I had this! I had a string of HORRIBLE therapists of Better Help when I came off an emotionally abusive and Narcissistic discard and was looking at trying to make sense of it. I can not say enough Bad things about Better Help. NO ONE THERE GOT IT.
You are the only health care provider that has expressed exactly what my struggle has been. I need and want help so badly but I can’t bear to waste my time, money and what little inner strength I have remaining on yet another therapist that just makes my situation worse. Thank you for this.
So good! I trusted my pastor and he cried with me. Pastor met separately with ex husband and ex husband came back with "Pastor asked how I show you love and had a long list, I couldn't think of one thing you do". I feel foolish for sharing so much of my story to only have the Pastor buckle to my ex's manipulation. Pastor told my ex that it sounds like we have normal marriage problems, he didn't get it and I refused to go to marriage counseling with Pastor and ex. The narrative now is that I wouldn't do counseling, while ex was wanting to to make our marriage work. He the victim and I am heartbroken
That is how it goes. You just have to be okay with knowing the truth. God knows the truth. Who cares what people think. Happened to me too. I believe you. 💛
Close to a year ago I came across a video of you and Chris Moles discussing a biblical take on how to handle emotional abuse. I have periodically returned to your content, and still appreciate you immensely. As if recovering from narcissistic abuse isn’t enough, many of us have had to endure losing our reputation, our social status, the majority of our support groups. I was silenced and marginalized within my own church, lost business partners I had introduced my ex to who sided with him. And a counselor we had gone to wiped his slate clean and placed all the blame on my shoulders. The primary abuse was confusing and damaging. The secondary abuse from counselors and pastors, and institutional abuse from the entire church was like death and ashes. In my opinion, the secondary and institutional abuse was far more painful and crippling than the narcissistic abuse was (and the narcissistic abuse was so bad my body was starting to shut down). You are spot on. Thank you for stating this. It is a needed warning to everyone who is looking to help the victims, including the victims themselves. Thank you for being brave enough to risk friendships, reputations, and influence to state the truth in love. You helped me heal, and I know your message is reaching hearts everywhere. Yes, I went to get help. She told me that I should get out more, go to dinner by myself, go to movies by myself. Then while I was telling her what was going on, she started to yawn. I stopped going. I then tried to tell my adult children and now they will not answer the phone or come to see me. I am very afraid of everything in my life. Try to stay in the house as much as I can so I do not have to talk to people.
I knew exactly what the reason was before you said it. Trust is very hard even for my closes family members whom I trusted before my narcissistic abuse.
This is probably the very best video ever even though all your other ones are so amazing and they have brought from Light so much. It is just 35 years of counseling and nobody has gotten it until I came across your videos. You are an amazing and amazing and amazing man and even tears come to my eyes to even think that the Lord planted you on RUclips and yes, I want to see the Lord God Almighty planted you on RUclips, because your morals and your ethics and integrity are of him.
Running into this - Wife has been withholding for 15 out of 22 years (once a year, year and a half for 7 years - and not even a kiss on the lips for the last 8). No end in sight and it seems the elephant in the room isn't pointing to addressing this or holding her accountable to address this - it's all on me being patient, un-demanding, etc.. This is not a case where any abuse or other has taken place, she simply has left the marriage for everything except her wants, needs, security and safety. ZERO compassion for the devastating lack of affection that this forced celibacy has had on me personally and out relationship. Yes, she holds hands, says I love you - but there isn't anything there... Walled off, won't seek medical or hormonal evaluation - just seems to be a 6 month push to justify sexlessness. Our Therapist is certified marriage and sex therapist - but there are non assignments, no try to do this approach - just discussion with no suggestions other than try to do a date night. I am exasperated.
Maybe i was meant to come across this video today because i was just having an emotional breakdown at the thought of going to counseling again. Everyone that i have found in my area that specializes in abuse does not take my insurance and im terrified. I have PTSD from going to couple counseling years ago with my abuser

The pastor I knew got it and prayed with me but then turned me over to the women’s pastor who kept asking what I did to be beaten up and thrown out after nine years together. NOTHING!!!!! I turned to psychics they were much more kind empathetic and helped me get my sense of self back. I know Christians think this is witchcraft but you have Narcs (like bad therapists and pastors). I want someone who I can trust!
It is witchcraft. The devil can fake empathy, but it will turn on you. You are right to feel injustice by the church. It was wrong what they did, but please don't do that to yourself.
Correct. You need to turn to Jesus with humility. Turning to psychics will waste your precious time as demons can give a semblance of healing but it's fake.
