whatever Daniel is having next, make it a double, get me one too, and put em both on my tab!
Saw this show at the Tobin Center in San Antonio. Worth every penny and every minute spent. Incredible show all the way around.

Utterly amazing! Great way to spend the evening. 'Sure wish I could have been there in person.
Great seats great sound great artists
Attended concert with wife. Our 6th visit with Jason. great show.
I attended with my wife and friends - great concert in person.
Jason and Sadler's voices sound AMAZING together.

Such a great show. Isbell is the best alive at the moment imo
That's what I'm talkin' about!!! 🙏🏼❤️🙌🏼 👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks for posing! I'll be out of town when he plays at CMAC this summer. SO bummed about that. What an artist.
hello from Colombia... just, awesome, wonderful :)
Glad to see Decoration Day being played live.
Gave me chills.
I saw him in Stockholm november 2024, but this is much better (despite not performing some of the classics)
Couldn't make the show thanks so much for sharing!
Please swing down to Southern California in August!
Great seats great sound great artists
Wonderful!!!
I went to this show.
Just.Awesome!

What's even more crazy is he wrote Decoration Day when he was 21 years old!
best version of Flying Over Water that I've heard

Sadler and Chad are on it!
Amazing set, only thing missing is Amanda!
Right or wrong, without Amanda there, Isbell seemed to cut loose with what was much more of a rock concert here. A keeper, to be sure.
Jason ! come to France please ! And where is Amanda ? She misses in the band !
His stories and commentary are as good as his music!
1:46:43 what chord was that?
Why does he have a Rust Never Sleeps button on? My eyes are bad, so maybe I misread it, but I'm just curious.
The only thing I could think of was, Rust never sleeps is a Neil Young album
Jason1976 a brilliant Neil Young album. Possibly the finest he or anyone ever made. Mr Isbell is a big NY fan. A man of taste...
@@NigelMinchin I went back and listened to it and it is an excellent album. Cheers!

I mean, I guess I could've guessed that -- I'm a huge Neil fan, too (saw that tour!) -- I just thought it a little funny. In a good way. :)
Commercials in the middle of songs ffs.....I don't mind commmercials but have the sense to put them BETWEEN the songs tyvm
Why he never plays Stopping By is one great mystery. Any insight from anyone?

Jim Abbott great song. Not sure why it’s never played but it would take a 4 hour show to hit all the songs I want to hear

One of my favorites songs as well. His back catalog is so good.

Agreed.....sounds a bit muddy overall. Preferred the camerawork over the Ryman stream.
