In 1994 the whole world cried hard after the that ominous stampede scene. Including me. Heck, it even became a meme that Mufasa's death is the only thing both men and women cry to. Reliving it almost 30 years later... I'm sure I''ll be as heartbroken as back then.
The director is Happy Hogan! From Iron Man and Spiderman. Jon Favreau. He directed Iron Man too. Also i heard that the movie is going to be word for word scene by scene the same as the original.

I remembered animated Lion King.... I think Live version will live up to the original. Years ago, my family went to Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, due to my father's troubles with walking. He was in wheel chair. We the family were seated in the front for Lion King's show. My brother in law was selected to participate in the show......it was hilarious!
There's a big cat sanctuary that I follow, and one of the cats they care for is a lioness that was rescued from a drug dealer in New York where she was kept chained on a concrete floor in the basement in a tiny cage. To make it even more awful, the drug dealer had her declawed. I love this trailer and all, but I can't help but feel like there are going to be people who are going to be like, "Ommagawd, I wanna lion cub cuz dey so cuuuute!" and start looking into how they can make one into a pet. Lions aren't pets and are best left alone in the wild!
It's amazing that Disney is bringing live action versions of the masterpieces from my childhood. Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Aladdin, Mulan, etc... I'm going to cry like a baby watching Mufasa die in live action.

"Lion King" is to many, including me, the best animated movie in the history of cinematography. And the most beautiful one. Heck, it's technicallt Shakespeare for children. Just with animals instead of people. I loved Favreau's "Jungle Book". I'm 95% sure he won't butcher LK. He knows how to respect the source material while not making it a calque. This CDI-remake has one HUGE problem though... the lack of Jeremy Irons as Scar!! That's unforgiving!!! Why Disney? Why? Especially that Jeremy Irons's voice didn't change AT ALL since the mid-90s. So why?
