I had the same reaction with tears also.
James Earl Jones is one of the greatest voice actors in the history of motion pictures. From Darth Vader to Mufasa, his voice is like God from the heavens, it gives you goose bumps, it gives you chills, it is awe-inspiring and empowering. Lion King without James Earl Jones is not the Lion King.
@Escape The Matrix James Earl Jones was in a short lived series called Gabriel's Fire back in the 90's. His acting chops were at their peak, combining gravitas with pathos, one of his best performances.

I don't think I've ever seen Wendy get this emotional while reacting to a trailer. I've also been wondering why they only brought back James Earl Jones and no one else from the original film
Well James Earl Jones as Mufasa is iconic. Like his Darth Vader. It's really difficult to replace either.
I think they wanted to cast a more ethnic group of people for the lions, since it's Africa and all. JEJ is great anyway and you can't replace him

Guys, this was the most perfect reaction video EVER! My mother and I are HUGE fans of the Lion King back in the 90's. In fact, my mother was the one who told me about this new teaser. She even sent me the link to have me watch it as well. Like Wendy, I was all teary-eyed. I felt like I was that young kid all over again. My mother and i already decided to watch this movie in theaters. Can't wait.

I think James Earl Jones' voice is just so iconic that it can't be replaced. If they can get him, they need him.

Happy Thanksgiving guys and a wonderful trailer reaction. I absolutely love this teaser trailer. I cannot recall a trailer let alone a teaser trailer that I get literally Goosebumps every time I watched it. The inside of my body dropped when simba puts his hand over, I'm guessing his dad's Paw print. What's sadly makes me think that's just the scene after the stampede.
The song's lyrics translate as follows:
"Nants engonyama biti baba" - 'Look, a lion father'
"Siti um, engonyama" - "Yes, a lion'
"Engonyama nengui na mabala" - 'The lions gather in this place'
It is sung as (main singer)"NAAAAAAAAANTS enGONYAAAAAAma BI ti baba"
(backup choir) "Siti UUUUUUUUUUM, engonYAAAAAAMAAAAAAA"
This is repeated with different intonations on different sylables in the first part.
Then the choir repeatedly softly chants "Engonyama Nengui na mabala" over and over while the English lyrics are sung.
The "g" in engonyama is pronounced like the soft g in "hang" not the hard g in "go" and the 'ny' said like the 'n' in jalepeno, not like NYE
Nengui is pronounced like NENG wee

Wendy you did what the trailer didn’t and got me in tears. This is a very personal movie for me as I loss my dad at a young age like Simba and seeing this movie helped me get through it. I can’t wait to see this

I had the exact same reaction, my eyes got watery. The Lion King was my first movie at the theater, so it got emotional.

I watched a great many of these reaction and there is always one emotional reaction and one analytical reaction.
The second you both recognized Jones's voice = awesome
Jeremy Irons "Long live the King" is one of the greatest delivered lines in film history
I shed quite possibly the manliest tears ever. I knew that I was gonna get emotional the moment the first footage would come out but I did not think the nostalgia and just how breathtaking this looks would hit me so hard. The stampede scene alone is going to look incredible.
this movie gets me so emotional too! the song is beautiful, and now that I am a young adult and my mom died years ago this gets me so much more than when I was a kid. I love it so much.

I think they didn't bring back the rest of the cast because they thought it would be more culturally appropriate to cast people that originated from Africa. It makes sense.
If they're as good as the previous cast, sure.
Only three actors of the main cast are actually African or of immediate African ancestry. I think it's more that James Earl Jones is the only one that's simply irreplaceable. Jeremy Irons is close, but Chiwetel Ejiofor can do a great job as well.

I really want to see this trailer on a big screen, just to get me even more excited. Disney is going to dominate next year with the culmination of phase 3, culmination of the sequel Star Wars Trilogy, and 3 highly anticipated remakes of classic animated films! I can’t wait!
Funny thing . . . movies almost always switch tiger roars in for lion roars because lion roars sound like a crappy car trying to start up. I'm pretty sure that's what they did here at the end of the trailer.
Super excited for this movie. The 1994 classic is my favourite movie of all-time, and I always tear up with the stampede. Seeing it in this such realistic CG, I'm going to break like a big baby (like I still do with the 1994 original - possibly the only movie where I actually cry)
I am very excited to see this and got a little misty. James Earl Jones is needed for this movie to make it but I am a little bummed that Jeremy irons won’t be in it for Scar but very excited

@TheMovieCouple HAPPY THANKSGIVING YOU GUYS.....Jon Favreau is directing The Lion King which is a blessing.....Disney loved how well he handle and directed The Jungle Book they asked if he could come back to direct..... BTW The Beauty and The Beast teaser trailer did had one character in it Belle at the end looking at the rose lol!!!!

Mufasa: There's more to being a King instead of getting your way all the time. Simba: There's more??? Mufasa: Simba. I grew up with this movie. So I know how she feels about getting goosebumps when you see your childhood reimagined.
I wish they brought back Jeremy Irons, but I heard during the original movie, Irons is a smoker and was smoking cigs while doing his voice over, which helped with the raspiness, especially during the "Be Prepared" song and Disney had to edit out all the smoking sounds throughout his voice over recording. I'm sure someone making the decisions remembered that because apparently they didnt even give Jeremy Irons a phone call.

heck, Simba was actually my first Halloween costume when I was a kid & The Lion King was the first Movie I ever seen in theaters.
so I have memories of The Lion King.

The Jungle Book and The Lion king have the same director, Jon Favreau. Jungle Book was amazing, Beauty and the Beast was an abomination, imho. Love your reaction!

@The Movie Couple They didn't ask Jeremy Irons back because "Be Prepared" is not coming back. And, my guess, is they changed the character of Scar. Chiwetel Ejiofor is going to make a great Scar though!
