Love these guys. They have, without a doubt have forged a #1 spot in my heart and that is not spoken lightly..i don't know how I hadn't heard of them til I joined the Marine Corps in '99.. I never had the opportunity to see them live..i spent many Marine corps nights rockin' the Cult..Thanks guys..SEMPER FI!!
Duffy is a longtime CA resident and far from getting hippied out is still as sharp musically as he ever was. Ian Astbury and Billy D are rock icons and the Cult are a band that make me proud to be a Brit. American R&R fans love these guys because they know authenticity when they see and hear it... keep on rockin' you men!
I always thought that these guys should've been way higher on the charts at the time. Imo, they were much better than the chart toppers those days. But as always, real bands like these guys stand the test of time.
I am going to have to agree with you...First song I heard from them was nirvana in 87 off a Beggars Banquet Compilation Cassette....I have loved the sound ever since
I think this was my 13th time seeing The Cult. They never disappoint and this may have been the best performance I've seen! Love how they didn't play Sonic Temple in order. Just shows how strong that album is, top to bottom! Thanks for uploading!
I've seen them many times in L.A. and for my ears Ian Astbury was at his best at this show. Tip top! Amazing guitar tones from Billy Duffy, solid tight drumming from Tempesta and a great supporting cast. I was very happy to be there as was everyone there at The Greek that night! \,,/,
Nice to see Ian is working at his singing again, plenty of power left in his lungs. He went through a time when he really seems disinterested in going for those notes, impressive here
Ian is one of the best male rock singers ever, in my opinion. His voice is very rich sounding in the baritone range. Good vocal power in concert and very soulful sounding in recordings.
@@alexhouston7533 Quite possibly, mate..... In the very old days, you set your mic line just behind the front of house speaker line and FOH was your monitors ... No doubt technology has saved a hell of a lot of singers
Year after year these guys bring it.......KILLER SOUNDING BAND!.....Billy and Ian sound awesome, what a team. This is what rock and roll is all about...hard hitting tunes that stand the test of time. Keep it coming boys.
Just love that they're not afraid to be a straight up hard rock band. They have their indie and alternative flourishes, especially on the pre Electric material but at the heart of it they are a kick ass, hard rock band.
Anyone who knows anything about rock music and guitar appreciate this band as one of the greats. Billy is one of the greatrock players of all time, and I can’t believe how strong Ian’s voice is after all these decades. RESPECT.
HE'S STILL CHANNELING JIM MORRISON AND DOING IT BETTER THAN ANYONE EVER EXCEPT JIM. I ALWAYS FELT SINCE I FIRST HEARD "LOVE" THAT IAN WAS THE REINCARNATION OF MORRISON...STYLE, LYRICS AND VOICE, HE WAS A BETTER CHOICE THAN EDDIE VEDDER WOULD HAVE BEEN TO FRONT THE DOORS, AND I LOVE PEARL JAM'S FIRST ALBUM.
The Noize.....I got a chill to hear someone else say what exactly happened to me....I would record rock songs to my cassette player from our rock station that played she sells sanctuary for the first time.....They have been my all time favorite band and I have been fortunate to see them many times!....this latest tour is mind blowing with the songs that are being played....they sound amazing!
Saw these guys about 7-8 years ago FINALLY when they played at Del Mar Fairgrounds here in San Diego . They had been on my “ Bucket list “ of bands I had yet to see play live , and just like this show here from L.A. they didn’t disappoint that night I saw them . Truly a band that stands the test of time musically , even with band mates coming & going , Ian and Billy still hold the “ Backbone “ of the band together. Without either one in the lineup I don’t think “ The Cult “ as we all know & love them could exist….. I am commenting here on Christmas Eve , 2022, and want to wish ALL Cult fans a very “ MERRY CHRISTMAS”
Amazing band, saw them live since the early 80's, met them a few times, great people! Looking forward to see them again in Italy... but I'm thinking about going to the UK in the coming weeks! Thanks for posting!
I saw them a couple of times while headlining arenas on the Sonic Temple Tour in 1990. They were my favorite band then and still are today. The gig at The Boston Garden was fkn mind blowing! They were just 𝒔𝒐 𝒐𝒏 that night and the energy was strongly flowing back and forth.
Incredibly proud to be seeing these guys at Portsmouth in October! First Cult gig, and this looks amazing. Just goes to show you don't need to be in your 20's to know how to truly rock. Awesome.
I had tickets to this tour at Humphry’s Half Moon in Point Loma but the lockdown ended that. Total b.s. but I’ve seen them three times previous. Just really wanted to go to this show after seeing the Electric show. They look and sound great, as always.
I hope in 2021 they do The Ceremony album in its entirety. That album just kicks ass from start to finish!!!! I am seeing the Cult in Boston at the HOB next Saturday Dec 15 and I can't wait to see them again.
Billy Duffy is one of the best soloists in the rock genre. Perhaps not the most technical, but consistently writes tasty, super memorable leads that fit the song. I put him right up there with Angus.
Strong as ever. Cult were always a Goth band, a different take on rock. I imagine a lot of Metal people would like this, a bit like raw rock but from a cerebrally higher standpoint.
Today’s music sucks so bad that I just make a point to catch these guys live every two years and I’m good to go. Still awesome for sure. Their newer albums continue to kick some a$$ as well.
Saw them 5/25 in Grand Rapids MI . Such a great set!! Curious, what did you use to shoot this ( please be specific with Manufacturer and model# erc)? I'm going to invest in whatever you used. Both audio and video AMAZING.
WOW....after all these years they still sound phenomenal !!

What a guitarist Billy Duffy is! He gets better and better 😯👍great performance from the whole band thanks for uploading 👍😎❤️
Duffy is and always has been VERY underrated. Dude is a stud !!

BD is incredible, always on point and a true icon
Takes it very seriously too; getting the right sound etc; really concentrated on getting it right.

No.
I was at the cults first ever gig and still to this day have the ticket
