    How did you read T-Ray instead of Tire? I’m confused. Also why does that instrument panel look like it’s off a 2009? 11-14 f150s come with a bigger display that has a menu you can scroll through

    You don't have to change all the cluster, just replace those 3528 smd led and it's done

    The LED's can be easily desoldered and replaced.

    Great video.
    How much was the cluster and do you really need the computer with software or can I just pull out the old one and replace with new (plug n play)?
    For me the needles on the top 4 guages stopped lighting up.
    Everything else is fine. Couldn't I just replace the light or do i hVe to replace the entire dash?

      You could send out the cluster to be rebuilt. That would allow you to not have to program anything. And ot would be cheaper. A new cluster is approaching a thousand dollars installed

      Mine did the same and I bought a used one off E-bay with lower miles than my truck. You can replace the LEDs but they're surface mounted and you have to dissassemble the gauges, remove the needles, etc. then desolder the bad one and solder on new ones... also it could be a board issue that new LEDs might not even fix. Most used, good condition clusters tend to be less than someone will charge you to 'fix' your cluster. I'm not sure if the onboard LEDs that aren't working are in series... probably easier to buy a used one off E-bay, copy your current setup config and then apply it to the new cluster with Forscan. Forscan can also add mileage to the cluster, so buy one with less miles than you have. You could also buy one with the fancier screen and replace your left steering wheel control if you want... basically they come in two varieties... the basic screen and the LCD one that requires the steering wheel control to navigate. Then there are cosmetic differences... black needles, silver needles, most have the blue back lighting but some like FX models and Raptors have red lit needles\gauges. Some models like my Limited had 'Limited' on the original gauges... I replaced with a sliver bezel'd one from a Platinum, silver needles with blue back lighting. Investing in a Forscan cable is a good thing if you like to work on your own stuff. It's also nice to be able to see your top needles in the dark again... :)

      My pleasure! Btw, I think I'm going with the FORScan ELM327 first, (or should I be going for OBDLinkEX, because it auto-switches?) then probably also a BlueDriver, later. I have a couple other cars that could use some scans, that are Chevy, and Chrysler (my parents cars) and the fact the BlueDriver streams the data to my phone via bluetooth, is pretty cool! I could use it as a guage display for all kinds of stuff, if I need to watch something while driving. Your advice on the FORscan makes the most sense, for now, for all the Ford-specific items in my Fiesta. Thanks again for the great advice, my friend! @@BigBensCarsAndCycles

    Where did you buy the new one? I have been looking everywhere online and cannot find a gauge face with blue needles like that to save my life.

    • @BigBensCarsAndCycles
      @BigBensCarsAndCycles  7 месяцев назад

      Nice deal. You should be able to pull data from the old module and upload it to the new one with forscan. But if you don't want to do all that, for not much more the dealer can program it

    850 you have lost your mind the part cost $140 and you're going to charge somebody $850 to replace the cluster in their vehicle damn I don't want to bring my vehicle to your shop watch out for this guy he's a crook

      @allanmik2904 hi, that's what the dealer charges. The labor is only about an hour, so most of the cost is the part. Oem is more expensive
