I dont always listen to The Cult, but when I do... SO DO THE NEIGHBOURS!!!!!!!!!!! THE CULT RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best comment ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My neighbor was listening to the Cult. I threw a brick through his window so I could hear it louder!
@@captainchaos8701 Mike was that YOU????!!!! 😑
I hope youre planning on _reimbursing_ my mom for that broken window now 😋
Manuel Fxcwc did you know this exact quote is on THE ARCHIVE. The comment was by Muzzbustr. One of you is a plagiarist.
i saw them open for metasllica on the justice tour and they blew metallica outta the water!
One of the best bands in the world, ever. World should feel ashamed for lack of respect.
This is not for you phoneys out there. This is for the real rock and roll lovers who are still alive and kicking somewhere in this world.
Fuck yeah!
Are they touring? having so much trouble finding out, sure fuckn hope so.. and if they arent they GOD DAMN NEED TOO!! I would never pay over 150 for a tix for anyone BUT these guys...
The Cult's Electric : best hard rock album EVER.
thats what everyone says
Retro Renaissance 🇺🇸 all flowers can wilt . Jesus saves .
Ian's voice is great!! He hasn't change at all!!
Best voice
Pretty cool when The Cult plays in your basement.
Im gonna rescue Brooke Shields from drowning and piss the reward money away on hiring the Cult to play my fucking birthday party
It's the dining room
YES ! INDEED !! LOLOL
You Betcha ! And of those old dudes to do it too !! Lolol Seen Rat video of them older Rat dont have nuttin on the Cult ! Sorry Rat just had to Lay it Down and How Right Now !! lolol oh hahaha I had to do it !!
@@wavryder What Ever ! LOLOLOLHAHA Suprized ( Not Suprized) They are still What am I trying to Say ? They're Still Jammi g !!! Thank You Know Who !! Lolol
Great performance. That bass on "Wild Flower" is unreal. If this doesn't make you move, you are dead.
Billy Duffy. Flying under radar. One of the best rock guitarists ever. Word.
Tru dat!
Seriously, Bill Fucking Duffy has a few of the most signature licks in modern Rock. Great Band and perhaps one of the greatest 3 piece units ever ( back in the day )
For me, The Cult is at the top of my Playlist and has been for 4 decades. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Totally Agree! A true legend!
Billy Duffy - RIFF MASTER.
The Cult playing in a confined space like this is simply insane, must have been “Electric”. Some of the audience members weren’t even born when a lot of this music was recorded.
Billy Duffy - one of my top 5 guitarists, criminally underrated.
True
I completely agree with you. Billy Duffy is an amazing guitar player and he has one of the best and most recognizable guitar sounds in Rock. He’s totally a criminally underrated musician. Ian Asbury is another underrated person in music. Ian has a fantastic voice and he still sounds amazing to this day! The Cult are just an all around great band!💪🏻🤘🏻😎
It’s not underrated, just every band, singer, guitarist are in shadow of old big stars, like : Bowie, Freddy, plant, lennon ,jagger etc for singers, and for guitarist : hendrix, jj cale, page, jeff beck, mick ronson &, drummers: Keith Moon, Bonzo, danis davis etc , and when people spoke of greatest, no place for new/ newish artist. You know what i mean. Cult is awsome band last 40 yeras, Ian Astbury what a voice, duffy maestro on guitar!
never played a sour note i read somewhere
Rated by those who know!
There are two kinds of ROCK Fans: Those who are fans of the Cult and those who will be.
Fire Woman, one of the best songs ever and never heard any more.
Why this band doesn't sell out arenas is beyond me. I see them every time they play NY
maybe because he kinda lost his voice...?
Duffy can still tear a room apart with his guitar & Ian's voice is still one to be reckoned with, the whole band sounds great....
Billy D and Steve Jones are the best guitarists of their generation.
Definitely back at 100%!
This is so awesome! I can’t believe Strombo got the Cult 🤘 Strombo has some serious connections lol
Straight up Rock n Roll right in your face. If you don't like it...you don't know rock n roll.
They sound even better now....wow! And I loved their 80s sound. That last song was AMAZING! They still got it! That is rock and roll people!

Thank you for listing!
Why are these zombies streaming this on their phones? Jeeze, enjoy the show and get into the music. Move...live in the moment! Stop showing everybody what you're doing and just do it.
The whole phone thing is so silly. I agree. Enjoy it and forget about the crappy video you're gonna get. BTW I saw them at the Varsity Theater in Baton Rouge years ago and it was great. They are a great band to see in a smaller venue.
eddie baby especially since they know this video will be released. It’s just stupid. Oh well, their loss.
Yes prickes looks like middle America to me .
You ain’t gonna beat this quality. I agree with ya put the phone away and soak In the moment!
So many sanctimonious 'live in the moment' posts. It's as predictable as it is tedious. Certainly this show was being recorded, but I've been to lots of gigs and years later I look back at videos I took and I'm back in the moment, I thoroughly enjoy them, even shitty quality phone shots. It doesn't hinder my enjoyment at the time, I try not to impede other people's view. Those videos are gold to me and I don't know why so many people have such a superior attitude....if they're not blocking your view, what do you care?
I remember when Kusf Honolulu was pumping them before they stopped in Honolulu in support of Electric… Loved it! Love
The most criminally under appreciated rock band their is.
Not here mate
FUCK YEAH!!!! IAN'S BACK! lookin like he used to and soundin like he used too.
Been a fan for almost 40 years!! And they sound just as good as back then!!
Late '80's, listening to the Cult, I never realized how popular they were. Their songs are timeless. They rocked then, and are still rocking today(2020)!
Precisely !!!
I start to listen when I read a poetry from this songs. I heard that music in eighties, but it wasnt special because I listen to Zeppelin. But The Cult still rocks.
They were the Southern Death Cult first in the early 80s.
Same...
Seen them twice in the last ten years, they still rock!
Basic simple hard rock.
Can't get better than this.
Rock on.
Love all of their up tempo tunes!
Listen to the entire She Sells Sanctuary and notice how perfect Duffy is tuned and in step they all are ..... They were a 3 piece in the 80's. They've added 2 today. This is one of the most hard rocking bands in history kids...... the 80/s they were absolute magic on stage but the thing to remember is how raw and real they were and are .... No crazy ass bells and whistles just real guitar rock !
Pease from 53 year old Texan .........
TDS On stage they was always atleast 4
They were never a 3 piece.
Jamie never got the attention he deserved. Mist english bassist played a more pop or dance drum beat in other bands similar, but Jamie plays straight up blues back beat with the drummer. That gives Duffy's psychedelic spacious beautiful guitar sound such a rocking song. The blended perfectly. Love is one of my all time favorite albums but most anything by the Cult is always worth it. Stay safe
Jamie switched from Bass to Rhythm guitar and the Bass was covered by the bassist from Zodiac Mindwarp on the Electric tour.
Nigel Preston, 4 piece from the beginning!
Duffy/Astbury = Rock Gods
I dig all The Cult records. But I played Electric every singe f'kin day of high school. To me, it is them at their absolute best. One of the best records ever made. And it was nice to hear some of that here...
You're showing our age, mate.
I watched them do the 5 straight night at Hammersmith Odeon on the Electric Tour. I must dig out my photos one day. Brixton Academy was up close and personal always and the best place I saw them gig on the Love Tour with Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction / Gaye Bikers on Acid. They then built up to Wembley Arena and it got overblown and impersonal. The second night was a nightmare with Ian drunk on stage and he couldn’t be arsed to sing.
Rick Rubin at his best. Bob Rock too on Sonic Temple
That would've been BADASS.. I was born in 89 so missed out on the crazy 80's but the early 00's held their own level of crazy good music and times. My dad made my mom's set tapes when she was a dancer when I was little and hold that album close to my heart still
Thank god for the cult
Hi Kids. I'm 60 plus and this band ROCKS and probably still is. Stay safe all!
just imagine having this incredibly talented band in the center of your living room!....best band that will ever come through strombos pad!!!
Fabulous band sounding amazingly good here!
Ian, you look better and sound fantastic! Younger and fitter than 10 years ago! :D
This is the real deal.
Billy Duffy 👍
Sanctuary has to be in the top 3 riffs of all time and generally occupying all three slots at once
There isn't a riff ever made that doesn't sound better on a Gretsch. Sanctuary, Won't Get Fooled Again (yes, recorded with a Gretsch), and every single effing song ever played by Malcolm Young.
Rhythmic masterpieces by rhythmic God's all using the same tool.
Long Live Gretsch!
@@jimberm5424 No 1 Definately
Music wise this is as good as it gets.
I CAN NOT stop watching this! LONG LIVE THE CULT!
me too. it just builds!
Hands down, the very best band in all the lands!!!
STILL the best band ever! Ian is just as sexy as ever too. That is all. ✨🙏♥️😎👍
Wow! The Cult are still the real deal, they crank up the volume, and "Kick Ass" and The great Billy Duffy is still a guitar, "Rock God", what a performance, Magic!❤.
That is simply "Rad"
My favorite live band especially in a cozy venue.
That voice is irreplaceable! As soon as your hear him you know it’s the Cult.
Definitely agree... Ian is simply unique.
@@UncivilizedMan I said in one other reply, He is the only frontman I would put near Morrison
@@EddieC3336 I really don't know if he is the only one but at least, physically, he looked like a Jim Morrison clone on some pics... No wonder why he went on tour with some ex-members of the doors years ago and, as far as i know, performed successfully ...
@@UncivilizedMan remember that tour and he did a great job, kinda morphed himself into Jim with the leathers, cool
@@EddieC3336 i love The doors and Jim, but Jim was shitty frontmen, 10 gig, 8 fak ups by Jim
Thank you for this Concert!!! Real good!!! Michael Frohn and Jesus Christ!!!
Best Cult performance I've ever heard. Guitar tone is unreal, Ian nails it.....some lucky people in that room
Horse Nation....Great to hear this again.
So underrated this band has been kicking ass for about 37 years... Hey Rock and roll Hall of Fame you listening???
waaayyyy better than these Yahoo's in this year's class, oh, how about Deep Purple,,
Let them in......
Over 50 years still rocking! Yes I am! Till I die! The sound .nuff said.
The Cult was AMAZING in this. The crowd, on the other hand, really needed a shot of espresso. That or they should have stocked the crowd with actual Cult fans.
ProperVillain yes!!!
And I’ve seen this before- in Indianapolis when they opened for Aerosmith and blew them away.
The crowd was dead until the final 20 minutes of the cult’s set. Except me, and a couple hot chicks front row.
Ian and billy MADE the arena get up and act alive through force of talent.
I’ve still not seen another band ever, ever turn a dead audience on like that.
It was spectacular.
How can you just stand there?!!
@@kennyscalendar i dont get it either one chick standing there arms crossed and a pissy look like she got caught smoking in school , maybe they would be happy at home on twitter
Tighter than an 18 year olds ass..they sound great! I'd kinda lost track of them then I stumbled onto this..better than ever!!
Seriously, these people suck! I'd be looooosing it!
First time I saw the CULT during bands Peak in West Palm Beach FL people I was supposed to meet didn't make it Damn did they miss a ROCK'N show! I had a blast up in the front pit jam damaging my hearing again! When will I learn > > > NEVER! ROCK ON EVERYBODY!
Billy Duffy, the guitarist's guitarist .. Ian and Billy one of the best duos ever
Rock'n'Roll, when it is a'rockin' and a'rollin'...!!!💪🏼
So f*cking good!!! Ian you look and sound better than ever brother! CFFC!!! *(Great job Aimee! Ian looks great here)
**I've said it before and I'll say it again; "Any remaining critics from earlier days can simply shut the f*ck up now! The Cult have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt they are a REAL rock-n-roll band for all time! CFFC!!!
***...And "G.O.A.T." here is soooo good! Some of their best to date!! Listen to Billy's leads! F*ckin' A man!!
Sanctuary….Sanctuary…Sanctuary!!!……..no words needed.
Holy shit! Love it! fan since the 80's. God! wish I would have found this sooner.
Porque no pasa esto aca? Siguen insistiendo con la mersada y los ablanda milanga....Dios mio!. GRACIAS THE CULT!. Ojala vuelvan pronto a la Argentina, los amamos❤💥
good to see Ian in good shape !!!!!The cult rules!
First heard them in mid eighties. Still one of my favorites. The vocals and the music is off the charts I tell you. They all compliment each other for sure. THIS,..is Rock n Roll..
LONG LIVE THE CULT !!
I discovered THE CULT in 10th grade and haven't stopped listening and never will. My 20 year old is a 80s fanatic and asked me to help her make a playlist and I told her you can't have the 80s without the CULT, now she's addicted and knows every word. So at least I know I'm parenting correctly. Most underrated band PERIOD!
yes you r
❤❤
Same! My 29 year old listens to the same music I do. And, of course, the Cult eats up the top of my playlist!
@@richardwilliams3625 When the student becomes the Master.
TOP NOTCH
I hope the audience appreciated how privileged they were........just outstanding.......
Yeh that's rock n ', come to Australia please.....🤟Timeless !
Lethal! That's Rock'n Roll people!! STILL FUCKING BADASS!
Love adding another guitar to up the tude. Yes! yes! yes!
Todd Macdonald did a great job recording them for this. It's so clean and just like the live show I just saw of them. Fantastic engineering! Is the bass mic+DI or just DI (because the bass has some girth to it, I can't tell)? Did he multitrack record this or was it live mix to 2 track?
+doctorbonkers1 Killer bass sound.
It's SO clean. I think multitrack, and DI + mic on the bass. It's very wide, as you said. Genius mix. Even the background vocals are appropriately low. Some people mix them too high.
@@2000jago Sound engineers. They are technically people.
Great band, great singer for sure.
Hey Strombo, get off your camera phone while The Cult is playing! What is wrong with you? You really look bad doing this!!

Great Voice, great guitar - one of the best bands in rock - coming back to New York City
Dear God play She Sells Sanctuary inside my house live...drop mic!
The Great Cult ! I love you guys. always have been something really special. love the new one. Cult forever !
The Cult are still one of the most hard hitting rock bands of all time. Thanks
Billy Duffy, take a bow, you are a Guitar God.
The Cult. In your house. Surreal. I think endlessly blasting "Sonic Temple" in my car is the reason I'm so damn deaf now. Worth it.
30+ years of bringing it . . . . an amazing career . . .
Headphone heaven here.
Wild Flower CRANKED right from the get-go. That lead riff will rip your head off.
Clarity of this recording is amazing given the venue.
The sound guy should get a ton of credit with all that power in such a tight venue. Sounds great.
so much!
What a band!
I would've started my own mosh pit on She sells Sanctuary. I just can't sit still when I here that one. Call me obnoxious, but I'd be the fool hopping all over the place.
THIS IS THE ONLY band I have heard of 7-8 at the Strombo Blow that actually sound like someone might pay to see them.
This is the best live version I've seen of them in years!
It was genius of them to get Tommy WIseau to replace Ian Astbury.
@@uiscepreston OH HAI SPIRITWALKER!!
Oh my! Horse Nation... Deep cuts. Now to find that song on vinyl.
Jeez the intro from Billy on Wild Flower. Not heard such a raw powerful guitar tone since Steve Jones of the Pistols. Pure unfiltered rock, love it!
I LOVE THE CULT I respect them because they have highly respect my people "FIRST NATION PEOPLE"
It's too bad they didn't play 'Wild Hearted Son'...
absolutely fuckin awesome""""" i see them every time they come to England they just get better n better.. long live the cult"""" 🌟
great band..forever
Strombo should probably get off his camera phone and take this shit in! You got a professional crew hired bud! Experience, don't record.
+Ryan Lowther not to mention Ian hates that shyte...
well said. Never understood why people do that. Best to just be in the moment - and what a moment this whole session was - stunning performance from them. Best I have seen actually.
did you ever think it's part of his job to be recording this lol
Yeah, he's old enough to know better.
Billy just rocks....amazing 👍
Ian's voice just slices your brain in two. Jeeez what a tone this guy still have. Thank god they still blessing us with their powerful sound
His voice unreachable
I believe he uses his voice even better now.
@@ChaoticAtmospherehe sounds very native now
American Indian blood❤
HELL FREAKIN' YEAH!!!!!!
i love this performance so much i want to keep hitting the "like" button along with every note on Billy's falcon. long live The Cult. they never stopped being great and only get better.
I feel the same, l keep coming back. So intense and raw. The New tracks truly work in a live setting 🙌🏻🎸👌🏻
Damn , this is no doubt for Real Niggaz only , top quality Rock & Roll !!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wished I was there, Long live the Cult!
This brings me back to the old days
Iconic, legendary, raw and relevant. Not many bands can claim that over a career that spans over 30 years. Absolutely incredible. Best band ever!
...and get off your f'n phones people! Have a REAL experience in the moment, not a shitty one on your phone later on - that's what the guy shooting professional video is for!
40 years ????
Since the 1st time I saw them back in 1985 they have always be my Fav band and in my opinion the best and most underrated band of all time.
What a set list! and damn, Deeply Ordered Chaos is so amazing. Ian's lyrics are biting, emotional and angry.
Loved this Band when i was a young punk droppin outa choppers and having fun..
Oh man, it cannot get any better than this, unless you had The Gun Club on! Way to go. The Cult is awesome! Always! Thanks for uploading this gem~!!!
Sensation 🤘🎵🎵
I remember a guy in my class telling me about the Cult my first time in 9th grade. Had to been around 1987.
after all these years !! they still ROCK !!!
While most of rock bands of their era were all about sex, drugs and posing, the Cult kept things real with decency and true rock n roll attitude.Best band of their era for sure.
I love this band man! So f... good!!!!
