Thanks for the feedback. I actually put in an order for a Shop Fox 16" last night, so we will see how it does. I am really looking forward to a scroll saw. I bout it along with a Grizzly bandsaw that I have wanted and saved for for a long time, so my woodworking is about to take some interesting new directions.
I would like to thank and congratulate you for you share with all of us all those projects, enabling all of us who are starting in carpentry as hobi and be able to do so many wonderful things. Big hug.
Thankyou ever so much, I learned something new today. I often wondered about the angle compared to the wood thickness. Thankyou for sharing your expertise.
My wife really liked it, so did I. Especially for your first! I think it might look nice to add one (maybe more?) rings of a contrasting color. Can I ask what kind of scroll saw you have, and do you like it?
May I congratulate you on using gravity for clamping, and a tree stub on which gravity may act. You have there a nice bit of geometry how one can get a voluminous effect from a small thickness plank. There is good logic how to obtain that angle for the cut.Problems like this should be given to school children to find solutions to problems. Once I had a mathematics teachers who could not see how his mathematics are applied in three dimensions and to him mathematics were simply remembering formulas. Once I made model out of straight lines to make hyperbolas and cones and parabolas and when I told him that is what he teaches me, he was surprised that I could depict what he told me in three dimensions as in this case. Congratulations, this bowl has much more richness in knowledge that one can show on a video. Hope that many children see this.
If you look under the table of your pillar drill there is a nut that you can loosen and then you can tilt your pillar drill table to any angle you desire. Just do the nut up again when you reach the desired angle you want to work at.
A very good video but could you please advise the lines you made regarding finding the tilt of the table? How did you develop the spacing and what did it turn out to be. Also what is the wood and more importantly what is its thickness. I look forward to your reply if you would be so kind. Thanks again.
A little trick with polydraw. If you make the # of waves negative you get petals. If you make the # of waves negative and the wave amplitude negative, you get a burr. Dave
The wood is 1.7 cm thick pearwood. Regarding the lines, I'm not sure I understand your question. The lines have the exact same spacing as the rings. Just take a scrap piece of the same piece of wood, and extend the lines downwards using a combination square. Did you look at the template in the description?
The angle is determined by the width of the rings and thickness of the wood. Here he uses a piece of wood with the same thickness to make an angle gauge.
Usually you can find a link to the pattern or a link to the website with the pattern in the description of the video. Please understand if it's not my pattern I will not post a direct link to download the pattern but I will post the link to the website of the creator where you can find the pattern. If there is no link in the description then I don't have a pattern.
Excellent job. Unfortunately, I hate sanding but I can see it is a necessary evil. I want to make a set of "nut" bowls for a few friends but now, I'm wondering how good of friends they are. LOL.
Saw your video through Steve Good's Scroll Saw workshop. This is the best video ever to show how to make a bowl like this. Thanks so much.
Really nice !
And, all that sanding paid off.
Thank you for sharing your technique.
Eric

Really nice bowl and love the clamp, might have to give this a go.....
contrasting wood would definitely be an improvement! The scroll saw is a Rexon VS4003A. It vibrates heavily, so I would not buy it again.

I don't own a scroll saw and likely never will, however, I watched this entire video... Twice. Very cool. :)
Looks great!
I added the link in the description
Well done!
Is slightly curved wall section achievable by varying pad angle?
Nice clamping system :)))) good job!

Thanks for the tip.
hermoso trabajo, felicitaciones jorge de argentina

Nice first time bowl.
Awesome job
Very nice, what kind of wood did you use?
Where can I buy that long flap sander for the drillpress?
You're welcome
thank you :)

Thank you :)
Maravilha de trabalho, parabéns!
Euripedes Reis Thanks you, Appreciate the view.
You're so clever!
Khan Sokny :-)
nice job!
Do you need to drill pilot holes on each rings? Thank you
And what kind size is the pilot holes?
Yes of course. How else could I insert the saw blade? The Pilot hole has the same size as the saw blade.
mit welchem programm wurde die schablone gemacht ?
Did you use a skip tooth? Curious as to what blade. Love how it turned out.
+Jen G 'Thank you. The Blade is a "Niqua fix No 3" Teeth Per Inch: 20, Thickness: 0.34mm (0.013"), Width: 0.80mm (0.031")

Beste Grüße,
Danke! bei 4:10 das ist ein Eigenbau. Einfach ein Rundstab mit doppelseitigem Klebeband und Schleifpapier umwickelt.
Hu, das ging aber schnell!

It is always nice to see people successfully designing bowls with Polydraw. (available at scrollmania.com) Great job/
Thank you very much!! Polydraw is a Great Tool!! I've put your link in the description.
Otherwise the rings would not lock into each other. They would simply slip through, because of the material cut away by the blade.
Good night, Fabian's. I wonder what angle you used to make the cuts for this BOWL? Thanks and a big hug.
+Alberto Thomaz Hello, at 0:25 I show how to find the right angle. The angle depends on the thickness of the material.
The angle is determined by the width of the rings and thickness of the wood. Here he uses a piece of wood with the same thickness to make an angle gauge.
Thanks, I used pear wood.

great work. have subscribe!
***** Thank you
Отлично! Лайк!
it beautiful :). awesome
du findest die Software hier: scrollmania (dot) com
Sir, why do you cut at an angle?
what is name of your scroll saw? I using proxxon 460 and I think that its impossible to make same with proxxon. What type of wood you using??
It's a peugeot energy scroll, the wood was pear.
thank you
Ist diese Schale wasserfest oder kann man da nur feste Stoffe rein tun?

Danke für deine Antwort.
where can i download the template??
do you have a website where i can find all patterns?
Usually you can find a link to the pattern or a link to the website with the pattern in the description of the video.
Please understand if it's not my pattern I will not post a direct link to download the pattern but I will post the link to the website of the creator where you can find the pattern.
If there is no link in the description then I don't have a pattern.
genious
Is that a Pegasus scroll saw ?
No, I think I used a Peugeot back then.

points for using mask during sanding, not all use :)
